  • This video shows Amtrak, Septa and NJT action around Philadelphia's 30th street station in the early 1990's. 30th st. is a two-level station across the Schuylkill River from center city Philadelphia. The upper level is served by SEPTA for its regional rail system. The lower level is served by Amtrak Northeast corridor trains, Keystone line trains and NJ Transit's Atlantic City line trains. This footage was taken in several locations in and around the station and the north end clips contains some last runs in April of 1995 when budget cuts ended Amtrak's Atlantic City trains and the Montrealer. Both the Swedish X-2000 and German ICE trains are also seen. Not all trains are timestamped as the list would be pretty long, however I did mark some of the more interesting trains seen.

    Dave. Listen to me. YOU ARE THE MAN!
    If you ever made DVDs of these I would buy them, and I don't even buy DVDs.
    Your videos are like time capsules. BRILLIANT.

    I love that this has the ICE and the X2000. My Amtrak in New England 90s video definitely has these same vibes!

    It’s a shame, Amtrak. It didn’t keep the Atlantic City run.

      @zazaranger5 I don't think they ever properly marketed it, There should have been something where the casinos were involved, and slot dollars were part of a ticket. It's a shame because the richmond train really was the best of the bunch, During this spring and summer the train was 6-7 cars. It was really too close to philadelphia to pull people out of their cars and ride the train.

    Oh Amtrak basically had their own version of ACES except it originates from Philadelphia? to Atlantic City.

    • @DavidPaul-dh5iu
      @DavidPaul-dh5iu  День назад

      @Touchybanana They had trains from Washington, Richmond, Philadelphia, and Springfield MA via NY. They ran from May 1989 until April 1st 1995.
