  • The new 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander 4x4 brings a facelift for this model year. New dynamic styling enhances the aesthetic of the 7 seater. This road test is of the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander 2.2 litre diesel which claims 53.3 MPG. The PHEV plug-in Hybrid is also available.
Can an increase in interior quality and good off-road credentials see this 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander take on its competitors?

It looks so much better with the facelift, hopefully we'll see that front end appear on the L200 at some point.

+Zerofightervi Totally agree! The new "dynamic shield" look will likely spread throughout the range.

It is funny that reviewers in the USA pooh pooh and nitpick this car yet reviewers in other countries are more favorable. It is almost like US reviewers are looking for reasons not to like this vehicle.

Xombiticus this is the first review ive seen. Never even looked at Mitsubishis before, not sure why but I admit I know nothing about them. This looks a very good car indeed. Comfortable, well made Japanese product with nice diesel engine. Should be reliable and long lasting

Good value car, looks like a good alternative to the Subaru Forester for one reason - this has a manual gearbox.

Seriously! Do they realize how many of us they are neglecting! I would buy this with a diesel and as stick. If any car company would be ballsy enough to do it in the states, Mitsubishi would be my guess.

+buildmorefarms100 That is interesting that it isn't offered over in the US. Do you get the PHEV?

Inside Lane Just about every automotive manufacturer has been eliminating the manual gear box for the models they release in the states. Sadly, with an exception of VW, Audi and Subaru if you want a manual at all, it is only offered on the absolute lowest trim level, and if you want the larger motor or AWD, you are out of luck.
Those of us in the colonies who consider driving an auto to be a shame on humanity have very few options.
Most folks in the OZ and UK would be stunned to know that there are 3 pickup trucks in the US that you can still buy with a manual. The Dodge Ram 2500 (6.7 liter diesel), the Nissan Frontier, and the Toyota Tacoma. THAT IS IT!
      Truly sad.
