I graduated from JSU back in 1998. I thought it was a great experience. my major was computer science, those professors I had are all retired. I just visited the campus for the first time in 20 years in 2019 and it looks like some changes have been made with the buildings but it still brought back very good memories and also trying memories having to work 40 hrs a week to support myself and good to classes during the day
Cool video! Thanks for sharing! Your tour includes about 2/3 of our campus. We have a performing arts building, business building, nursing building, amphitheatre, and science building northeast of the library, across the highway. We also have a couple of satellite campuses. Come on back sometime and we'll drive around with you and give you the full tour! Some of our buildings have great stories!
Jacksonville is not just the home of JSU. It is a town by itself that has been there since the 1830's way before the university was there. I am a 5th generation Jacksonville native that hates when all anybody knows is JSU. Jacksonville is also the home of Jacksonville High school Golden Eagles.
i understand it tho i'n america it's prob weird to ride a bike here in summer it's the oposite when people drive car they give us a look lol but we have bike lanes everywhere expecially in amsterdam alot of people dont have driver lycense till they like 28
We do have a lot of automobile drivers here and in our area of the country, in general, because the cities are spread out and public transportation is hard to find. Many of our students commute from outlying areas. We do have on-campus shuttle service, which also serves the Jacksonville area. Our students can ride the shuttle off campus to shop or go out. And we have a great rail-trail, the Chief Ladiga Trail, which runs through our campus. On the Chief Ladiga Trail you can get on your bike in Jacksonville, ride 30 or so miles to the Silver Comet Trail in Georgia, and from there get on the Appalachian Trail, which goes all the way to Maine. We also have a major bike race, the Cheaha Challenge Gran Fondo, which begins and ends on our campus at the Pete Mathews Coliseum.
