This was why Marley was so desperate to attack Paradis. Within a few to several decades, Titans would be obsolete. They needed new tactics, massive fossil fuel tech to solidify their stance as a world power. Which just so happened to be under paradis island.
The anti-personal ODM Gear was actually Paradis most useful tool and weapon for the future (their problem is that they were behind technologically in everything else, and that their numbers in the military aren't nearly as big as most of the countries on the rest of the world.
@@ATBatmanMALS31 Do you remember the assault on Marley? Marleyans could barely fight back, because flying people were quickly shooting and blowing them up and leaving as fast as they arrived. The movement ODM Gear proved to be ineffective was when Marley counter-attacked Shiganshina, because they had blimps shooting them from further above. What you call "doing a lot of cool shit" is to my interpretation a form the show has to feel excited with movement and exaggerate the sense of flying. Something like the ODM Gear is impossible in real life, it would be too heavy, the wires that hook shots the person would need to be extremely long, adding weight, and the energy and force to shoot said wires to reach the distances we see in the show has to be enormous, and mechanisms to form that would need to be stationary or to heavy to move or carry by a person. The ODM is another fantastic element like the Titans which the viewer has to suspend credibility, like many elements of other products of entertainment media. So when I talk about it's practical uses and advantages know that I'm talking in-universe of the AoT show, and I'm using examples seen from the show only. Notice how Armin and Mikasa quickly dispatched the soldiers that accompanied Magath and Pick on top of the wall. They move through the air having nearly endless options to move around any direction and propel themselves with gas (I mean, it's in the name: Omni Directional Maneuver Gear), I don't know about you, but that definitely sounds tough to shoot, especially during the Assault on Libero when it was at night, and their uniforms were mainly black. So using logic based on the show and the situation we've seen, the ODM Gear has proved to be Paradis most useful asset when it comes to protecting the Island.

If thunder spears are enough to kill a Colossal Titan (As shown in the Hange Scene in S4 pt 3) Then its safe to say a single jet could probably take out hundreds of them at a time.
The problem that people don't understand is the founder can make unlimited Titans, ranging from armoured to Colossal to Warhammer titans. Unless you want to say the world has unlimited resources and weapons and land then sure we can win but The founder can just stay at the north pole or something and send billions of titans. The reason the walls has so little is because at the time they were made it was all that was needed for those primitive humans who didn't even have guns but say for example Eren was here for the sole purpose of wiping us out then He would learn as much as he can then adjust the rumbling to the worlds capabilities. I think that even without mass nuclear annihilation humanity would still stand a chance. Think about how much damage ww2 era artillery did imagine modern long range artillery and air support not to mention non nuclear ballistic missiles. Hell even outdated aircraft and modern hand held anti armor weapons could potentially do some damage.
Actually, the AOT only have WW1 Artillery (Artillery is that advanced already in WW1). WW2 Tank Formations can even be deployed and even outrun them as long as they do not break down. Not to mention Dive Bombers and even level bombers makes things way easier.
@@skybattler2624 Artillery didn't change much from WW1 to WW2. It became more accurate. But in general it was still unguided. Hell, even today it still isn't fundamentally different. A 300mm barrel of a Naval Gun will always do more damage than a 155mm M777. But the M777 will hit its mark easier. In Marley, their military seems to be heavily inspired by a mix of the Germans and the French. Accordingly, their field guns they deployed against the Colossus Titans on the shore seem to be based on the M1897 75mm guns used by France. They didn't really make a dent when the colossus' were marching into town. And the battleships likely used 12 inch guns, as was common on Battleships and Dreadnoughts of WW1 and WW2. 12 inch guns are about 300mm of pure pain. While it does kill a few dozen colossus', we also see them survive and, in a few cases, shrug off 300mm. Which is a problem. Other issues persist though. How quickly would it be discovered that Titans are killed by the nape? Military training is to aim for center mass. If that doesn't work, the head. Would they think to aim for the neck? If so, would they hit it with weapons strong enough to stop a colossus? For example, I don't believe a 20mm Chaingun of a Bradley would even penetrate deep enough to destroy a colossus. At least, it wouldn't from the front. Ammunition is also a problem. Most soldiers would be useless, even with rocket launchers. Cruise missiles and ICBMs are very limited supply as well. Tanks and IFVs would be the main sources of damage. Right there, you've eliminated most of your army from the fight.
@@superkamiguru6856 One lucky shot is enough, and despite having the same caliber as WW1 guns, Modern Artillery have an Explosive Radius of TWICE the Explosive Radius with DOUBLE the penetration. Not to mention some bloke in the Military might just decide to decapitate the Colossals instead, like what they did in the Giant Zombie Apocalypse War Planning Strategy, which takes into account Giant, Mutated Zombies. You need to do research on War Planning Scenarios and how easy it might actually be to discover the weakness. @Rabby Ruby I'm not comparing the beast titan to the wall titans, the only match up they got is Zeke's throwing ability being similar to artillery but even then like in my previous reply it would be ineffective.

their heat doesnt go that far since hange had to be pretty close before she was scorched to dead, and the heat did not immedietly burn ramos when he was stepped on either. I agree with you, even though it isnt out right confirmed that what the miners found was the base of the titan, could be just that the wall titans hardening spread 10m underground That said, if they were 60m istead of 50, that would also make them wider at around 20m wide instead of 17m, so you could fit less titans in the walls for a total of around 445,500 wall titans, 15% less than what the video calculated I also think the diagram greatly exagerates the size of the districts compared to what we see in the anime but the rumbling needs all the help it can get, since we now know that King Fritz' threat of "millions upon millions of titans in the walls" was a huge exegaration The walls are a small area compared to Paradis, we know they are far enough from the coast so that not even the scout regimen had ever gotten far enough to see the ocean, and Paradis is a really small island compared to Marley, and we know that there's many other nations in addition to Marley Eren would need WEEKS if not MONTHS of uninterrumpted rumbling in orden to flatten the world

Yeah, I don't know why people keep jumping into conclusions like "we need to throw Nukes at it" almost instantly. Yeah sure, if you want to take all the Titans out, sure. But the point here is stopping the Rumbling which has a huge weak point and that is the Founder itself. The founder is protected from aerial attacks in the show but we're talking fighter jets here, alot more fast and agile and the Beast Titan wouldn't be able to take them all out as easily. And at the end of the day, we saw Armin use his Collosal Titan $nuke transformation" to take out the Founder and it worked. So at the end of the day, there is no reason to destroy the world by firing all these nukes, simply use 1 on the Founder and you're good. After that's done then the Rumbling should stop and you'd only have to face Eren's Collosal Titan which could be easily stopped.

@@fromryuk7785 It's the English translation of the manga (so it's not reliable...), and even if it was, having the titans walk in a circle would not be strategically coherent for Eren, and doesn't match what you see in the manga either. Which is completely counterproductive. In addition, walking in a circle, the titans will gradually move away from each other, to the point where arrived on Marley, they would each be several kilometers apart. But the wall's titans are always shown to us as grouped together with less than ten meters apart. The author also shows us that Rod Reiss' titan changes its direction depending on the density of people, so I don't see why Eren wouldn't do the same. It is clearly a Chekhov rifle that Isayama showed to us. In fact, there are many mistakes in calculating the length of the walls : - The titans' tall is 60 meters (Ten meters underground and 50 meters above ground) - The radius of the section cannot be 50 kilometers, In the first three seasons, we estimated the real size of the districts relative to the length of the walls, which is much less than that, meaning that their length may reach a maximum of 15 kilometers, but I think it is between 3-7 kilometers.
Does anyone else realise that the map used to compare the sizes of Paradis Island and Marley is just an inverted and upsidedown image of Africa and Madagascar?
The districts shown in the map are likely exaggerated in size, there's no way they have a radius of 50 km. The Colossal Titan is very visible next to Shiganshina, and the very best you could say the length of the whole district is somewhere around 12 Colossal Titans total. That would be a distance of 0.72 km. I'd guess each district would have a ballpark of around 100 wall titans.
Its hard to believe that there was millinos of titans in the walls even though the author wanted that since it makes sense since the earth is so big but there only needs to be a few hundred thousand tbh to destroy the earth
Size is usually not really captured very well in attack on Titan for example the colossal titan and it's 60m height aren't in actually that big but the series would make us believe otherwise due to them trying to build dramatic effect eren who is 15m in height is shown in the anime to only be the size of their toe which to anyone who has picked up on the fact he's only a 4th of his height not an 8th this all just seems ridiculous so in general I just go with the visual implications at face value even if they are far from realistic

I think the factor is less about a modern military's technical ability to neutralise the rumbling as much as it is about the logistics involved. Once a response was underway you would expect most of it would occur beyond visual range, in the form of missile and nuclear strikes and airborne attacks. You forgot the founder is a God. It can just harden, or not exist at all. It can even make new titan variants out of thin air, and it could possibly even cause mass EMPs. Idk, the possibilities are limitless when you remember they specifically stated the founder can do whatever it wants unopposed. Eren is literally just holding back to not destroy the entirety of humanity. He hates people without freedom. He could've taken away the titan abilities from the other people but he didn't. He wants them to defeat him.
There are a few things to consider: - First, the wall titans are capable of regeneration, meaning that any shot that misses the neck or any other nuke that didn't complete vaporize their bodies would not be effective at killing them. Meaning that the world would have to resort to nuclear bombs or precision strikes, most likely from jet fighters. - Second, the sheer amount of vapour and smoke would make difficult for jets to make a precision strike to the neck, especially in the ocean, as the titans are capable of swimming at surprisingly high speed. Moreover, any nuke dropped at the ocean would slightly disperse the shockwave, making them less likely or maybe even useless at whipping out a large group of titans at once. So most likely humanity would resort to counter attack either on land or near the shore where they can have a chance to use the full power of precision weapons and the destructive power of nuclear bombs. - Third, LOGISTICS. For humanity to destroy the titans we must put our weapons in position as quickly as possible. Apart from nuclear weapons, which would be launched by ICBMs, any jet, naval vesel, tank, artillery, personnel, munitions and equipment must be brought to firing positions in time. Which would be a nightmare of a operation to coordinate. It would be a truly planetary effort, with several nations coming together all at once, in different places, at different times to destroy different groups of titans. Any mistake, any waste, any protocol not met, would mean millions, if not billions of casualties. You could cut the atmosphere in some HQ with a knife in this nerve-wracking endeavor. Thus, this "united nation's army" would have clearance to every piece of transportation, every road, rail line and airport, maybe even the port and coastlines. I don't know what the outcome would be, but I'm sure humanity would survive, even if they fail to wipe out the titans, some rich guy would take refuge in some random bunker and eventually try to kick-start agriculture once again, as all fields would be destroyed. Maybe people would create underground cities and slowly try to forage the surface for some materials. But it would take at least hundreds of years to establish a stable outpost in the surface, as there would be no materials like wood, or any land to cultivate.
no if we're realistically speaking here, a thunder spear decimates titans and 120mm cannons do too. even just ship guns punched massive holes in colossal titans. now imagine what missile clusters and millions of nukes from all across the world could do. its not really a debate tbh
@@grey8094 Not just days or months. Just building a single wall titan took probably anywhere between a month to a couple of months, now imagine half a million of those
Apparently the founding titain can do almost anything. So if thats possible I'm sure we'd win but not without damages. So if it can do anything what if the founding titan spawns 5 million titans. The rumbling had 400,000+ so if it can do almost anything then spawing 5 million would be a stretch but not impossible. Not just that but its mention that the founding titans sees the past , present and future at the same time so it can figure out what its supposed to do to win. Maybe spawn like idk , 20,000 titans in each state of the us and the other 4 million in heavy populated places. We'd kill them but not without millions of people dying. If homie can spawn them anywhere then he can spawn them within even space and spread them out. If he can spawn any titain then maybe Warhammers instead of the big bois. If the big bois then idk make them taller , bigger faster, harden them , not just that but the steam is hot apparently 600f , apparently. Also apparently the rumbling is 375 miles long which is crazy bit what if homie could spawn as many but not spawn them anywhere. Well if he could at least spawn as many fuck it. Spawn 10,000,000 or even more. Put them in somewhere remote and well shit its over for homie but idk i have a felling they can do something cuz man can see the future
To be fair, this was before the last 2 episodes, even I thought todays world would be finished if the Rumbling started. After the last 2 episodes however.. even I was surprised how easily the modern world could end the Rumbling
The Founding Titan can create titans endlessly without getting tired + you saw what the artillery on those ships did to the Rumbling, literally nothing + they can't launch nukes due to civilian casualties, so nah rumbling solos.
@@alyax- You mean WWI era battleships, an F-22 flies thousands of feet high, has enough firepower equal to that whole fleet, and 50 meters really isn’t that large, the military has destroyed compounds, ships and others vehicles much more durable and larger than a Collasal Titan also Titans are week as hell to Anti Titan guns, the fleet literally tore the first couple hundred collosals to shreds if you watch the scene properly. Also the founding titans teeth get broken by a few thunder spears, a javelin missile could probably kill it.

The fact that he skipped all types of military weapons that can easily kill colossal titans to nukes is crazy. Modern military has a 93 percent chance at stopping the rumbling.
I think it is terrifying to think that we could stop the Rumbling without much effort if it were real and we wouldn't even need an alliance among countries. A superpower could end it alone. Humanity has way more power of destruction than a lovecraftian creature.
Well, if the world knew how the founding titan worked, they'd probably target him and completely incinerate Eren with like 3 nukes, just Armin transforming managed to break the skeleton, so I imagine a Tsar Bomba could do the trick, too. Then it comes down to if that weird creature could survive or even reconnect with Eren in time to continue the rumbling and since the runbling did stop when Armin did explode at first then it probably wouldn't be that hard.
Spoilers: It stopped because Levi killed Zeke before Armin nuked Eren. Btw, put a spoiler warning bro. Armin nuking Eren haven't happened in the anime yet
@@heyyyyeeebut the problem is, Eren's founding titan isn't complete because he was decapitated by Gabi that's why he looked like that. Now imagine if his founding titan's form was complete like Ymir's. And he used hardening. Won't it be harder?
Also, we didn’t get to see the full power of the founding titan. Zeke said that Ymir can make almost everything she wants or need. And I think Marley knew that this power was huge that’s why they tried to take it. They would have permanent control over the world with it. So I think the rumbling cannot be stoped since Eren can make as much titan he need, and if he can do a lot of others things… The founding is a godlike power after all
You know how jets work right? they do not have many missiles and their cannon has a minimal ammo count. Even something like a AC-130 would only be able to take out like 12 at most before having to restock at an airfield that has probably been trampled.
You'd want a bomber, not a fighter. A lot of bombs could absolutely pulverize titan flesh, including the nape of anything within the blast radius. No nukes required either.
Most definitely yes. We have military drones piloted by Play Station controllers, we can sure as hell target some neck napes from the sky. And don't get me started on all the anti-tank rounds, precision missiles, fighter crafts, and other junk.
Im an AOT fan but this is crazy, thinking that the only way the modern world would survive the rumbling is through a technicality is insane and goes against what the show is trying to teach (that technology makes titans irrelevant.) It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that killing Eren will stop the rumbling (duh, he’s the big one) a fleet of fighter jets deployed minutes after the rumbling starts (after presumably being informed by a commander) would wipe out the titans in its early stages (when the wall titans are walking in a straight line in order to avoid hurting the people of Paradis) either by just killing all of the wall titans by dropping countless explosives overhead or just killing Eren with a particularly strong round. It would be as simple as a president in his cushy office pressing a red button and sending a nuclear warhead traveling at 24,000km/h (which is 533 times faster than the rumbling, by the way) and it just blows Erens founding Titan to dust. Titans aren’t built for the modern age, the show says it multiple times.
i remember when i was watching AOT and in the middle of episodes there would be these tid bits of lore, and one them mentioned some criminal trying to escape by digging out under the wall, he kept going and going but the wall was still reaching under ground, who knows how many titans there might be under the the island. it could a lot or very little i dont remember it very well bc its a been a while.
It's due to the fact that all the wall titans are buried 10 metres beneath the ground. That's also why Bertholt was able to look over the wall, despite his height being the same as the wall titans.
You only need to kill Eren to stop the rumbling. You might say "But he has the Warhammer, so he isn't necessarily in the nape🤓." And? Eren in 300 meters tall at most. Even weak nuclear weapons can blow him to smithereens. - Little Boy (15 kt) had a fireball (vaporization zone, almost absolute destruction of molecular bonds) width of 520 meters. Aren't satisfied with a ball of plasma twice his size? Little Boy was pretty small anyway. - The B83, which the US has 650 of, has 1.2 megatons of power, with a fireball radius of 3000 meters. That's ten times that of Eren. Even if you think "some measly fire 🤓" can't hurt him, there is a 600-meter zone around the explosion point with 3000 PSI of pressure. That's 15 times the pressure of a pressure cooker. That's 5 times the pressure necessary to collapse an earthquake shelter. Some fragile bone is NOT going to survive that. A pressure of 12,000 PSI is felt in a range 400 meters around the point of explosion. That's the pressure you feel 5 miles under the sea.

no chance for titans but I wonder could Ymir make titans that could tank modern weapons? I mean she can technically make anything in her dimension if she wanted
I don't remember the anime stating she can make *anything*. The only thing we were told is that she makes the titan bodies, the regeneration abilities, the 9 titans powers, and she can control the Eldian's biological makeup. Plus, I'd think she needs to know our world and since she would be very outdated, I don't think we would have to worry if she could make anything.
@@BigwillOH I do remember Zeke said something like "Ymir can make anything here, including this chains in my neck". I assumed he meant it as literally anything and she can also alter her subjects biology and with that I also have a lot of questions as well, for example. up to what extent can Ymir alter Eldias biology? is it limited to just curing diseases? how about making all of her subjects have regeneration abilities or bullet proof skin?
Well the armoured titan could properly as reiner wasn't meant to be the armoured titan thus is probably weaker than previous armoured titans, and started to get overwhelmed by Armour piercing rounds designed to take his titan out after he got back so there is a high chance that one of the other candidates were chosen then maybe, but yeah some of the titans could fair well against modern tech especially the more nimble ones like the jaw and cart
@@TurlesSon-u5s Once the military hits the nape and discovers that, it's over. They can't regenerate from that, and the regeneration isn't instant either.
Just a lil comment, using the map at 1:30 would POSSIBLY give the right measurements for the small districts protruding from the walls, but we know for certain that the map is not drawn to scale because the radius of the inner wall being 250 but appearing to be slightly smaller than the 130 measure is completely off. Either that, or the 250 actually corresponds with the diameter of the inner walls instead of the radius, in which case the circumference calculations would also be way off
While the rumbling portrayed in the anime could easily be stopped, if Eren/Zeke approached humanities extinction with a different strategy, such as planting people all over the world to transform into pure titans, that'd cause so much chaos and it'd spread the military thin just to do crowd control Tbh a more interesting hypothetical is what if, during the infiltration of other nations, when most importantly, Armin was sided with Eren and willing transform, what if he just transformed in key military locations, between travel time he'd have more than enough time to recover and just on pure radius of his transformation he'd easily wipe off any chance of the rest of the world defending against the future rumbling
well current world has 8 billion population and i dont think eldians have that much people, and i think Highly Powerfulm agencies like CIA, MI6 and MOSSAD Will surely found their plan
One simple way Eren can win the entire war is by playing the slow game. Instead of releasing all Titan at once, he can simply manipulate Ymir's subjects to go to a specific location that has a dense population, or somewhere near military areas. He can turn those Ymir's subjects into Special 9 or Colossal Titan's explosion, which has the (almost) same explosion as a nuke. Let the special 9 handle the military before they have the chance to operate, and Colossal Titan handle the others. Not to mention, he can detonate Colossal Titan in the sea to cause tsumani, which is something military weapons can't handle. An earthquake, volcano, or other type of disaster caused by Colossal shouldn't be underestimated.

Hange alone was able to kill a few colossus titans with weapons as primitive as thunder spears which should confirm that they don't stand a chance against modern military. They'd be ripped to shred in a few hours. The founding titan with its size and nature would've been spotted immediately via satellite/sonar and made the priority target as it's clearly the leader of the invaders. One air strike on him and it's done. Overhaul they might be able to destroy a portion of South Africa (since Eldians are located in the equivalent of Madagascar), but they'd be stopped very quickly depending on the reaction time of other nations. It's impressive

There are two side of AoT fans One argue the rumbling can be clapped by modern military in two business hours The other one argue the rumbling is the thing ever and even 5 gazillion Goku can't stop it
You have to consider the fact that The Rumbling starts almost like a tsunami, spreading outwards. Eren says it himself when he addressed the subjects of Ymir. Given that the Wall Titans would be spread out, The Rumbling can't continue *being* The Rumbling unless everything was scaled up, from the walls' size to the amount of Titans that can fit in them. This is one of the problems with Attack on Titan, and it's the fact that even when using inconsistent height perspectives for dramatic effect, logically speaking it wouldn't compute when talking about a world-ending event. Nothing in the Attack on Titan universe is truly big enough to create significant damage to the world. The Wall Titans are also not indestructible. In the very same clip of them attacking Marley we see one of them missing a head, which means their signature weakness would be eventually discovered and exploited. The Wall Titans can be defeated, but I think Eren Jaeger himself could destroy the world, given that his Founding Titan form has no known limits. If The Rumbling were to succeed, then Eren would need either an army of Founding Titans, or just himself.
I mean that Titan lost it's head and still got up, in reality the wall titans would be a bit below the size of a football field though that size alone can cause a lot of damage on land especially with them radiating intense heat If they were to march along in the same direction as for the Founding Titan if Eren knew how advanced the military is in Todays reality he'd likely have many tricks up his sleeves instead of just marching through as he does in the Anime
@@ClassyPandaOfficial Plus, there's also the open question as to whether or not the Founder can just endlessly fabricate Colossal Titans to replace the ones that are lost. Seeing as no people emerged from the CTs after the Titan curse ended, the Founder can theoretically just create a shitton of them with no way to stop it.
@@penguinlord6098 if the Founder was so inclined to expose himself. Technically the Founder can command the wall Titans from the safety of a bunker to the same effect. It’s pretty easily countered
i dont think u thought modern jets tho, in the final part of the series they let us know how even in that age (around 1915) titan powers are starting to be obsolete, and everyone knows that the nape is the weak point, so if we are not only counting nukes, also planes air-ground, helicopters, bombers, tanks, artillery, i think we got a chance, that ofc without counting eren founding titan, because if he is the host of the rumbling irl too, he has no chance
Exactly. That's just my assumption, but maybe the author choose the WW1 times for a purpose, so the titans have a chance against the world. Nowadays titans would be easy targets to the army of drones and jets who'd target their napes.
7:50 Did you just assume nations wouldn't nuke their allies if it meant saving themselves? Also, normal missiles are nothing to scoff at. All you need is 1 F-22 run on Erens face to get the job done
I think a better comparison would be that the rumbling would field the 8th largest army in the world, except each soldier is a Titan. And the army needs no supplies or logistics America has 1.3 million active soldiers, but only a fraction of them are combatants. Also, I would not dismiss the idea of conventional warfare. Air power would be able to take down individual Titans with relatively small explosives and machine guns. The question is whether there's enough ammo in the world and whether the Titans will overrun the bases needed for refuel and rearmament on this scale. Obviously that number would be classified, and it's not obvious one way or the other
The main flaw in reasoning here is assuming that we would have to use nukes on colossal titans. The actual play would be to wait until titans leave the island and then threaten Paradis with nuclear strike, nuking one district as a sample. Eren broadcasted his goals so we generally know what he wants, so knowing we can't win we just need to force a stealmate.

@@danielmunoz1275 I fail to see how they would be effective for anything beyond doing a lot of cool shit right before you explode into a red mist.

Unless you want to say the world has unlimited resources and weapons and land then sure we can win but The founder can just stay at the north pole or something and send billions of titans. Artillery didn't change much from WW1 to WW2.
Besides, the War Train that penetrated the Armored Titan is 100mm, and the Colossal Titan's defense is weaker than that.

yes but the armored titan got pulverized by said ship artillery which is a feat of itself considering the armored titans armor is said to be near unbreakable like titan hardening, and armor piercing rounds of that size would be very expensive. thing with the wall titans though is that they are bigger and so large in number that artillery would be effectively useless due to reload time and the fact the volley needs to be concentrated meaning it can only kill a few wall titans at once.

Zekes plan is not the rumbling of threat of it but to kill of Eldians by taking away their ability to reproduce.
I see what your saying, but stopping the rumbling even with more advanced technology would still cause lots of damage and use tons of resources. It doesn’t really matter the height they are getting bodied anyways
I agree with you, even though it isnt out right confirmed that what the miners found was the base of the titan, could be just that the wall titans hardening spread 10m underground
That said, if they were 60m istead of 50, that would also make them wider at around 20m wide instead of 17m, so you could fit less titans in the walls for a total of around 445,500 wall titans, 15% less than what the video calculated

The manga translation says they walk straight out in a giant circle to annihilate everything.
@@fromryuk7785 It's the English translation of the manga (so it's not reliable...), and even if it was, having the titans walk in a circle would not be strategically coherent for Eren, and doesn't match what you see in the manga either.
Eren's objective is to eradicate humanity beyond the walls, by making the titans walk in a circle, he would make more than half of his titans walk on lands and seas devoid of humans and this for several days.
In other words, making the titans walk in a circle would have been unproductive, does not correspond to what the manga shows us and Eren could never have killed 80% of humanity in just 4 days with such a strategy.

Their size changes due to terrain.
@@kavitarai5802 how do you explain the very distinct lack of trenches where the walls used to be?
@@kavitarai5802 nope, its a common misconception that the wall titans are just colossal titans and as such are the same height, however in reality the wall titans and the colossal titan are two different titans, wall titans are 40-50 meters tall while the colossal titan is at-least 60 meters tall, the fact that the colossal titan stands a head over the wall shows it is 60 meters, the walls are confirmed to be 50 meters as said in the manga and anime by Eren and others. the wall doesn't go under ground either as depictions of the creation of the walls shows no signs of the wall extending underground. also when the rumbling starts you can not see any trenches where the walls used to be, confirming more so, it does not go underground. while i wouldn't be surprised if some of the wall titans were pushing 60 meters, that would be very rare.
In fact, there are many mistakes in calculating the length of the walls :
- The titans' tall is 60 meters (Ten meters underground and 50 meters above ground)
- The radius of the section cannot be 50 kilometers, In the first three seasons, we estimated the real size of the districts relative to the length of the walls, which is much less than that, meaning that their length may reach a maximum of 15 kilometers, but I think it is between 3-7 kilometers.
Does anyone else realise that the map used to compare the sizes of Paradis Island and Marley is just an inverted and upsidedown image of Africa and Madagascar?
Yes
Yeh realized couple months ago that their map is just our world map but altered
why bother making a unique world when a slightly altered real world works just fine
There are two inversions..
1st laterally inversion then height inversion
The world of AoT is just a mirror upside down version of our real world, pretty cool
Its hard to believe that there was millinos of titans in the walls even though the author wanted that since it makes sense since the earth is so big but there only needs to be a few hundred thousand tbh to destroy the earth
the titans in the walls are a little bit smaller than the actual colossal titan I think
@@nyckny2500 I'm just using the Colossal as a ruler to show the scale of the districts. Also, even if you 10x my estimate it's still WAY less titans.
@@LtRenji6 I think this miscalculation was made by the fact that when he added the walls he didn’t remove the middle from the equation for the two outer ones or remove the size of the districts in between
I think the real question would be (assuming the rumbling starts out of nowhere and catches governments off-guard) how much damage would be done in the time it would take for governments/militaries around the world to acknowledge the issue, determine the appropriate response and mobilise forces. I think the factor is less about a modern military's technical ability to neutralise the rumbling as much as it is about the logistics involved.
Once a response was underway you would expect most of it would occur beyond visual range, in the form of missile and nuclear strikes and airborne attacks.
If the logical conclusion was made to focus firepower on the founding titan it would obviously be over much sooner.
Realistically, the rumbling would be stopped before it could trample the world but it would cause a fair bit of carnage beforehand

Eren boutta see what REAL freedom is 🦅🦅🦅🦅
There are a few things to consider:
- First, the wall titans are capable of regeneration, meaning that any shot that misses the neck or any other nuke that didn't complete vaporize their bodies would not be effective at killing them.
Plus, Eren could probably create Hybrid Flying titans and Warhammer titans that could fend of fighter jets

As soon as I read this I took my headphones off
The fact that he skipped all types of military weapons that can easily kill colossal titans to nukes is crazy.
Technology is a hell of a power.
Spoilers:
It stopped because Levi killed Zeke before Armin nuked Eren.
Btw, put a spoiler warning bro. Armin nuking Eren haven't happened in the anime yet
u dont need 3 nukes for eren, a few or even a single bunker buster(GBU-57) is enough to rip through the entirety of eren founding titan
Bruh 3 nukes😂😂😂
A single low MT nuke would be enough to vaporize him
@@heyyyyeeebut the problem is, Eren's founding titan isn't complete because he was decapitated by Gabi that's why he looked like that.

THAT ELDIAN JUMPSCARE AT THE END 💀
As soon as Eren starts talking to the Eldians, free bird will start playing
That ending almost killed me
Im an AOT fan but this is crazy, thinking that the only way the modern world would survive the rumbling is through a technicality is insane and goes against what the show is trying to teach (that technology makes titans irrelevant.) It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that killing Eren will stop the rumbling (duh, he’s the big one) a fleet of fighter jets deployed minutes after the rumbling starts (after presumably being informed by a commander) would wipe out the titans in its early stages (when the wall titans are walking in a straight line in order to avoid hurting the people of Paradis) either by just killing all of the wall titans by dropping countless explosives overhead or just killing Eren with a particularly strong round.
Yes, also note that conventional ordnance would be better suited to kill titans, such as guided 250kg bombs, of which there are hundreds of thousands.
i remember when i was watching AOT and in the middle of episodes there would be these tid bits of lore, and one them mentioned some criminal trying to escape by digging out under the wall, he kept going and going but the wall was still reaching under ground, who knows how many titans there might be under the the island. it could a lot or very little i dont remember it very well bc its a been a while.
It's due to the fact that all the wall titans are buried 10 metres beneath the ground. That's also why Bertholt was able to look over the wall, despite his height being the same as the wall titans.
@@deci2723 So their height is 60 meters?
He probably stopped digging at 9m down. The wall ends 10m down underground
@@la912 the wall titans are colossal titans for sakes 🥲

I think the warhammer titan is the best ymir can do
I don't remember the anime stating she can make *anything*.
I assumed he meant it as literally anything and she can also alter her subjects biology and with that I also have a lot of questions as well, for example. up to what extent can Ymir alter Eldias biology? is it
limited to just curing diseases? how about making all of her subjects have regeneration abilities or bullet proof skin?
@@morax5015 I mean, Zeke's whole plan was to use Ymir to make all the Eldians sterile, so she could probably make the regenerate to some extent

Either that, or the 250 actually corresponds with the diameter of the inner walls instead of the radius, in which case the circumference calculations would also be way off
I was looking for someones comment that said this. I was thinking the same thing.
While the rumbling portrayed in the anime could easily be stopped, if Eren/Zeke approached humanities extinction with a different strategy, such as planting people all over the world to transform into pure titans, that'd cause so much chaos and it'd spread the military thin just to do crowd control
Tbh a more interesting hypothetical is what if, during the infiltration of other nations, when most importantly, Armin was sided with Eren and willing transform, what if he just transformed in key military locations, between travel time he'd have more than enough time to recover and just on pure radius of his transformation he'd easily wipe off any chance of the rest of the world defending against the future rumbling
well current world has 8 billion population and i dont think eldians have that much people, and i think Highly Powerfulm agencies like CIA, MI6 and MOSSAD Will surely found their plan
The colossal’s nuclear explosion is puny compared to even the Hiroshima bomb.

I am actually thinking where would Paradis will be, majority of them are of ethnic german origin and their infrastructure is european
Wait can Eren not just regenerate their heads cuz he can manipulate the bodies? Right?
If you just bomb Eren’s head or nape, you kill him and stop the rumbling. Ez clap.

I think a better comparison would be that the rumbling would field the 8th largest army in the world, except each soldier is a Titan. And the army needs no supplies or logistics
America has 1.3 million active soldiers, but only a fraction of them are combatants.
Also, I would not dismiss the idea of conventional warfare. Air power would be able to take down individual Titans with relatively small explosives and machine guns. The question is whether there's enough ammo in the world and whether the Titans will overrun the bases needed for refuel and rearmament on this scale. Obviously that number would be classified, and it's not obvious one way or the other
the ending was a jumpscare bro 💀
The main flaw in reasoning here is assuming that we would have to use nukes on colossal titans. The actual play would be to wait until titans leave the island and then threaten Paradis with nuclear strike, nuking one district as a sample. Eren broadcasted his goals so we generally know what he wants, so knowing we can't win we just need to force a stealmate.
We can win, the rumbling started because Titans were becoming obsolete.
Yeah and it’d be a pretty cool bonding moment for all of the countries
