Lubricating rifle cases is an important step in the reloading process, as it helps to prevent cases from sticking in resizing dies and prolongs the life of your equipment. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to lubricate rifle cases for reloading:
Clean your rifle cases: Before you start, make sure to clean your rifle cases thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris that may be on them. You can use a brass tumbler or ultrasonic cleaner to do this.
Choose a lubricant: There are many types of case lubricants available, including spray lubes, wax lubes, and liquid lubes. You can choose the one that you prefer.
Apply the lubricant: Apply the lubricant to the outside of the case using a lubricating pad or brush. Be sure to cover the entire case, including the neck and shoulder.
Wipe off excess: After applying the lubricant, wipe off any excess with a clean cloth or paper towel. You want a thin, even layer of lubricant on the case.
Let the lubricant dry: Give the lubricant a few minutes to dry before resizing the case. This will help ensure that the lubricant is evenly distributed and won't interfere with the resizing process.
Resize the case: Once the lubricant is dry, you can resize the case using your resizing die. The lubricant will help the case move smoothly through the die, preventing it from getting stuck.
Remember to follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific lubricant you are using, as some may require slightly different application techniques. With a little practice, lubricating your rifle cases will become a quick and easy part of the reloading process.

The image is better in the scope, but video is down graded when uploaded to RUclips.
The Thermion 2 XG50LRF image is really good, about the same as the XP50 Pro on a good thermal night.

Great tip for an age old problem. The only way I could see a dented shoulder hurting you is if you ran a compressed load because then it could over pressurize the case.
I had a tube of the Lee case lube sitting around and never gave it a thought until recently. That stuff works perfectly. Get it wherever you want, shoulder, neck, butt crack... no dents. The stuff sat on my shelf for years because I fell into the snob trap and thought it wouldn'tbe good. I was way wrong. Try it.
Russ Stockton I agree. Its all I use and have used it for years. I apply it with a Q-tip. Won't degrade powder so I lube inside the case neck also. Never had any dents even with excess on the case.
Got a tip from an old guy years ago...castor oil for sizing, i wear gloves and rub it onto the case as im bringing it to the press. I been on the same $5 bottle for a decade. Works great and cheap!
I will try it. Thanks.
Never had that happen
Thanks for the tip 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Simplify things further, add lubricant to only one side of the pad.
Interesting, new to reloading here. I thought that was because lack of bumping the shoulders or to much pressure? That's what I always was wondering.
dry lube works too
I just stopped using lee brand lube and problem solved
Frank Wrogg Hmmm. Never had a problem with Lee case lube even with excess on the case.
I f you dont press down on the cases too hard while rolling them on the pad you wont get any lub on the shoulders either been there done that
never put lube on the case neck
never put lube on the shoulder sorry before i said the neck do not lube the shoulder
