I own a C-More C-TAC, a now-discontinued model designed for ARs. It’s basically an M4 carry handle that has been cut up and a regular C-More sight bolted to the base. If you’ve seen any late-1990s/early-2000s movie featuring M4s (e.g. Air Force One, Soldier, The One, etc.), these used to be common. I like it - the dot is surprisingly crisp. But I also wouldn’t want it on a serious use rifle; it’s not durable enough and the battery life sucks. I use it only when my Colt 6920 is set up in a retro configuration.
I've been looking for one of those for a while but they don't seem to come up very often and when they do they tend to be pricey. Totally iconic looking though. There are airsoft clones of it around so I think a lot of people these days just buy those instead
@@solwindp78-1 I got mine from a GunBroker seller, but yeah, they’re hard to find for sure. It’s one of those optics that people used to take for granted 15 years ago that is now impossible to find, even though most of C-More’s other red dot models are still in production.
I'll admit I've got a 15 year old CMore on an old STI Eagle....and it still runs. Is it great? No. Is it comparable to even an SRO? Yes and no, the SRO is vastky better but the huge reticle of the Cmore is somewhat nice. But I cling to my old 8 MOA Cmore atop my dated 40 cal STI for nostalgia if nothing else. If nothing else, the C-MORE looks really really cool on a rifle, more so than close-emitters that are overall objectively better. Probably because of video games and movies, it's always open-emitters you see there, idk if we think they look nice because of media or if they're used a lot in media because they look nice. Regardless, what it lacks in practicality, it makes up for in style.
Triarc had popo surplus aluminum C-Mores with the integrated A2 rear sights a while back, maybe 2 years.
