The Romeo 4XT Pro is probably the best red dot on the market

- The new Romeo 4 XT Pro is SIG's top-tier red dot. Nothing else in this form factor has the same combination of rugged design, clarity under night vision, and performance with a magnifier. But it looks kind of silly on a Scalarworks riser, so I give it a 0/10.
Right after this video was posted, SIG announced the Romeo 4T Pro, which has the improved glass coatings, and the NV button of the 4XT, but uses a normal CR2032 battery.

Just in case no one is aware, Sig is releasing a 4T pro which uses the 2032 battery. It’s literally this optic with 2032, as far as I can find online for something that hasn’t been released yet. The model number is SOR44101.

i hated the romeo juliet combos 5 minutes ago and as i start this video i’m certain i’m about to buy one (my beliefs are controlled by hop)
The reticle solves the problem that the holosun 507 had. Instead of having a chevron with secondary dots, it has a 2MOA dot with smaller secondary dots. I love this set-up with the Juliet 4. This combo is the golden standard in the industry right now

The 4T also works well on a 22lr pistol. The ranging dot reticle almost perfectly matches at 25, 50, 75, and 100yds

Finally, I've been waiting for you do do a review on this specific dot. I haven't been overly interested in the sig dots, but having a BDC and a NV mode make this an intriguing option.

Glad to see the 4t series getting the recognition it deserves. I have the standard Rome4t in FDE, purchased recently from Sig for $350. Don't have much need for better NV capability so this model was fine for me. It is pure excellence - and phenomenal value at that price. Mine doesn't have a blue tint at all, glass looks great. I've been able to make hits out to 350 - 400 yards with no magnification using the multi dot holdovers. The versatility of the reticles combined with the overall ruggedness, look, and functionality make this red dot stand alone against all other current competitors. Love it!
Personally I think the inclusion of an ARD and sacrificial lenses are a better inclusion than another riser. Most shooters going any higher than a lower 1/3rd typically have a specific build and feature set in mind for a mount that tall. Stacking spacers also tends to be heavier and less sturdy the taller they go compared to a dedicated tall mount. It may sound silly but the inclusion of simple things like the ARD and such are part of why I bought multiple 4Ts when they first came out because it had everything I needed in them for non-night vision rifles. If someone can afford nvgs they can afford unity and etc.

What's interesting is that Sig just introduced the Romeo 4T Pro, which is in every way identical to the 4XT Pro but uses a CR2032 battery instead of a AAA battery.
As for the 4 XT Pro, when it comes to batteries, the quick fix for the AAA alkaline battery would be to use AAA Lithium batteries instead.
Overall, great video as it covers many key points as it gives a very even-keeled review of the optic.
This should be the top comment, Romeo 4T Pro is the what he should have reviewed.
The 8T is my favorite red dot and due to all your previous videos it's what sold me on buying one

I have a 4H and love it. Im no super stealth operator so it does all I need and then some for a great price. Couldn’t justify getting this one but I’m glad it’s available for those who want it.
How is the 4h on durability. I’m looking for a red dot then I can trust my life with, but I’m not willing to spend T2 money

I got a Romeo 4t pretty recently and man that glass is clear I was expecting the blue tint that I heard everyone talking about but with the sale price i was willing to deal with it and was pleasantly surprised

The 4XT is one of the most feature rich red dots on the market, however Sig’s reputation with red dots does leave some to be desired. But at least they’re innovating unlike other manufactures. I would love to see an Aimpoint T3 with various reticles built-in.
This, if I could get an eotech style reticle in an Aimpoint T3 I'd buy Aimpoint again. Built in hold overs are cool, plain dot is dumb. Until then it's Holosun for me.

@MellowFellowOfYellow eotech style reticles will always be superior with hold overs on rifles from 3yds to a couple hundred. You being able to do it with a plain dot doesn't change that fact.
@@WyattDerpTheNotSoEarpI mean, the M5B allows for elevation dialing and you can customize the turret for whatever sub tensions you desire. IMO, that’s better than a generic pre-determined reticle inside of a red dot sight.

Been running aimpoint for years because of the longer battery life, but often times I miss the eotech reticle. When I saw this come out I replaced my t2 and have been running in with an aimpoint 6x mag, both on Unity mounts. Great multipurpose dot for my 14.5”. Performance under nods was comparable to the t2, tbh I was a little worried about how it would do based on the regular R4T but this is for sure my fav red dot currently. Eotech reticle with aimpoint battery life and great under nods. Only thing I miss is the brightness setting adjustment knob on the t2, not a big fan of the buttons on top for the Romeo (mainly for us snowbirds with gloves on 1/2 of the year) but i can manage. Solid review bro

The only real practical one I have is just a cheap'O bare bones milspec a2 carbine with irons. I still like to learn about all the fancy stuff though, and keep up on the news. I've watched this video a few times. Ended up buying the Romeo 4T Pro (CR2032). I have a few EOTech's and a T2/Unity combo, everything else is LPVO. Running the 4T Pro on an MCX Spear LT 11.5", absolutely LOVE IT! I can't get over how crisp the donut of death in this red dot is compared to an EOTech. I have an astigmatism but damn, SIGs got some magic! I run my T2 with the OEM blacked out front closed, two eyes open. I set the Romeo up the same way with the blacked out front over and actually prefer the donut over the dot. I may like the Romeo more than my T2. Might buy a Romeo 8T too! Love your videos! 🖤

I’ve owned a lot of cats, I’m not really concerned about the puking on its own but if it normally never craps anywhere but the litter box, that could be a sign. Hopefully🤞there’s nothing wrong and you’ll give me a nasty reply about wasting your money at the vet, but better safe than sorry

@@jake9705 I’m not sure how expensive it would be or available in your area but there are some vets that’ll make house calls. Idk if your mom or anyone at the house qualifies as a senior citizen but some vets will do it for seniors too, especially if they have trouble leaving the house.
4T's rating was without the solar panel. There's no good way to measure how much battery life the panel gives you. Good to see this finally hit the market! And I think you'll like the 4TPRO even more if you like CR2032s :)

I’m still a fan of the Romeo 4T - the slight blue tint w/ hex cap and better aluminum housing is my preferred setup and for a non-NV it’s a great value.

Given all the T2 alternatives coming to market, I think a comparison on mount height would be interesting.
While they all have the same footprint, many have varying amounts of material resulting in a *slightly* different height from optic to optic on the same mount. Especially the Holosuns with the tray style battery compartment.
My Romeo 4T has super clear glass, no bluish tint and the night vision is great. I didn't know they had an updated version or even knew there was an issue with older 4T's. I must have an updated one since I don't have one of the older ones like you described it to be.

I was saving up for a T2, but this checks all my boxes. Just ordered one for $444.
I bought one as soon as they became available. I love this optic, you can really tell the quality compared to say a Holosun. Not to hate on Holosun, I do really like the 503g. The only downside I have with my 4xt pro is that there is a slight more blue hue looking through the optic compared to my 503g. It’s more of a slight annoyance than anything and given the features of this optic, I feel I can overlook that.

I bought a 4T and it doesnt have the blue tint like what I saw in the video. I really like this red dot. Good middle ground between Holosun and Aimpoint.
I came for the cat, but the SIG 4XT Pro comparison to the other products was cool too.
I have a sig 4h. It's okay for what I need it for which is Plinking. However, I learned that the buttons get fucked up when they are on top of the optic too. My verdict is the sig buttons on this T1/ T2 clone are not good.
Would you do a review on the NorthTac magnifier and P12 1/3 CW combo if you ever get your hands on a set? Would want to hear your opinions on it and point out any bad things that may be on the set because I've been aiming for it in a long while.

He has. Its crap under night vision but ok for the money.
I prefer the Romeo4H low mount absolute co=witness with my iron sights on my AR9 PCC for close quarters and out to 30 yards !!! It is one sexy battle carbine to look at while strapped in sling and all !!

The real application for this is as a led acog piggy back to share battery resupply. Micro footprint compatability is oversold. Besides the actual t2 and holosun paraglow acss, all other dots i am aware of have have a taller body so it wont line up with the flip to center on a unity mount. Dont care if it still works, or if it is a better value, my ocd wil not allow me to buy this for non piggy back.

Saw cabelas has a listing up for a gen2 Romeo 5X. Has a similar body and mount to the refreshed 4 line.
I realize this is kind of nit picking, but EOTech's battery life still doesn't seem to be there with the XPS3 only being rated at 1000 hours. Do they still drain batteries when in standby mode? The 553 I had back when did... Nothing like picking up your rifle with an optic that would automatically go into standby after 8 hours only to find the batteries that hadn't seen a lot of use are stone dead.
We use to pop the covers off just to break the contact and keep them from draining batteries in storage...
I plan on buying the 8t soon and I would have also bought the 4xt pro if it had a good battery instead of a trash one. Unfortunately it looks like im gonna have to find a different small red dot instead.

Russel Phagan made a video of these on Inrange and there is a 4T Pro that uses 2032 batteries instead of triple A's. Good luck finding one however.
The Romeo 2 also passed sage dynamic's drop test..... I wish Sig would make an attempt at an acro competitor. I know there is holosun but Sig makes an attempt for their higher end stuff to be more us assembled with less / no Chinese parts.
Sig optics absolutely use Chinese parts. For all intents and purposes they're the same as holosun. Only difference is location of manufacture. Quality wise they're identical (which is to say they're both pretty damn good - I'm not ripping on holosun).
Edit: Apparently I was misinformed - only their lower end optics are Chinese.
They do make an Acro competitor now... well, sort of... the Romeo-M17. It's pretty specific to P320's that lose the rear iron sights (they were going for a .gov contract), but I wouldn't be surprised if they release a more generic version eventually.
@@mikeharvey9184 The romeo 2 is a quasi accro competitor, but it has a shroud and not a true enclosed emitter.
@@asdfghjk2933 Some of the lower-end Sig dots use Chinese dots, but the 4T and 8T series are entirely US-made with the exception of a Japanese circuit board.
@@asdfghjk2933 For their lower tier optics they do use Chinese manufacturers and parts. However for their high end optics they use Japanese (the electronics iirc) / US parts and are assembled in America. I can't link the info on RUclips but you can ask Sig yourself if you want to. They want the gov to use their hard use optics. I wouldn't be shocked if some components are Chinese or have touched the Chinese supply chain, but I don't think it's a "all or nothing" distinction.

Sig ships these bad boys with an alkaline Energizer Max AAA in the box, and makes reference to alkaline AAA throughout the manual.
I understand Mr. Hop's reason for using lithium, but I will run what they provided and see how it performs.
They typically only leak when installed in a device that is not used AT ALL for a very long period of time.
Hi Hop, I really enjoy your videos. I'm wanting a tube style dot as an offset for my LPVO on my competition AR-15 and also on my big bore revolver (500 magnum). If price was not an issue, which would you recommend? Romeo 4T Pro or the T2?
Id probably just go 4t pro, the t2 is an old optic, so unless you really want a dial for the illumination, the sig will give you more features and stuff in the box. The T2 is good, but its very basic compared to the 4t pro. Plus money is an object so for the savings you can get yourself an offset mount and a 4t for the same price as a t2 without mount.

Can I run the Juliet 4 magnifier with the Holosun ELITE HE503C-U-GR?
Both have same height 1.63. Although the lens size for the Juliet is 24mm and 22mm for the Holosun.
Will the 2mm lens difference be a problem?
