i read that: morbol's do not have teeth, they're thorns used to hold prey while they use poisons and acids to disolve and drink their prey alive. ouch. also there us a brilliant fight video against a malborro in the FFXIV trailer. lookit up :D
Two things. 1: The Malboro Wand doesn't inflict status effects directly, no weapon in XIII does (unless you count Stagger). It simply prolongs the duration of the status effects Vanille casts while in the Saboteur role. 2: Minus points for not making note of the Malboro's 9th incarnation and their unique ability to fly like friggin' birds!
They were each called Ocho in FF1 and Molbol in FF2a(FF4j) in USA. ¿So what wonders if there's a Mint Morbol that can actually brush its many teeth in its big mouth with a giant toothbrush held by its tentacles?
After reading a short story by Ramsey Campbell's, "The Inhabitant of the Lake" (1964) the visuals are dead on. The entity is called Gla'aki and written as a part of the Cthulu mythos.
Ah, you forgot Carrot and Cassie! They're named malboros that feature as bosses and are sometimes referred to as runaway pets. (What sane person would keep these in the house, anyways? -_-)
Ha, when I see those for the first time, unless I have recently saved, I run for my life, unless I know I am prepared (with, like, at least a good amount of people beeing protected from status changes).
I can't directly recall if it was the Malboros, or an offshoot of them, but in Tactics, they also had the ability originally called "Moldball Virus", which was renamed in War of the Lions as "Malboro Spores". This attack was arguably the worst thing that could happen to any character in the game, as it turned them, PERMANENTLY, into a Malboro. 100% irreversible. Any progress you had made leveling up your jobs, all that job-grinding time? WASTED. I learned to either just stay away from them and attack from a distance, or just save before entering a zone where they might appear as enemies
After playing every FF that came before 14, and avoiding them like the plague on my first class I'm 14 cause of horrid memories AV was my own personal hell tho they are not that bad in 14 still have bad memories, farming malboro tentacles In 8 for doomtrain was my worst time and the cry they made when you encountered them sounds like a really evil troll laugh.
It gives all sort of status ailment with the stupid Bad Breath and sadly it's Marlboro's Tentacle were a sought after material in most of the FF, I remember spending 2 hours fighting multiple of this vulgar being for it's tentacles.
This is my most hated enemy in all of final fantasy made even worse by FF8 where I had to actively go out of my way to fight them for mats to summon doomtrain.
and the FFXV came and made them both better and worse, you can now spot them and avoid them (it seams, maybe if you ignore them they will attack eitherway) buth within figth, they still seem like they are bloody deadly by the way Mrhappy, when you talk about FFXII can you include Revenant Wings in it pls, many Summons and monsters appear in that game that didnt appear in the original, and that Bahamut is one of my favorites since it has a spear and is one of the best Yahri in the game
"Bad Breath" a reference to smoking.
The king of debuffs.
The King of assholes
you forgot to add, in FF7, you could learn Bar Breath from Malboros if someone had the Enemy Skill materia on them
i read that: morbol's do not have teeth, they're thorns used to hold prey while they use poisons and acids to disolve and drink their prey alive.
ouch.

Lol same here, I always thought of cigarettes when thinking of them as a kid
Malboro: "Feed me Seymour!"

Nothing about Malboro's in FF14?
They were each called Ocho in FF1 and Molbol in FF2a(FF4j) in USA.
¿So what wonders if there's a
Mint Morbol that can actually brush its many teeth in its big mouth with a giant toothbrush held by its tentacles?
I had flashbacks when you mentioned the ambush malboro for FFX.....
After reading a short story by Ramsey Campbell's, "The Inhabitant of the Lake" (1964) the visuals are dead on. The entity is called Gla'aki and written as a part of the Cthulu mythos.
marlboro? like.. the cigarette?
Bad Breath is so deadly
Malboro's missing attack in every FF game: "Non elemental lung cancer ailment status" that can only be affected by "Nicotine breaker" item
What’s your thoughts on the cut event Cerboro (Cerberus Marlboro)
Imagine three bad breath attacks at once
it's named after the ciggerettes
Both are insanely toxic... makes sense to me!
Levianthion Users of said Cigarettes also have 'Bad Breath'.
illuminati
SeEpiN And Free Masons. Beware the Shriners...
I didn't see it in the list so you may not have done it, but I'd like to see Deathgaze (deathguise in 9)
Ah, you forgot Carrot and Cassie! They're named malboros that feature as bosses and are sometimes referred to as runaway pets.
(What sane person would keep these in the house, anyways? -_-)
Rich people
Everything that i hate and fears
Personified
My comment would be, what's your favorite status effect? Mine's everything!
I wonder if they will put n a Audrey , or Audrey2 named Malboro into 14 as a reference to the Little Shop of Horrors.
I used to farm malboros in FF8 to get to level 100 on all characters
Thanks for the vid!
Nice stuff! I love your Bestiary series! You should do the Yagudo from FFXI some time!
FF12 brought back having pet names for Malboros
YEA! love this series. MrHappy could you please do Moogles next??
Also appeared in FFVII , and you could learn bad breath as an enemy skill.
is it pronouced BEST-ee-air-ee or BEAST-ee-air-ee?
@MarkisTG It's Bes-chee-airy
Ha, when I see those for the first time, unless I have recently saved, I run for my life, unless I know I am prepared (with, like, at least a good amount of people beeing protected from status changes).
malboro pet would be OP.
do Garuda
I always thought they looked like giant octopuses
Hey mr Happy just wanted to let you know in case you did not know yet, they already added the new pvp sets of gear on the FFXIV app!
I can't directly recall if it was the Malboros, or an offshoot of them, but in Tactics, they also had the ability originally called "Moldball Virus", which was renamed in War of the Lions as "Malboro Spores". That's some Atlus level bullshit right there, yo. O_O
love your vids keep it up
they appeared in vii
what about Ochu.
Marlboro, Malboro. Coincidence?
Then I watched the video lol
the most hated annoying monster...
you forgot to mention that in 12 someone had one as a pet that you had to hunt surposely they can be tamed but who whood want one as a pet ?
No reference to the horrors of Aurum Vale in FFXIV‽‽‽
Funny that on World of Final Fantasy it can be ridden with the ability Joyride, both Malboro and Malboro Menace

Yis! Moar!

by the way Mrhappy, when you talk about FFXII can you include Revenant Wings in it pls, many Summons and monsters appear in that game that didnt appear in the original, and that Bahamut is one of my favorites since it has a spear and is one of the best Yahri in the game
So you deliberately glaze over or ignore FFXII in every one of these lol?
XII was...different. Most of the usual FF roles were relegated to cameos in that game...
In FFVIII, they were called Xylomid. Well, at least, in the french version of the game...
