thanks for doing the review, like Jason said....your playing is fine, entertaining, good narration, and i can hear what pickups sound like...that's what matters most.....but it sounds like your nut needs to be reset because it's in tune nice up the neck a little, but your open cords are out...sounds like kind of new strings settling too, and like it needs a little intonation work...
i could have been out of tune.... i don't remember. and the mic used for this I think was just the mic on the phone so it sounded distorted and warbled. I should probably delete this file. I did not like the loud mouth. they were muddy, so I ended up replacing them with regular humbuckers.
@@davids6679 well thanks for doing the video...you did a really good job of informing the viewer of which pickup settings they are hearing.. but does the loud mouth sound better to you through that phone mic than in person then?...it sounds really good to me on the video, and i am just about to buy a pair, but i haven't yet...
@@davids6679 i will wait until i hear back from you on it... if you could give your opinion on whether or not the muddiness is an easily EQ correctable muddy, or if it might push one's tone stack a little too far to sound natural....appreciated, thanks.
@@davids6679 and then if it seems EQ correctable within reason, do you think a matched B/N pair would be fine ? there; assuming possibly the Mean 90 might be enough on the bright side, relative to the loudmouth, that it might have been the tone miss-balance that had more to do with your decision than the relative mud ?
@@davids6679 i should add that i do like a slightly top boosted sound, or i want to go into my gain stage bright, and have the clipping knock it down more flat...but i do have a treble boosting tone control, on a peddle, before i hit the gain stage.. also i have a "tight" control with the peddle, which is like a high pass, to roll off bottom end if it's a little boomy..
Thanks for this review. For some reason GFS has no reviews of their Loudmouth pickup.
I liked every position besides the loudmouth on it's own. It paired nice with the mean 90 in the neck though. Split and full
