Bushmills 12. Nose: Stewed apple, cinnamon, ripe figs, prunes. Palate: Honey, golden raisins, marshmallow, licorice, caramel, milk chocolate. Wow, this is really good stuff and surprisingly flavorful despite the low ABV. It is very sweet due to the Marsala finish and as such would make a great after dinner whiskey. This is a delicious and easy sipper and would be a great intro dram for anyone new to whiskey. 8/10.

I hadn’t had bushmills 12 before and very pleased how different it is from the standard bushmills.

Bushmills 12: The malt shines through. It does seem a little one dimensional compared to the others with the other flavors being drowned by the malt.

Bushmills? That's Protestant Whiskey. The price is right, isn't it? Make it neat.
My experience with Irish whiskey isn't shaped by religious politics. It's limited by a misconception that Irish Whiskey is a lesser product than bourbon or scotch. I mentioned after Day 11 that Yellow Spot is my go-to Irish, but the Silkie and Bushmills 12 are going to make me broaden my Irish experience. Of the 3 Irish samples (2,11, 15) I rate them in that order from worst to best.
I was surprised that the legs were as long for an 80proof Whiskey. Does the age have more impact on that than the alcohol content?
This was quite good for a Protestant Whiskey. 😉 Very smooth, sweet with a noticeable fruit and a hint of chocolate. Any time there is a sherry finish or influence, I'm a fan. I wouldn't describe this as spicy. Was the rich description meant to describe the overall complexity of the sample, or something more specific? That wasn't clear in the video.
MSRP $50-70 I will absolutely buy on the low end and wouldn't say absolutely not on the high end.
A solid 8 with upside. Cheers!

Port Askaig not my favorite. Too much smoke for me.

Port Askaig has to be the worst in the bunch, tastes like they used liquid smoke to get their smoke taste, resulting in a nasty aftertaste.

      😂
This is EXACTLY what I told my husband. Smells like: liquid smoke. Tastes like: charcoal coated in liquid smoke
