Hi Matt,It's Colin I am 79yrs but I always find your lessons so simpe and easy to understand.Really will give this a go when we are allowed back on the Range and course. Thanks
Matt that is one of the easiest swing drills I’ve ever found. I used it this morning on course and hit some of the better shots I’ve ever hit. It works tempo, club face, release and transition. Thanks great work you northern golfing marvel!!!
Matt, you’re the man. I had the worst golf game of my adult life since returning to golf after losing both my mother and father to cancer and this is the exact advise my golf coach gives to me. For me, it has been the best. It is very simplistic but unbelievably helpful in trying to realize what you’re doing right and wrong. Also, this is great for creating a great swing technique while also creating a great tempo. I have always suffered from sticking the nose of the club into the ground and getting fast with my pace. I’m 6’5 and almost 6’6 and I really tend to look for every inch of over extending my arms and the club. For me, this exercise is great as long as you remember to continue the swing path remains out, not in, you keep the right arm tucked in to the body, but mainly you keep your club blows to the ground after the neutral line of the golf balls lie.
Super simple drill Matt; excellent stuff I remember seeing Miguel Ángel Jiménez at Muirfield do just that prior to smashing a drive out of sight. Poetry in motion. Cheers
I have the same swing and sweep my 3 wood and 1 iron off the carpet for practice. This is your best lesson ever and surprised that instructors in general do not discuss it.
Thank you Matt. I used this technique yesterday and it made a huge difference with my driver. The irons and Hybrid are ‘work in progress’ as I’ve now started topping the ball with this swing. I’ll get there!
I really like this one. I suppose that like so many of us, I've watched hundreds of training videos over the current lockdown, but the ones I keep coming back to are the simple ones (my mind is full enough of other stuff already!). Drills like this compliment the Zen golf videos and 'Old Man Pat'. Really looking forward to getting back on the course and the range and hoping that I can put some of the simple things into practice. My son and I have even joined a club for the first time (I am an OAP now...) and I'm hoping for a good summer of lowering scores and handicap. Great video Matt, thank you.
Simple tip yet again Matt. Just days until I'm back on the course armed with all your knowledgeable drills. A mighty big thanks to you for these so helpful vlogs during the lockdown.
It's called KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid. Love that. Also you are right when you say we listen too to many tips and don't concentrate on one teacher. Thanks Matt for reminding all of us.
This seems like a great tip. Have just finished the Ben Hogan book and my swing thoughts are now flooded so great to have something simple and straightforward. Will see what happens at 9am tomorrow 😂
Hi Matt, love the instructional videos, abit of a random one, could you do a video on shots from under trees? Wether it be long shots or chips? Process or technical, really struggle if I miss the green and roll under a tree. Keep up the good work 👍
II have already tried this one, thank you Matt. I do over think my game, shaft lean, weight on the left side, not falling off of the shot etc. I can pick my irons off of the tee. I am just inconsistent from the mat or fairway. My swinging round the body from an upright position is okay, it's just when the movement is trasfered to the ground i have trouble. lol .
Thanks a lot Matt, it open my mind that golf swing should be easy. Big question fr me, for back swing and down swing, which hand you use most? Right or left? Like swinging ax to cut the tree, easier for us to use right hand for back swing and down swing. Thank you so much in advance. - Wie
Great video matt do you know any practice swings for people with back problems please? Iv got a fused neck, lower spine and hip (I know the terminator 😂😂) my problem is iv having to adapt and learn a new swing, but it's not generating enough power behind it. Cheers Matt, stay safe
So in the example you swing around your cheast and from there you have to get used to swinging from around your cheast and drop it to a lower plane which is more around your waist?
Nice and easy but this will not stop the next million videos from coming out about the mechanics of a golf swing. Just wish it all was kept as nice and simple as this so we could watch more golf videos of you (professionals) having fun on the course
Hello Matt, I seem to have the worst consistency with my driver, my irons I hit very well, although not far. Can this drill help with the driver? If so please demonstrate. Thank you.
Great lesson Matt. I get bogged down in this notion of hitting down on the ball way too much and strike it much better by just “swinging” through the ball.
Hahaha. This is great, but I imagine when I show my girlfriend this, she is going to have even more baseball in her swing. This is class! So simple, and just tells the body where it needs to be.
There’s no point in having the perfect stance, take away, back swing etc etc if you then undo all that good work by casting, swinging out to in and flipping through impact!

I just discovered this video and it's a big help to someone who has been messed up in the backswing.

Makes so much sense and it's so simple
Miguel Ángel Jiménez does have a great rhythm in his swing. Thanks for the drill, Matt!

that's actually a great training drill. making the swing feel natural and simple
Excellent suggestion Matt. Thanks.
Nice and easy - and hopefully as easy out on the course.
Super simple drill Matt; excellent stuff
I remember seeing Miguel Ángel Jiménez at Muirfield do just that prior to smashing a drive out of sight. Poetry in motion.
Cheers
best tip ever. just tried it on the course and it worked, especially with driver

Great drill. Good warm up. Simple I like it.
Huge and very simple, but effective, tip Matt... Makes complete sense and takes all the guess work out.
Another great lesson from Matt 🏌🏼♂️
Great Tip, so simple. May the Swing be with you....
Great video.
Cheers Matt
Excellent tip! Let the force be with you! 🏌🏼♂️
Nice and simple. I like simple!
The tips were marvellous too Matt👍👍
Nice one Matt will practice this drill. I've been topping a lot of my iron shots. I think this will help 👍
Such a great video. Great lesson, Matt.
Great video Matt
Excellent lesson
Belting video Matt, not over complicated simple but oh so effective 👏👏 cheers
Cheers Matt, great drill, shall work with this on the range on Wednesday before i tee off, golf is finally back,, yeah
Amazing drill to simplify the swing... baseball swing even foot weighting through the swing then simply bend at the waist!
Love this, will be giving this a go.
Great tip, can’t wait to try that at the range on Monday, yeah golf again!
Great tip Matt, off to the garden to practise this exercise, also something I will do on the first tee on Monday to warm up
Great drill Matt. Good warm up as well as improving your swing.
It's called KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid. Love that. Also you are right when you say we listen too to many tips and don't concentrate on one teacher. Thanks Matt for reminding all of us.
Fantastic. Cheers
Excellent Matt I’ll be trying that on the range in Conwy tmrw 👍
This seems like a great tip. Have just finished the Ben Hogan book and my swing thoughts are now flooded so great to have something simple and straightforward.
Will see what happens at 9am tomorrow 😂
Good lesson....
Great drill Matt. Something I need to practice before I get on a course next in a week or two.
Swing the force. 💡💡

Brilliant
very nice and simple way to swing
Love that

cheers Matt, will try that tomorrow. my iron play is hit and miss at the moment

Nice
My coach has given me this drill. Would it be worth using the hip movement while doing this movement to get hips firing through?
So in the example you swing around your cheast and from there you have to get used to swinging from around your cheast and drop it to a lower plane which is more around your waist?

Really like it Matt! Like the old saying goes keep it simple stupid! 🍻
You take for granted what it feels like to correctly strike the golf ball and don’t understand why most golfers don’t!
You concentrate on the swing, back swing , and other certain key positions but miss what most amateur golfers don’t understand
Very nice drill and epic pronunciation of m.a jimenez 😂😂😂😂
Effortless + speed 👍
That’s a top of the range range - you can set your T hight Automatically! If a certain Danish brewery did golf ranges - this would be it !
STRIKE!!!
Hahaha. This is great, but I imagine when I show my girlfriend this, she is going to have even more baseball in her swing. This is class! So simple, and just tells the body where it needs to be.
go to lighter shafts...a little more club head speed, and you'll feel the club head weight better...go back to swinging instead of hitting.
Sorry mate a bottle of lockdown red wine and I’m ranting, love you and your colleagues but had to say my piece
That’s my experience of hundreds of pounds of lessons before the eureka moment strike strike strike!
3:40 chicken wing 🤣
Explain the strike and work backwards!
Thanks, penny dropped. 😂
:-)
Don’t force the swing. Why? Because, “That’s not how The Force works.” (Han Solo)
First
the swing becomes paralysed by being over analysed hahaha
There’s no point in having the perfect stance, take away, back swing etc etc if you then undo all that good work by casting, swinging out to in and flipping through impact!
Strike is what amateurs struggle with, explain that and then everything else will start to make sense
You pros just don’t get it!
I’m done with this channel after this video. Here’s the unsubscribe
