Ingredient list : 1 Tbs Vegetable oil 2 lbs Ground Chuck or Beef 1 Egg 1/2 Cup Breadcrumbs 2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce 2 Tsp Garlic Powder 1 Tsp mustard Salt & Pepper to taste Gravy: 1 Onion 2 cloves garlic 1/3 cup all purpose flour 2 cups beef broth Salt and pepper to taste Starting by mixing meat, seasonings, egg in large bowl and then make your patties. 2 Lbs of meat should make 5-6 patties. In hot skillet, add oil and patties. Sear about 2 mins on each side until brown and then remove from skillet. Now add sliced onion and garlic and cook until fragrant. Then add flour and mix until well combined. Add your beef broth and mix until well combined. Bring to a boil Now add patties back and lower heat to a simmer. Cover and cook approximately 30 min until patties are done. Enjoy
You make these exactly like my grandmother(and me now that's she's passed)! Braising them in the gravy is the secret. We always called them gravy babies.
I made this tonight but I used ground turkey instead of ground beef and it was sooo good. I also used a bit of Butter for the gravy and it came out rich and creamy. This is definitely my go to recipe now! Thanks!
