Hey nice review, and a same kind of install here .... 🙂 ...
Just placed new Nest Protects on the ceiling of my upstairs and downstairs hallways replacing the old ionization detectors there before. And even happened to custom name them the same as yours, lol. ...
But just really hoping I can get away with only two of these protecting the house as the cost is a real killer (for my present finances anyway). $119 each from Home Depot. So obviously I can't afford to place a NP in all the five bedrooms as well where the 5 remaining cheap ionization detectors are still located.

Why doesn’t the nest protect say nest in the middle on the front white button?

I don't know. I assume it was a branding choice by Google. None of my other Google/Nest products have prominent Nest branding either.
