Bought this as my first half-frame camera and after watching your vid, I have no regrets! I'll test it out soon - great thing is that I'll be clicker-happy with those 72 shots
Nice video. I have Olympus Trip and I love it. It has zone focusing and I get extremely sharp images. I almost ordered one of these from Etsy but then I realized the fixed focus. So there will be out of focus images like some of your photos. I think I must invest a bit more to a EES model, because I really want to have control of the focus distance. Though they are not cheap these days…
That camera brings a smile to my face too. It’s terrific if you’re trying to generate grain with fast film, as you’re at an advantage with the half frame to start with. Superb camera and optics !! Great vid mate !
Great little camera Paul! I'd love to have a half frame, I check this little one and locally it sells for over 120€, so you definitely got a great bargain!
Quick question about the aperture f-stop orange/yellow numbers on the side, do they only apply to flash mode? Or are they a separate entity as in purely for manual shooting mode ie. I can choose my aperture knowing the fixed shutter speed is at 1/40. Thanks in advance.
Great video of a great little camera ! Beautiful images too ! Paul, why don't you do a book of Olympus Pen images and show people what great camera's they truly are ? Have you watched any videos by Japan Vintage Cameras ? He has a few Pen repair videos and they are really pretty easy and basic to work on. Thanks for telling me about this video and I am hearby requesting more ! I think you should get a Pen or an S (first ones) for all manual versions. The easiest S to find has a 30mm F2.8 lens, but they made a 28mm F3.5 model S as well. The first Pen has one strap lugs and was farmed out to see if they would sell. They did, so Olympus took over and the second Pen had 2 strap lugs. But the S is the best manual one and easier to find. Thanks again for the awesome video of my favorite camera and please do more !
Great video, Paul!! I have one of these, or a similar model, and I enjoy it! I've basically given it to my young daughter now because she loves it so much too!!
My father's selenium light meter died just recently. When not in use, it had spent its time in light tight box, and hadn't see much use in the last 20 to 30 yrs. Now with that being said, it was bought around 1955, so I'd say that Oly camera of yours hadn't see much action untill you got it...
Thanks for the video, made me think I have a Gothic F model with the 40mm 1.4 lens unfortunately it’s seized up on me and now doesn’t advance film, hopefully it’s fixable because it’s in mint looking condition, will have to research where to fix it in Australia, but a beautiful little camera, cheers.
I like that and may have to look into finding one. I have the Pen F digital and it is my favorite walk about shooter when I have the 14-40 f2.8 PRO lens on it.
Hi, new sub here! Thank you for sharing your lovely story. I’m planning to get my first film under this series of half frame. (PS: I only have disposable camera experience) May I know which mode do you shoot in for those shoots you shown in the videos? I’m planning to use Kodak Gold as my first roll, do you have any recommendations/ tips for this combo? Thank you!

Thanks Larry for the feedback & ideas.
Lovely camera must take mine on holiday this year. The roll of 35mm Portra is rarer and more expensive!
I have one because of your first video of it :-) I've also just received your new book :-) Cheers m8 :-)
Hope you enjoy it!

Hi! What kind of flash do you use with this camera? I want to buy one and don't know what!
thanks you so much!!!!
Lovely cameras...I'm lucky to have the original Olympus Pen and an Olympus Pen FT, I won't part with either of them.
Nice!
Cracking wee camera I have the trip with the selenium cells just a good camera 📷
Does it work without it ? Is it possible to get the photos? How?
@@sie7efotos yeah mate from
