Definitely has been very useful. I used this camera some months ago and it turned out that all the taken photos has a lot of noise because I selected the wrong settings in the selector. Thanks a lot for the explanation
Couple of tips - make sure film is winding. The film spool holder on left should turn as you wind on. It doesn’t in this video - clear sign film has not been loaded correctly. Also don’t stop at 48 with a 24 film. Traditionally there are always a couple more shots in it - just be gentle when winding on. When it won’t wind you’re done.
As far as the number of shots, you're probably right. I just like to be safe about it. For the left side winding, it did begin to wind with the wheel after the slack in the canister was taken out after a couple shots. Good looking out. 🤙
Mine has three ‘distance settings’ marked on the side of the inner barrel - mountains, 3 tall people, a nicely cropped portrait head shot. Didn’t hear you mention that. Good rundown on an odd little camera.
Thank you for this video! Do you have pictures that you took using the Aperture focus setting? Please make a video on it and i would love to see the result! 🤩🤩🤩
This video really helped me operating the camera, but unfortunately when I went to get the pictures from the film I was told there are no photos on the roll.. I thought I did everything right but I guess not, do you know what could cause it?
That’s actually super helpful! Just bought the pen-ee one and get a stiff shutter button when shooting auto, which is a massive shame :/ . But given how difficult these bad boys are to come by, it might be worth shooting manual instead
My EE3 blocks the shoot if the photo is underexposed, but if I shoot the floor, it fires always, even with the lens cap mounted. Could you please try this? I can't find if this is a problem in my unit or if it is a problem of this model. Thanks a lot!
mine doesn't do that, it might be the mechanism that the selenium cell is hooked up too, that automates the aperture adjustments. I can't say how easy or hard it is to take one of these apart, but technology connections has a video about the camera with a teardown, and my best guess is that some of the parts in your camera are loose and shift when you tilt it lens down.
great vid! i was wondering does this lens with selenium meter needs to be covered when it's not on use? does it will damage the selenium meter if we keep the lens open all the time? (not covered by lens cap)
I've heard that you do have to cover up the lens or store the camera in a dark place to avoid long term damage to the light meter as it tends to lose its accuracy if exposed to sun for a long time or something like that, but I would suggest doing some more research tbh
yes, it's better to cover it, and the camera usually comes with it's own cover. I bought mine really cheap on a flea market and the selenium does not work, probably because of long exposure to the sun. I can still calculate the aperture to a 1/40 speed, but is not always accurate
Yes, I just got mine last week and took it to a camera store to get it repaired and cleaned. The guy told me the light has been mutilated this means people does this to take photos in low light without using flash. And he got it repaired. Before that the red tongue wasn’t showing and afterward it’s showing
400 is the highest it will go to use the automatic adjustments correctly. I honestly don't know what would happen if you put 800 film in it. My guess is that if you set it to 400 with 800 film in, all your shots will be underexposed by a full stop.

Thank you so much for the video! I have just inherited from my dad so let’s see 🤞🏼
I've had mine since 2014, still use it to this day. Great small camera that fits well in your coat pockets.
I had this laying around since my parents golden days. Will definitely try it out

Oops, mine is just an EE not an EE-3.
I have the ee2 & also has the mountains, 3 people, & the portrait mode
To my knowledge the one with focus selector is the s version, ees and ees2
Hey man! Helpful video- even for the Pen EE. I bought mine for the same reason you mentioned actually!

Just got mine on the way! Will come back again to this video. Very helpful!
Thank you for this intro! I just got one off ebay. Appreciate this walk through.

Thank you for this video!
Great video! Any type to get the propper exposure on manual?
Thank you sir for the video.
The series of numbers on the other side of the lens are flash guide numbers. A system not realy used any more.

So far I have not had a cover on it and no issues have come up.

How do you use a flash on this camera?
On eBay, I noticed that all the pen EE3s’ aperture blades don’t close completely…? There’s always a small hole of light. Is that normal? Thank you! 🙏
Good question KT. Even with the aperture blades slight open, the shutter blade behind it is completely closed.
@@shoot_move_edit gotcha, thank you!! :)
Can this camera use outdate or cine film?
yes, you can change the iso according to the film you use
If the red tongue is not showing when i cover the lens, is that meant the sensor is not working?

Is 400 ISO the max you can shoot with? Can you use 800 film with it?

You mean over exposed by a stop
