This is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!! I have 2 CamNova’s and they are awesome, but.. I’m wanting to mainly use something to record in OBS to cut down on editing time for a podcast, and maintain different scenes/camera angles to switch seamlessly without recording via camera and having 2 different files and having to edit them in Together. CamLink 4K it is..
Cool video Ken. Thanks for creating it. However, wouldn't going with better quality be the winning 'bet' in case you wanted to extend your offering to include higher-end video production?🎰
Did you take into consideration that cheap card can only capture yuv2 in 5fps , and cam link 4k should be able to do 60fps 1080p, wouldn't it look a lot more different?
The difference is the possibility to record to OBS in 4K 30fps natively. I've got the 40€ regular and it's excellent but it is noticeable for the details and the colour skin tone.
i was just thinking if there was any videos about this because i was wondering if it's even worth to buy the more expensive one. but i might go for the one that doesn't cost so much, since i just want to try it out anyways, maybe in the future elgato could be the choice. so yeah! thank you so much for this!
Will the Elgato - Cam Link allow quicktime to record at 1080p-60 on a mac? I have the generic capture device, it will only go up to 720 -60. I use Quicktime to copy my hi-8 camcorder footage on my mac.
Did you test latency? Latency on the generic cards tends to be much worse, to the point that your lips may not be synced to your audio.
Is the Camlink set to capture 4K30fps in the comparison footage or 1080p like the generic?

I have a Windows 10 PC and plan on streaming with PS5 and OBS Studio. Which capture card can i get for $100 or less? 🤔
Elgato
can the camlink give 1080p 60fps with low latency for streaming/recording?
According to the specs. Yes.
What will connected this to my zv-e10 add? Works fine now into eCamm.
Also macs do not have USB - will I need to also buy a separate adapter?
USB-c adapter
So I recorded into eCamm with my zv-e10 in 4k via cable. Looks great. Why would we also need this adapter?@@KenTheContentCoachYT
best video!
congrats
When recording with the cam link using 4k30fps, I notice a slight delay compared to recording 108060. Do you know how to fix this?
Nope.
Both of them seem to be completely out of focus on your face?
They were in focus. Maybe just shallow depth of field.

Useless for game streaming and most video calling scenarios.
