Does the top compartment also have a zipper to close it or just a magnet? If it is fully packed, is there any risk that it opens during movement? Or that rain may get inside? Thank you!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Top compartment is just the magnets and then it folds or rolls over from there. Rain shouldn't get in if it's closed properly and the bags are weatherproof, but in very heavy rains we recommend using the Rainfly.
I’ve been using hunting and hiking bags in conjunction with camera cubes for the longest. It’s about time a camera company releases what looks to be a good hard use camera bag for the outdoors. Hopefully I can get my hands on one and beat the crap out of it 👍🏽
Are we gonna (finally) get an update on the Travel Backpack 45L? It’s been like 5 years and no changes to it despite new lines and updates to other bags and gear. Less weight, thicker/wider shoulder straps, the improved Zoom zippers, and maybe an improved collapse mode all seem like doable and welcome updates.
This looks incredible! As someone who hikes/backpacks a ton and appreciates your design I’m excited for you guys to enter the outdoor realm. I could see myself really loving either of these backpacks/slings Count me in if you’d like another product tester perspective, I’d be pumped to take this on some adventures and give detailed feedback! (You miss every shot you don’t take right? 😂)
Wow, for an ad you guys rock. Shame I already have 3 of your other amazing bags or I would probably upgrade to one of the larger packs, you make amazing products (& ads) keep up the good work.
Damn it! I just bought the 30L travel bag yesterday! It was the best peak design solution I could find for hiking and traveling. Couldn’t you have posted this yesterday?!?! 😂 I also bought an ultralight packing cube to put on the hip belt to carry my phone so I wouldn’t have to take off the pack to access it - so love the strap pockets!!!
Well that’s the problem, you see… I already have the 20L everyday pack and was going to sell it when my travel pack arrived, but decided I needed to keep both 🤦🏻♀️ and now… who knows what will happen when the travel ones comes out 😬😂🤪
I have a couple of questions regarding the 25L Outdoor Backpack: 1. According to your kickstarter page, the smedium camera cube would fit perfectly, but there have been reviews saying that the medium cube would also fit, may I ask is that possible? 2. What is the brand/model of the water bladder that is used for demonstration on the 25L version? 3. Is the version being shown a final? It seems to me that the Ultra Cinch Loop tends to dangle around, and worse, would catch tree branches during hiking, would PD do anything to improve it before the backpack is shipped? 4. According to the reviews, the Ultra Cinch Loop system allows access to both the main compartment, as well as a deep pocket in front of it. Under heavy/mild rain, will water accummulate inside the deep pocket as it gets caught via the opening at the top? Many thanks Peak Design for the beautiful design btw.
A carry-on camera suitcase next 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I’ve had my Tenba rolling camera suitcase for years and years and would 100% switch over to a peak design one.
What kind of weight can the 2L sling bag take? Think I could use that as a lens swapping tool? And with the 45L bag, as the zip for the back access probably is not covered by the rainfly, what stops sustained wet conditions from getting in through the zips? If anything could the rainfly end up channeling water towards the uncovered rear access panel?
always loving products from PD. I have more than 10 PD products and this is something i want too! just wondering, how 'thin' is the 25L & 40L when not in used? planning to bring this along in my travels in a suitcase and using the bag only when i reach my destination. current 20L and 30L V2 cannot fit in a suitcase since they have a structured design.
Both backpacks are just a few inches thick without anything in them. For example, I've got my 45L tucked behind my bicycle gravity rack against the wall right now very easily. Just keep in mind that the 45L does have the internal frame so it shouldn't be folded, and the 25L does still have some structure to it even though it doesn't have the frame.
@@peakdesignvideo thanks for the replying. In my future case, I'm thinking of laying this flat at the base in a suitcase and all other stuffs goes on top of it. When I reach my destination, it'll be my day bag when I'm out and about.
Hey there! The backpacks can definitely hold a bear canister; for specific dimensions to compare to a canister you'd like to use you can find those on the Kickstarter FAQ page.
Dang, I bought a Shimoda backpack a few months ago because I wanted a more outdoorsy bag that could carry my Sony 200-600. I keep telling myself I'm not going to buy one of these, but the Eclipse color is beautiful, and that roll top looks super cool... You might end up taking more if my money
Looks cool but when they say no gimmicky suspensions have not tried Ospreys Airspeed Mesh suspension system. It’s not only comfortable but the bag doesn’t sit on you back, the mesh frame does which also heavily reduces back sweat. I’m sure peaks bag will be nice as they always are
Yeah this looks like amateur hour frankly. They said the shoulder straps "distribute weight over a far greater area" when the shoulder straps are not supposed to have weight on them in the first place 🤣. Then they follow up that dumb statement with another about it being the most customizable harness they've ever tested when it is **clearly** less adjustable than any serious hiking or backpacking bag (infinitely adjustable chest length adjustment, memory foam hip belts, hip belt tension straps, better positioned load lifter straps, infinitely adjustable sternum straps, and the list goes on). I'm really disappointed because I was hoping PD would take a page from real, serious backpacks and make a great outdoor option.
Will you make the detachable sling straps available separately? I kinda want just the ability to have those new straps on my tech pouches field pouches shoe bags etc.
@@chris31215 oh no, I'm talking about the new kind of strap that comes with their new 2L and 7L slings. The way it splits in the middle and becomes a hip belt, and the fact that you can remove the strap portion while retaining those hooks and attaching the sling to the loops of the outdoor bags. If I could just buy that strap i can do that with all of my packing tools.
Hi Peak Design Team, what a great news. The new outdoor line looks amazing. I'm in love😍😍😍😍. I would like to know if is it possible to have an Ipad pro 11 with the x small camera cub inside the 7L sling bag. Sorry for my bad english
i love some of the ideas but i don't think could quite fit my ultrarunner/climber/hiker/fastpacker/mountaineer/ski tourer. i think the concept is cool, the possibilities are high, but it feels like it's missing something, i'm wondering how is the bag reacting if i run or hike down just a bit faster than normal walking pace, how the weight gets shared all around the body. i absolutely love you peak design, i'm sure after this iteration the next one could be better but i just feel like this can't be what i need for these adventures. i'd be interesting to hear more the feedback of atheltes who happen to take photos rather than photographers who are outdoorsy?
This shows people climbing in these bags, using a bag like this for mountaineering/climbing compared to an alpine bag adds a ton of weight & alot of that weight not where you want it for those purposes. I like the PD slinigs & bags but I feel they really built these for the people that dont leave the groomed trail. I guess that is probably the majority of people that would buy these over an alpine/hiking/climbing bag though.
Waiting for more video Outdoor 45L va Travel 45L. Or will there be updated on travel 45L. I'm currently saving for travel 45L want it to be one only back for my whole everyday to travel uses.
Gonna take advantage of the transparent cloud colorway and make that 25L glow with some LEDs! Edit, Maybe add a magnet holder for the main lid cable. So it stays in place along the pack!
Yep, easy way to tell is if the harness is attached to the clamshell back panel, it's the 25L. If it's attached to the surrounding area and not the clamshell panel, it's the 45L.
Didn’t see the min/max torso length fitment listed anywhere for the backpacks? If these are being advertised as true outdoor/hiking bags, that information is key.
Hope they will release a large camera cube with top opening. Then I will be able to access my camera gear from the top not needed to lay down my bag every time I want to change lens.
You can do this with a small camera cube on top of a smedium or medium (depending on the bag) if you'd like as well. So smedium or medium accessed through the back, small sitting on top of that to be accessed from the top. May not work for your needs but wanted to suggest it!
Woouu this is amazing, I have been photo-camping for the last 5 years, and at the end I made my own system with different brands including the PD anchors for example, this look pretty good and it is covering plenty of the things I need out there, I will definitely take a look, thanks PD !
These are the newer Ultralight Packing Cubes, which we released earlier this year to work with the Travel Line but were designed in tandem with the Outdoor Line. The Original Packing Cubes would still work, they just don't have the same material options as the Ultralight ones.
Wait, isn’t this the same company that makes the backpack that doesn’t have your back? The same company whose owner snitched on our boy Luigi? Yeah well no thank you I’m not buying any product you guys make I wouldn’t even buy a fake version of it even though they’re at every Swap meet in America being sold for $35 instead of $300 ha ha ha. Hope you guys sync and that you don’t havea bunch of your Peek design millions stash somewhere in a hidden bank account so that you could just slither away and be invisible the rest of your lives
I love and own lots of PD stuff. Not many ppl like roll-tops, but I do. Those new bags might look a bit weird at first sight, but the design grows on me 🙂They are both nice, but also a bit overcomplicated. My main gripe is with the roll-top section though - when fully loaded, the cinch closure does not go over the top, so zero protection from the rain, just a magnets? PD could be easily inspired by the likes of Wandrd here. This oversight mostly renders extended roll-top section a moot point here. Or you have to use some rain cover.
I love my everyday backpack but the straps dig into my shoulders and leave visible red marks after a day…and that’s with the smaller bag. I just wish it had better straps and better waterproofing.
I’ve supported six of your past Kickstarters but I’ll be passing on this one. I’m sure the bags will be amazing, as all PD products are, but I’m more of an urban hiker who likes to travel light. Good luck.
Looking forward to seeing this new line. Reviews of pre production items seem generally favorable but (and a big but) I have yet to see any reviews by serious wildlife and bird photographers. The unique nature of that photography and use of long lenses means reviews done to date are somewhat lacking in specifics I see as important to my style of photography. One negative I am sad to see is the lack of a water bottle pouch on the 7l sling. I often live to use a sling for batteries, extra sd cards, a small lens (in case) my keys and maybe a cliff bar or apple. The camera and ling lens on a strap system. But not having a way to carry water limits the time out I will have with this setup. For example I am just back from two weeks of shorebird and seal (the mammal not the singer!! Lol) photography. I went out one morning thinking it would be a one hour walk along the beach. Next thing I know three hours have passed and along with being a bit hungry I really would like a bit of water. But because I have just the camera and long lens and a few items in my 6l Peak Design sling I didn't have a place for water. .... in looking at reviews of the pre production slings I wonder why a water bottle pouch similar to what is available on the two packs wasn't added to the bottom of the sling?? Anyway just a thought for a future update. Peak Design thanks for finally designing something for the non urban photography crowd!
How many designed the harness to be comfortable for long days with heavy camera gear on ones back? I have tried out a number of friends including your own for months at a time and most brands do not cater for long back. There’s no adjustment for the length of ones back or the curvature of one’s back to match and make it more comfortable carrying this weight. Your designs look beautiful and are designed very functional but you seem to let down the comfort of a good system to carry your weight on your back. The hip belts always seem to be an afterthought in accessory and not designed to carry one’s weight on their hips. I hope you have some answers for this because at the moment I’m ditching all the backpacks that I’ve bought in the last two years. I’m looking for a new brand that fits is comfortable to carry the weight even to the point that I’m now looking at going back to a proper climbing Outdoor back pack and fitting my camera gear into that I’m extremely disappointed by the products on the market around the world.
I had luck with extreme comfort with the Klattermusen Gna backpack, its only problem is that has no compartments, but it opens almost fully. I feel like PD got inspiration from their loops
@@cristibaluta thanks. I’m after more dedicated camera back for a large format camera. Backpack this designed to open up to drop climbing rope straight in easily so I could out fit it for camera gear.
These hip belts were designed from the beginning to help balance weight on your hips, so rest assured that's the case. As for the harness system, it's got a ladder system that allows you to adjust its fit so it can conform to your back more effectively. You can also find photos of the backpacks on different sized models on the Kickstarter page!
Hi @@peakdesignvideo so the hip belt is a new design are much more comfortable than the one you’ve had for the V2 version of the backpacks you’ve had in the past? Can I put the bag on the ground and remove my camera gear from the back or do I still have to try to get it from the side? It seems like you backpack are awesome designs for design sake and not for function . I’ve actually stopped using my after a few weeks V2 because of its discomfort lack of adjustment for my long back and overall impractical use being sideloading .

Whether it's an REI or another store we work with, you can always find anywhere that carries our gear on our website's store locator.
The only backpack that snitches on their customers to the feds.
A 65L one would have been elite!
Maybe in the future 👀
Yeah!
Still waiting for a carry on rigid luggage made by you. I’m sure you’ll make an awesome one
snitches get stitches
I’ve been using hunting and hiking bags in conjunction with camera cubes for the longest. It’s about time a camera company releases what looks to be a good hard use camera bag for the outdoors. Hopefully I can get my hands on one and beat the crap out of it 👍🏽
That's certainly what it's meant for 🤝
Are we gonna (finally) get an update on the Travel Backpack 45L? It’s been like 5 years and no changes to it despite new lines and updates to other bags and gear.
Less weight, thicker/wider shoulder straps, the improved Zoom zippers, and maybe an improved collapse mode all seem like doable and welcome updates.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 for continually putting out thoughtfully designed bags created for a lifetime.
This looks incredible! As someone who hikes/backpacks a ton and appreciates your design I’m excited for you guys to enter the outdoor realm. I could see myself really loving either of these backpacks/slings
Count me in if you’d like another product tester perspective, I’d be pumped to take this on some adventures and give detailed feedback! (You miss every shot you don’t take right? 😂)
I can't wait to get this, just recently got into backpacking and have been looking for a bag that fits my modular lifestyle!!!!
Wow, for an ad you guys rock. Shame I already have 3 of your other amazing bags or I would probably upgrade to one of the larger packs, you make amazing products (& ads) keep up the good work.
Thanks! Remember there's always the PD Marketplace if you want to sell one of your used bags and replace it with an outdoor one!
Yeah, BUT I like the ones i have!! 😅 Thx@@peakdesignvideo
Well we do have a return policy if you think you'll be much happier with an Outdoor Backpack!
Well that’s the problem, you see… I already have the 20L everyday pack and was going to sell it when my travel pack arrived, but decided I needed to keep both 🤦🏻♀️ and now… who knows what will happen when the travel ones comes out 😬😂🤪
Any detailed comparison between the new outdoor sling vs existing everyday sling??
Found a good detail coverage: ruclips.net/video/gYRiDjg28v4/видео.htmlsi=S5l97PR6CxmGuZKe
You have rats in the backpack department...NO THANKS...
I have a couple of questions regarding the 25L Outdoor Backpack:
@@cristibaluta 3., exactly, but seems like this feature is lacking at the moment.
Btw I found out in the clip that for 2., it's Hydrapak.
A carry-on camera suitcase next 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I’ve had my Tenba rolling camera suitcase for years and years and would 100% switch over to a peak design one.
In the works 🫡
@@peakdesignvideoamazing!!!!!
How weatherproof are the base bags without the rain fly?
They're functionally weatherproof so you'll be fine in regular rain. We recommend the Rainfly for very heavy rain, and the bags aren't submersible.
Love the look of the new harnesses - any chance these might make their way to a v3 everyday line? Side access is pretty important to me
Finally! So stoked for this. Knew you all would come through eventually. Now just for that roller bag… 👀
Soon.
Amazing idea but a big miss for not making a 65L pack for the multi day hikers
Or a 35L for everyday use. For me the 25L is way too small for everyday use, and the 45L is too big.
Whats the dimensions of the packs? Curious if the 45L would be Carry-On Compliant as well. Now That would be awesome.
always loving products from PD.
RETURN, REFUND, REVIEW. ZERO STARS
Are the side pockets accessible when wearing the pack without having to dislocate my shoulder to access a water bottle whilst on the move?
Can it hold a bear can? If so, what ones? Also what are the size ranges for the torso and hip?
I’m also waiting for a camera bag company to make a big bag with a mesh like suspension system and a sane placement for a big hydration bag.
Don’t nobody wanna buy this😂😂😂🐀🐀🐀
what's the weight for the 25l? Looks to be an amazing product!
From the KS comment section, here's the official reply:
Backpack 25L
Without (optional) hip belt: 1.15 kg
With (optional) hip belt: 1.4 kg
1.15kg without the optional hip belt, 1.4kg with it
Will you make the detachable sling straps available separately? I kinda want just the ability to have those new straps on my tech pouches field pouches shoe bags etc.
I believe some of their straps are available as individual pieces. Especially in their camera line.
The zipper over the roll top would be nice.
When will y'all release a dual-camera strap setup?
What is the color on the inside ? Is it the standard grey color liner or is it the outside fabric color ?
Would the 2l sling fit on everyday backpack fronts?
Technically you could do this, but it wouldn't be as graceful of a solution as it is on this line, since it's a built-in design.
Will it be possible to use the new slings in the front configuration on existing Peak Design backpacks (Everyday, Travel)?
Technically yes, but it wouldn't be quite as graceful as it is with the Cord system on the Outdoor Line.
@@peakdesignvideo as an owner of some of your older bags, id be interested in how I could adapt the new slings to the older bags!
So excited for your new offerings! You are now the Apple or Arc’Teryx of the photography community-master of design systems!
Only thing they are offering up is your personal information 😂🤬🖕
Waiting for more video Outdoor 45L va Travel 45L. Or will there be updated on travel 45L.
I'm currently saving for travel 45L want it to be one only back for my whole everyday to travel uses.
Love it, but without the side access it's not for me, at least not as a camera bag
Gonna take advantage of the transparent cloud colorway and make that 25L glow with some LEDs! Edit, Maybe add a magnet holder for the main lid cable. So it stays in place along the pack!
I wonder if this bag would work for a weekend camping trip bringing a sleeping bag, a small tent, and an inflatable sleeping mat
Doesn't seems to be any effective cooling system on the backpack 🤔
Does the 7L sling fit an 11" iPad? 👀
Dimensionally it will yes! But note that there is no dedicated sleeve for it.
Dang I wish I had this during my trip to Switzerland a couple months ago!
Can you add the sling 7l to the front of the 45l? That would be epic
Yep! Sure can
Backing now, will i receive the backpack on October?
Probably not until January or so; you can find more info on fulfillment times in the Kickstarter FAQ
Great new line!
Love you peak design. your product are really good
Love you more
2:51 is this the 25L?
@@peakdesignvideo, does the small on top of the smedium or medium you’re referring too is for the 25l or 45l
I'd really love to see a dedicated video about the 7l sling and its internal organization features.
We'll add it to the list of vids to make!
Woouu this is amazing, I have been photo-camping for the last 5 years, and at the end I made my own system with different brands including the PD anchors for example, this look pretty good and it is covering plenty of the things I need out there, I will definitely take a look, thanks PD !
Are these packing cubes the same as for travel line or different?
Same ones
These are the newer Ultralight Packing Cubes, which we released earlier this year to work with the Travel Line but were designed in tandem with the Outdoor Line. The Original Packing Cubes would still work, they just don't have the same material options as the Ultralight ones.
@@peakdesignvideo @chenseanxy thanks for clarifying ...
can I attach an ice ax on the back?
Might have missed it, but I’m needing minimum and maximum dimensions for airline travel, please!
Both backpacks are carry-on compliant!
Lightweight with less padding is great. I still carry a tripod and waterbottle, but not a camera anymore as phones are so good nowadays.
I love my everyday backpack but the straps dig into my shoulders and leave visible red marks after a day…and that’s with the smaller bag. I just wish it had better straps and better waterproofing.
Where can you store a bear canister?
Where can you store a beer can?
When the word 'decades' popped up, I instantly felt old.
I’ve supported six of your past Kickstarters but I’ll be passing on this one. I’m sure the bags will be amazing, as all PD products are, but I’m more of an urban hiker who likes to travel light. Good luck.
Fair enough Tim, appreciate the well wishes 🤙
Price: More than any contents combined.
