  • Which dashcam do I use? That's one of the most common questions people ask me on my channel so here is the answer. I have made over 700 driving videos and consider this dash cam from 2018 to still be the best in 2024. Why? Brilliant image quality. Forget pointless bells and whistles that are marketing gimmicks and often require a subscription service. Image quality is what counts and the footage from this camera is fantastic. Watch a 24-minute-long sample drive here with no commentary or editing, just raw footage • Relaxing coastal drive...

You can see hundreds of videos made with this camera on my channel; all of the front and rear footage in my driving videos since 2018 were shot with a Mobius Maxi. The interior shots are from a GoPro Hero 4 silver (yes, it's time I updated my interior camera!).
The setting I use is Extreme Fine, not Super Fine as I said in the video. Super Fine is really the standard mode which looks great but has a little less detail than Extreme Fine. The bit rate is 28 Mbps much higher than the 20 Mbps I mentioned in the video.

You can buy the camera here minidvcameras.co.uk/product-c...
The exact one I have is this minidvcameras.co.uk/product/m... but remember to swap the battery for a supercapacitor as I explain at. You can buy the supercapacitor here minidvcameras.co.uk/product/s...
The latest version of the camera is minidvcameras.co.uk/product/m... but that apparently has some bugs like it forgetting the date every time you turn it off. That may be fixed by now, check the website for details.
You'll need a windscreen suction cup mount to put it on your windscreen/windshield. You can buy one here minidvcameras.co.uk/product/m...
Those mounts have worked well for me but if you want an alternative search online (eBay is good) for "Windscreen tripod mount". I recommend the ones that have a suction cup measuring 65mm in diameter. Many of them measure 55mm and those fall off every few days.
The 65mm suction cups are much stronger and only fall off once or twice a year, usually in extreme weather. You can stop them from falling off by removing them, cleaning the window and suction cup and sticking them on again every two to three months.
Top tip - moistening the suction cup with water/spit makes it stay stuck for much longer!
Pedantry Corner - The question people ask me is "What dash cam do you use?" but I'm aware that grammatically it should be "Which dash cam do you use?
News flash!!! The day before I released this video (a few days after I made it) I ordered two news cameras of another kind. I still stand by and recommend these Mobius cameras which will stay as my go-to dash cam but there is one which I needed for filming for RUclips because it performs just a bit better. You can find that video on my channel, it'll be a few after this...
