The installers used road base as material and now I'm finding out it's the wrong material due to drainage. The g2 polymeric sand gets gummy with rain even after it was rock hard after installation. I was thinking of power washing the patio and putting new sand and using a sealer. You think the sealer will help keep the joints dry?
Road base (A Gravel) is fine for polymeric sand as long as the levelling layer was not stone dust. This is a common complaint of G2 polymeric sand it seems. It all depends on how the base was prepared, but I wouldnt rely on a sealer to solve your problems. I would install the new sand if you need to, let it sit for 30 days and make sure it is good, then apply the sealer.
@@iamahardscaper what sand would you recommend? Ive had g2 installed for over a year and nothing but problems. My pavers have shifted and even sunken in in some spots so im just trying to prevent it from being even worse.
Why not just use reg Trident joint sand and water-based Trident sealer like cat5 instead of the pains of polymeric sand? Customer request? What is the main reason for using polymeric polymeric vs reg joint sand? I'm in Arizona.
Hi , nice job , what brand on seal you use for this job? Tx.
This was Techni Seal Natural Look Water Based
@@iamahardscaperthank you. 😉
Thank you
🙏
Do you use customer water to do these jobs ?
Yes
Why not use a turbo nozzle with the gaurd?
I’ve been told by this paver manufacturer not to use a turbo nozzle on their pavers 🤷♂️

I personally only install techni seal nextgel whenever using polymeric sand
What does sealing do to pavers? And is it really necessary every 3-5 years?
Protects from staining mostly. Yes, the sealer wears off depending on traffic and exposure to sun.
what detergent do you use
it was Prosoco All Purpose Cleaner I believe
