The return of Spooge! Seems like he was a more together guy before the meth... and before he got his head flattened with an ATM.
Oh wow, I didn't remember him. I do remember Wendy, though. It's like ABQ only has one prostitute.
You were talking about the butterfly effect. In my opinion, Nacho is the most important character in the show universe. His actions in the first episode saves Jimmy, but also brings him in with the cartel later on. He was the one who put Hector in the wheel chair, and when he was about to die he didn’t rat on Gus. If he had, Gus would have been killed and there would be no Breaking Bad. So I think Nacho is the most key player for both series.
The scene with Kim and Mike is so cool, this is one of the only shows I’ve seen where a scene between two of its characters feels like a crossover 😂
I'm so glad they wrote a scene with the 2 of them together. ❤
This episode was directed by Kim’s actress, Rhea Seehorn. Also, it was her directorial debut.
Some might question whether some of BB/BCS’s odd POV camera shots are “gimmicky”, but that shot with the camera mounted on the car door capturing Jimmy as he runs back to place the cone? Absolute genius! I really wonder if it was Reah’s idea.
I love the inside (almost 4th wall breaking?) joke of Kim looking back at us and adjusting her position, since this was Rhea Seehorn's directorial debut.

I love the characters who pick up on their BS and are not fooled by it lol it’s makes it more realistic. Rather than have everyone be conveniently oblivious to their scams
I’ve seen some spot-on cosplays before, but nothing I’ve seen is more terrifying than Jimmy’s take on Trump 😂 (Surprisingly suits him)
There was a "fan theory" that Kim from Better Call Saul and Wendy from Breaking Bad were actually the same person (since Wendy never appeared in BCS prior to this episode). They put them in a scene together specifically to disprove it.
The RUclipsr Ological did a fantastic breakdown of the opening scene - there’s so many details and layers to it. Would highly recommend watching it
Also I like how the connecting houses shows that there is no way in hell Walt would have ever killed Gus at his house. Gus was ahead of Walt almost the whole time until he made a single mistake
YAAAAY of course the first thing i will do on Jan 1st is watching an Elie reaction even before breakfast!

Saul's "temporary" office. Perhaps a parallel to Walter and Skyler's spending their entire marriage in a starter home, one that Walt anticipated moving out of after just a year or two.
God I need the next three already 😭
This episode is all about up close and long shots on the characters; particularly Howard and Gus as we're kind of welcomed into their inner life in a way the show hasn't done to this point.
Literally the episode's first scene after the cold open is the jazz blaring and cool and calm Howard vibing with the camera up close.
It immediately felt intentional on first watch to me having just ended the Nacho arc and starting a new stretch of the season.
And then with Gus the layers are peeled back only to show more layers of protection.
I used to have a sign posted in my classroom. “ YOU are responsible for your own behavior. YOU choose the consequences for that behavior.” You are so correct, behavior has consequences even for Kim and Saul.❤

The security at Gus's house does explain how in BB when Walt came with the intention of killing him he only got a few steps out of his car before he got a call telling him to go home.
I don't know about your anticipation levels, but you're only 3 episodes away from this series' version of "Ozymandias." Have fun!

Props couldn't have happened to a better guy very impressive.
Gus is terrified because he has no clue where Lalo is and thinks Lalo could strike at any second. The audience is just as in the dark as Gus. I love that they keep Lalo hidden during this stretch of episodes.

Theres something that people aren't saying enough (and it's understandable): we have been following this arc for YEARS.
BCS started airing on 2015 and S6 dropped in 2022, meaning: we've been following Jimmy's journey for 7 years. For 7 years we have been rooting for Jimmy and Kim and even tho they showed their true nature (as early as S2 Ep1) almost everyone were in love with both, specially Kim.
A big deal in the fandom was Kim's fate: by the end of S2 it was clear that she is as important as Jimmy and she was a great add3 to the show, which made everyone paranoid about her whereabouts in BB. Why do I bring this?
Again, it's been 7 years of cultivating the characters and having to wait long periods of time. No matter what, you always rooted for them... which is why the finale of S5 was explosive: not inly the showdown of Lalo and Nacho but watching Kim "broke bad".
In 7 years of airing, this is the first time that EVERYONE had the exact same feeling towards Jimmy and Kim: pure disgust. It was really disgusting seeing their scheming. Think about ALL the scams they've done: they were always happy and cheerful and maybe you agree or disagree with their decision but it always was for the greater good.
This is different because they are attacking someone for no real reason, even Jimmy had doubts at the start.
So I 100% understand and support your feelings but imagine that having 7 years of baggage with them. To me it was inner turmoil because I spent so much time loving them and making theories with other people only for them to pull this shit (btw I love it and it's great TV but my god, it's unwatchable XD)
I mean I never felt in love with them, seeing their early scams was unpleasant so this big scam was not that surprising and just confirmed how terrible they’ve always been but then again I only watched the whole show a few months ago and not following them for years
the people at the da office were unprofessional they heard rumours about Saul and then believed the rumours without having any evidence
Eli, please try not to get to upset about the shenanigans going on against Howard. It does make for great TV.

Kim definitely has some qualities that Jimmy lacks but that line about sterner stuff has never sat right with me; people downplay what he accomplished with Tuco in the desert in not only saving himself but the two skaters, and overrates the extent that Kim has a handle on things.
But I've been raising the alarm on Kim since season 2.
Not that I didn't like her but I found her too susceptible to Jimmy on her own accord due to her own desires rather than the truly more reasoned party; with how ahead you are you know how Mike's presumption comes back to bite them.
I don’t want to give anything away but yes it gets much worse
Kim has now fully broke bad. I hated to see her fascination with sleezy Jimmy.
Saul's office is now a bar. After being yelled at by the Karen who lives at Walter White's house I went here for a well deserved beer as it's pretty close by
I'd be a Karen if I had to live in that house. Bad vibes.
@imaspoon4522 to coin a BCS phrase I was between a rock and hard place. I arrived mid afternoon hoping nobody would be in so I could take my snaps without fuss but 3 people were in the front garden mucking around with either Halloween or thanksgiving decorations.
I thought it would be ruder to just take photos without saying anything (and I was by myself) so I thought I'd make myself known first - politely - but it was a waste of time.
Haven't been yelled at that badly since I was a child. Seriously. What a cnut
