What sold me on the KK Cob was adding their fan brought the total to the same price as the Bobo BUT KK Cob's fan pushes air through the lense/face plate while the Bobo fan only puts air on the forehead. The heat build up is in the face plate. Plus the KK's fan has its own battery so it doesn’t drain on the strap battery. I also like the top strap on the KK for more comfort.
new to the meta quest family, so this video helped me out allot. Thanks a million brother. Now on a quest to find a store which sells the KKCOBVR in the Netherlands. Seems we are stuck with m2 head straps only over here. Really strange.
I was looking for a new headstrap for my MQ3s and the BoboVr S3 Pro and M3 Max were ticking all the boxes , but once i discovered the KKCobVR Q3 Pro at half the price and with more adjustment features , i was sure i'd found the winner . I haven't tried either of the BoboVR headstraps but i would find it hard to believe it's that much better than the KKCobVR Q3 Pro . It fits perfectly , Weight distribution is spot on and very well balanced and the battery life is fantastic . I couldn't recommend it highly enough . Well actually , i can . Get it now !!
I kind of agree about the Q3 Pro especially about backward compatibility with the B2 batteries. However at the moment especially in Australia being very hot and humid in summer a fan is actually essential because it gets very hot, sweaty and uncomfortable to play and the Quest 3 lenses constantly fog up due to humidity so I can’t see anything( get very annoying). One thing I miss about the Quest 2 is the BOBO VR F2 fan that I could use with the M2 Pro solved the issue with fog and uncomfortable heat. Seeing that being in the UK 🇬🇧 where it is colder climate a fan won’t be needed or even wanted but for me the BOBO VR S3 Pro is a very welcome and needed accessory due to the hot weather and terrible humidity. BTW the fan noise IMHO isn’t really an issue if using headphones with my Quest as I won’t be able to hear the fan with headphones in my ears. So for me I chose to buy the S3 Pro instead because I’m in desperate need of a fan like I used on my Quest 2.
there is that fan with reversible flow (X3 ACF for Q3). good to take humidity out without drying your eyes also, doesnt look like S3 pro will give you much. it doesnt ventilate inside the mask, just your forehead. pretty underwhelming stuff looks like
Unfortunately I bought the KKc and my son bought the Bobour S3 Pro. When we play the same co-op vr games with both batteries fully charged, his Bobour battery outlasts the KKc by quite a margin.
I just got the BoboVR M3 Max, which replaces the M3 pro. It's quite comfortable, and it comes with the same 10,000 milliamp hour B100 battery as the S3 Pro, and it was only $50.00 on Walmart. I ran it for about three hours last night and still had 64% left on the bobovr battery, and my quest 3S battery held the same charge, it didn't drop a single percent. Great head strap. Great battery. Great price for me... That's a win win win.
Great content. In terms of the batteries on the bobovr, worth noting that the new batteries charge at 30W per battery on their charging stand so you can charge them from 5% to 80% in an hour and to 100% in 1.5 hours. You can also charge up to 3 batteries at the same time. Not sure, but maybe the 30 watt charging is what necessitated the move to a new battery. Definitely glad you mentioned the backward compatibility but I didn't buy a previous version so I don't have that axe to grind. Planning on trying a two/three straps, but after a week with the bobovr s3 I'm impressed. Very comfortable and the fast charging 10,000mAh batteries make me think it's going to be a keeper. At first I thought it was too heavy, but after pulling the back of the strap lower on the back of my head I realized how it was supposed to fit and it was much lighter... I'd like to try the KKCOBVR though, looks like a very cost effective solution, but the bobovr s3 really feels premium.
I have the Bobo m3 and I agree it feels very rushed not nearly as polished as their last few products. Which is a shame because I also have several extra batteries laying around so I don’t want to upgrade to the m3 pro. I may try that kkcobvr q3
I agree, at least on the BOBOVR vs KKCOBVR. I paid £42 for the M3 Pro and was disappointed with the battery. It would have cost me another £26.99 for a second battery, whereas the KKCOBVR cost me £35.42 ($42.99) and I already have one of their batteries for my Pico 4. I ran it for almost 2 hours last night, after which the battery was down to 2 lights, but the Quest 3 was still at 100%, which is damn good. With the M3 Pro, I could see the Quest's internal battery draining after as little as 15 minutes, even when all I was doing was updates and a little browsing. The S3 at £81 was a non-starter. If I wanted a fan, I could buy the KKCOBVR one in addition and it would still be cheaper than the S3 and not add drain to the battery.
New to VR and actually have my first headset arriving tomorrow, a Quest 3. I will be using this pretty much exclusively for sit down flight and racing sims utilizing a link cable to my PC. I currently am very pleased with my dac/amp full headphone sound and mike solution and plan on continuing to use it for my gaming. Looking at the available aftermarket vr headset headband/battery offerings for the quest 3 it appears that the BoboVR s3 Pro and the way it sits on the head and with the higher height of the side straps over the ears that this may be the best choice for combining the vr headset comfort and fit w/external battery with a full size headphone solution. Do you agree with that assessment?
I use my Sony Pulse Elite headset with my KKCOBVR Q3 Pro. It is a very similar strap to the BoboVR S3 Pro, so yes, it would be okay 👍 However, the KKCOBVR is half the price of the BoboVR so consider that.
@@MacInVR, I just ordered the KKCOBVR Q3 PRO as per your recommendation for my new quest 3. Amazon had an $8 off coupon on it so made the choice even easier. Thanks for your help and reply, and you earned a new subscriber!
I'm curious. I don't currently use a battery strap for my Quest 3, but I do use a Kiwi Designs comfort strap (the Quest 2 strap with a Kiwi adapter,) and I know Kiwi has a battery strap which they claim is the best one. Have you tried the Kiwi strap?
Thanks Mac for this clear video Does the KkcobVR K3 is good to complete the KkcobVR Q3Pro ? (even if you are not fan of the fan !) Or what is your best quest 3 interface to complete the KkcobVR Q3 Pro ? Thanks😎
Crazy how none of Bobo's batteries are compatible including the M3. Do you notice the fan on the S3 pro at all? I don't know how effective it'd be as most of your face and forehead is covered. AMVR's neck battery only lasts me an hour on Quest3 as it's intended for Quest2, but Zyber's neck battery lasts a lot longer as it's for Quest3.
Kiwi's battery strap isn't on this list but that was my choice, as Kiwi has consistently been a good VR accessory brand for me, and it has been phenomenal. Charges the Q3 while I'm using it and adds at least a couple of hours of battery life. I was wary about going for the elite strap design over the halo, like was on my Q2, but for movement intensive games it definitely feels more secure on my face than the halo did (could also be due to the lighter weight of the Q3, or a placebo effect, lol).

You are not being harsh on BOBOVR at all. Furthermore - the battery LED on the side is useless compared to the dots on the batteries from the older batteries - which was infinitely more useful. I might go new one you just recommended, if available.
@Evilkingus but the boboVR newest battery, the B100, the 10000 milliamp hour battery does still have the 4 lights to test the battery remaining power. And they now have an adapter to allow the older headsets to use the newer battery.
Yea the bovo m3 sucked hated the feel and constantly adjusting it and poor battery life i have the bovo m2 pro for quest two battery always lasted but it seems quest 3 only last like 30 mins and its done so i got the kiwi with the charging stand

Since I didn't have any Bobo products but had been told my GT that they were the best I decided to get the S3 Pro. I agree the fan is not necessary but it can be turned off. The battery life is great tho and the strap is super comfy. I actually got it direct from Bobo for £68!!! But it did take about 2 weeks to come from China.
Big Mac……. Did u test the bobo with the fan on to get the battery numbers? I got the kkcob because of u :) but still interested to know if u tested bobo with fan on or off?
Hello Mac, awesome review and comparison video. I have been using the Meta Quest elite battery strap and have found it t be pretty comfortable, but I only get about 2 hours out of them. I am expecting delivery of my new BoboVR S3 strap with the 10,000 mah battery today. I think you are being a bit harsh on Bobo VR for trying to make a better product for a better headset. I would not expect to use the same steering wheels on my Fanatec wheel base if i decided to switch to another wheel manufacturer. I think BoboVR's choice to not be backwards compatible with the M2 headstrap (which I also own for my Quest 2) probably could not be avoided. Just my 2 cents! Thanks

Hey I bought a Meta quest 3 Battery HeadStrap [it looks like a AMVR elite strap style] with RGB lights in the back has 4.3 star rating + good reviews (6,000 Mah and 10 WATTS with 6 safety charging protection/smart chip feature it says it has) for 10 dollars is that worth it?! and also i attached a 2$ 5,000 MaH, 10 Watts power bank to the back of the battery headstrap it charges directly no charging cables also it's a mini portable power bank its just a small cylinder (In Short The Mini Power bank plugs to the battery headstrap which the battery headstrap charges the meta quest 3, thus the battery headstrap would last much longer to continue providing energy to meta quest 3.) which process that power even more before going to the meta quest 3 itself to improve battery. what do u think? Need your thoughts considering you tinker with other battery headstraps.
@@MacInVR Yes It does indeed work though I notice My Meta quest 3 VR headset slowly Drains battery like 1% every hour or so while the battery headstrap only lost 5% every hour while the green mini powerbank took the most drain like draining 30% or more of it I think.
Finally someone who hasn't been bought by bobo. I have both headstraps, The bobo S3, The KKCobb pro and Hands down The KKcobb pro wins. I don't know what everyone's talking about when they say bobo is the best, no it is not. With the kkcob pro I can get my eyes positioned perfectly. Not everyone's eyes are going to be the same distance, 1 eye might come out further than the other. The KKCobb pro Headstrap Is much lighter also.
I was totally going to buy bobovr but £100... nah... 1 battery... Then I clocked the Kkcobvr and could get unlimited battery swap for 75 (strap and 2 batteries at the time. I could always return if it was rubbish. Long story short, I never returned it. I LOVE IT. Now I'm considering the faceplate with the fan 😅

Loser. Bobovr’s great. What customer service you looking for? Havent had an issue since the M2 and now have the s3, c3, charging dock and 2 extra batteries. @@justanotherdave4835 I get your point, which is fair. I myself can get so pissed of at business practices, that I would support the more customer-friendly choice (if caveats is within reason). Just having no fan, half price, no ridiculous battery-level-led is enough for me.
Taking away some of the bad decisions, they are both very close in comfort BUT the KKCOBVR has that ratchet which let's you adjust how much pressure is on your face. That is the main reason I picked the KKCOBVR 😉

If it works and you're happy with it, then great 👍😃
@@MacInVR Yes It does indeed work though I notice My Meta quest 3 VR headset slowly Drains battery like 1% every hour or so while the battery headstrap only lost 5% every hour while the green mini powerbank took the most drain like draining 30% or more of it I think.
@@MacInVR is that normal? just a question
Sounds about right. The battery bank does all the heavy charging, keeps the battery topped up & the battery keeps the headset at 100%
twice cheaper and can be lfited up instead of the fan, yeah easy decision
Finally someone who hasn't been bought by bobo. I have both headstraps, The bobo S3, The KKCobb pro and Hands down The KKcobb pro wins. I don't know what everyone's talking about when they say bobo is the best, no it is not. With the kkcob pro I can get my eyes positioned perfectly. Not everyone's eyes are going to be the same distance, 1 eye might come out further than the other. The KKCobb pro Headstrap Is much lighter also.
have you ever tryed Kiwi?
altho, i see how KK kinda wins in every way, as it take the best features from both bobo and Kiwi worlds
@@ericison6032 i've got kkcob pro, and i seemingly cant position it right, something feels off all the time..
@@zloidooraque0 I tried all of these headstrap and I can say the kk is the one that I use daily
The forehead pad, arms and ratchet all move so just keep trying, once you've got it dialed, it's amazing 😉
Great video and review. I always knew you loved a strap......O.. never mind.
Cheeky!
It's crazy the battery size for all that is smaller than the battery in most flagship phones
Flagship phones need way less wattage
@@coolertuep right. would be most correct to say "current" tho. and i think "bigger" was the right word.
smaller batteries would just get really hot and most probably burn if you drain them at 2.5A
What about GOMRVR? The KKCOBVR guys dont ship to my country.
I've never heard of that company, sorry 😞
I bought the m3 pro and it's shit. It still has the battery charging sounds that are very annoying. Why is this crap still on the market? And its 70 euro which is wildly expensive. Then the s3 pro, 115 euro wtf. Also customer service is non existing with bobo. Im going with the KC whatever
Loser. Bobovr’s great. What customer service you looking for? Havent had an issue since the M2 and now have the s3, c3, charging dock and 2 extra batteries. Literally all day battery life for the quest 3 even if it’s on the whole day. Literally no other brand/ecosystem can boast that. You’re just a Brokie. Get your money up brokie
how is the comfort between the bobvr vs the kkcobvr since i will have to either get the new bobovr or any kkcobvr the backwards compatibility of the kkco really does not matter to me and while it sucks and i have 6 between all the accessories they sent batteries with for bobo gonna new new ones no matter which direction i go
Please support KKCOBVR. They made the better decision with backwards compatibility, no fan and a lower price. BoboVR just got greedy and stupid.
@@EvilkingusI will if they make the better strap but since he is the only person so far that has used both i wanted to get a good comparison of the product not its price or its practices.
@@Evilkingus yep that is why did not presume to speak for you nor insinuate that you should follow my thoughts, i wanted to know which was more comfortable and that was the only answer i was looking for thanks
Have the bobo M2 Pro for my Quest 2 but bought the Aubika 8000mah strap for the Quest 3; £60 no regrets
Neck battery or strap battery. I can't decide!
Strap 😉
Don't pay For 1 day shipping If you order the KK Cobb VR Headstrap Because I pay for 3 day Delivery and it came the next day. It'll save you money And it will be there just as quick
Good tip, thanks 😊
The S3 pro battery is only 5000mah! Check the info on the battery!
The S3 Pro battery has 2x5000mah internal packs, making 10,000mah total 😉
@MacInVR you only get one battery when you buy the S3 pro! That equals 5000 mah ...
@@MacInVRthey are including the 5000 mah of the internal battery in their marketing rubbish... The battery you get with S3 pro is 5000 mah! Do your research properly!
The BoboVR S3 Pro newly designed battery has a 10,000mah capacity battery. The BoboVR M3 Pro has a 5200mah battery capacity. Please do your research 🙏
I just bought the newest Bobovr M3 Max, which replaces the. M3 pro, and it comes with the new B 100 battery pack, 10,000 milliamp Hours. That one battery has two 5,000 milliamp hour batteries inside for a total of 10,000 milliamp hours, that's the research done. @mrmods7912
Wow. A lot of anger for batteries and a fan. I actually have 6 of the old batteries and I'm not pissed. They are trash on the new headset. I had the bobo fan, and it was awesome during the summer. If you sit on your ass and play, then I understand. Not everyone is a lazy vr player. I get sweaty.
I never sit unless I'm sim-racing, I prefer to move naturally (though I am old) 😂
