    Any Sony shooters like me out there that are thinking of getting the X100V?

    • @britishrose9417
      @britishrose9417 2 года назад

      It certainly has a 'look' to it. If you could name just one reason why this is better than a Sony APSC for street photography, what would it be?

    • @StuartRodwell
      @StuartRodwell  2 года назад +3

      @@britishrose9417 I think probably having the 35mm equivalent focal length in such a small form factor. Plus, I love the way it looks aesthetically, it makes me want to take it out more than the Sony.

      I have the a7r4 and i take out my Fujifilm 9/10 times. It just brings you back to real photography. Not sitting behind a screen editing for hours, just simple going out and capturing life

      Had one for about 18 months, absolutely love it, particularly for street, travel and landscape/architecture . Just took it to Venice and it was brilliant. The minimalism of the small form and the single focal length is a liberating experience. If you are considering getting one, go for it , you won't regret it.

      Agreed, seems like one of the best use cases for a camera like this. Nothing like filling the family album with great moments to look back upon.

    Coming from a sony apsc shooter I have to say Fuji makes cameras that are just so nice to hold and operate.
    If I ever make the switch to full frame sony I might get a fuji as a walk around camera, either that or a Ricoh GRIIIx. Powerful and subtle cameras that are easy to operate and get those spur of the moment shots.

    • @StuartRodwell
      @StuartRodwell  2 года назад +2

      Yes I was looking at the Ricoh too, although aesthetically I preferred the Fuji - plus it has the film sims which I’m yet to experiment with some more.

    I love the X100V; have you explored the film simulation, and film 'recipe' community yet? Coming off of Canon, I find that the 'straight out of camera' rendering is superb and do not spend as much time in lightroom now.

    All of these photos you've taken for this video... are so enjoyable to look at, amazing job! I can't wait for the next video. I have the a6400 w/ the sigma 56mm. I've been wanting the x100v so bad and...this video just makes me want it even more!! Lately, I've been super attracted to different film stock looks, like portra 400, fujifilm 200 and cinestill 400d. I think it's cool you can simulate such film stocks using the x100v. I still have fun grading a6400 photos to match though.. but I'd love that x100v in my hands. lol

      Yes the X100V certainly is a thing of beauty! A little overpriced in my opinion, but a great camera - one that makes me want to go and shoot more!

    Can you compare the Sony and the Fuji when it comes to the color of the unedited photo? For example, if you take ten photos with the same frame, so that we can see the difference in color in the raw photo?

      I was stopping down to f2 for portraits to get a little more separation.
      For everything else on the street, I was at f4 👍🏻
