Nice! We got a flock that flies around my area in San Diego. They sometimes hide in the tree and my yard, and all you hear is them squaking like crazy.
I’ve lived with my first bird whom I got 32 years ago as an open banded untame juvenile cherry head conure. His name is Flapper. It took me 6 months of daily training morning mealtime and evening mealtime to hand tame him. At the time I had no other pets and I was living alone while my husband was active duty Navy on sea duty. Perfect for me to spend every day gaining trust and feeding treats. He was on a seed only diet when I bought him but he soon learned to try the goodies id offer daily. Strawberries were the first non seed food he’d had I think in a very long time, and he still loves them! But he only had a human for socializing and I only had a bird. He is still with me, outliving my severe macaw whom I bought after I’d tamed him so he would have company. He fell hard for her and she kept him very busy for 27 years, even sharing her with me! She loved us both I guess in different ways. It bonded us after her death and he had started allowing me to preen him all over his head and neck after 30 years! He’s been the best pet a person could expect but you must spend a lot of time with them especially if their your only bird. Working all day and leaving a bird alone is cruel. I have 2 larger parrots also, Rio 27 y/o Pure breed Brazilian Blue &Gold macaw & Ozzie 29 y/o Congo African grey (adopted age 19). I know for sure Rio was hand reared and Ozzie was domestically bred like the severe macaw who has passed. We watched the video together me and Flapper!
I see this flock of cherry headed conures near my condo in Glen Park. What is the best food for them? I have noticed some feeders out but most just contain sunflower seeds which is not a balanced diet for these birds.
They arrive like gangbusters and usually leave the same way.They love to fight over access to the feeders,but I love them dearly and they’re very entertaining,beautiful birds!

Very cute birds - but why The Ride of the Valkyries? Wagner seems a bit much for some adorable cherry-headed conures,

Thanks for posting! Can you share what kind of feed you share with the cherry headed conures?
Black oil sunflower seeds,but they are wild birds and travel around and eat various things.
