Dewalt DCS7485 54v XR FlexVolt Cordless Table Saw - Top 5 Things You Need to Know
In 2016 Dewalt announced the 54v XR FlexVolt battery platform, proclaiming that the cordless tools running it would offer the runtime and performance only achievable with corded tools.
To help prove this point, Dewalt has released the DCS7485, a saw with all the features of the popular DW745, but without the power cord.
Here’s the Top 5 Things you need to know about it.
    #1 - COMPACT & PORTABLE
Without the need to be tethered to a power supply such as a generator, the DCS7485 is the most portable table saw in its class, performance-wise. Weighing just 21.5kg while offering you a table size of 485mm x 485mm, it’s optimised footprint allows you to use it in even the most confined spaces. And all the tools are stored on board, again making it quick and easy to move to wherever you need it to be.
#2 - ACCURACY OF THE CUT
It features a rack and pinion fence system, front and rear fence locks and large clear scales, plus a cast table top, all of which combine to give you not only an easy to set up and use saw, but an extremely accurate cut.
    #3 - CUTTING CAPACITIES
It has virtually the same capacities as the corded DW745, including ripping capacity of 610mm. The blade spins at a massive 5800rpm, powered by Dewalt’s brushless motor. The height of the blade is adjustable and it bevels too, from -3º to 48º.
#4 - THE BATTERY AND THE BLADE
As mentioned, the saw is powered by the revolutionary 54v XR FlexVolt batteries, which Dewalt claim will give you a full day’s runtime, cutting up to 92m of 18mm OSB board on a single charge. Of course, if you choose the bundle that comes with two 54v batteries, you can double that up.
The blade fitted to the saw has a diameter of 210mm and is optimised to get the best performance from the 54v system, with Dewalt stating that it will provide you with up to 63% more cutting meters per charge than a standard Dewalt construction blade. It has thinner carbide teeth to allow the blade to pass through timber with less resistance.
    #5 - THE MOTOR
Not only is this the world’s first cordless table saw, it’s also the world’s first brushless, cordless table saw. Brushless motors are more efficient, more powerful and have zero service life compared to brushed motors.
The DCS7458 is available body-only, or in a bundle that includes two 54v XR FlexVolt batteries and a fast charger. Full details are on the Toolstop website, and it qualifies for Toolstop Finance.

When we film with Dewalt we typically need to use their demo models, that's why sometimes they look "real"...

    3 18V batteries connected in series = 54V but 1x mAH
    3 18V batteries connected in parallel = 18V but x3 mAH
    Wow revolution

This thing is garbage, ran down two fully charged batterys cutting 2 and a half sheets of 18mm ply, what a waste of money

The batterys are a con, they work as 6ah if theyre 18v but only 2ah when theyre 54v

When you purchase the kit the batteries are factory new and need to be fully charged before first proper use that's why they probably didn't last long bud.
