Finally someone that knows how to do a review. No unnecessary nonsense just the facts. Thanks
You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
Nice review. I was at Home Depot a few weeks ago talking to the DeWalt rep, I was told to expect a lot of new type of tools that will be cordless. The hint about a compressor was discussed. I got the impression that almost any tool will have a cordless version. As for a 120volt conversion for corded operation there need's to be a step down to 60volt.
Great Video, saw it yesterday and immediately bought one!
one of the greatest Tools on the market. outstanding
thank you for making me aware that this tool exists, was looking for a battery powered table saw since four years
Great review very helpful!
Thank you for your awesome review. I can't believe your video is almost 5 years old and I'm just now finding out about this saw. I really appreciate you taking the time to show us how many rip cuts you could get on a single battery charge with each board. I love so much about this saw, but I do wish this was a 10", but I'm sure that would take more battery life. If I choose this saw, I do want an extra battery. Maybe even 2 extras. I love my Ryobi battery operated brushless tools along with their battery operated 10" brushless compound sliding miter saw and would love the convenience of a cordless table saw. This being brushless too, makes it that much more desirable.
Good video! Straight to the point! I like that!
I do want a converter hook up the battery compartment in order to use A/C just like the cordless chop saw though! Thank you!
I'm looking to replace my older non-lithium tool set.
Man am I glad I waited. These 60v flex volt tools look amazing.
I'll be set for another decade.
Solid review. Thank you!
Great review 👏 many thanks
Thank you, nice video!
Do you know if this saw can’t accept a dado stack? Great job btw!
Great review cheers
I wonder/hope the 9ah battery fits?
Great video
Anyone know if I can use an 8-1/2 blade on this saw? Need a new blade ASAP.
WOW amazing.
need answer cap. My house have 900 watt , can im charged the huge capacity batteries like 60 volt in my house or the electric in my house will drop ?
I couldn't tell when the battery used was shown. was it tested with a 6ah or 9ah battery?
What type of shop vac hose is that. It appears to stay static without any support.
Well done.
will my 9amp yellow flexvolt battery fit in
table saw?
Is the surface of the cut perfectly flat?
Thank you for the review i just get my dcs7485t2 and ill make a review video for the saw 😊
Anyone know the name of the stool the table saw is on? Looks like it might have adjustable legs.
I would guess you can use a standard blade. Does the thin blade make much difference? What are the cost and availability of standard and thin blades?
I got the flex volt miter saw, it work great. I would buy this table saw if DeWalt make ac adaptor that transform 120ac to 60v dc for this table saw. I think it is possible. And may be we can use this adaptor for other flex volt tools and 20max tools line too. Listen to us DeWalt, we use it and know what is best. Made a adaptor soon, I would buy it!
It's great idea!
Patiently waiting for the 120V version that accepts the ACDC adapter that works with their 120V miter saw.
You are aware that they sell a 60 volt adapter right that is made for this tool it is also made for the pipe benders and the heavy duty circular saw I'm talking to a big boy that takes the 8 and 1/4 inch blades like a $600 tool
Hola quiero saber cuanto cuesta esa máquina
Idk why I'm watching the review, I ordered the saw last week!
Nice idea if you really need to cut wood in a remote location or w/o any ac available. But, this would seem a very small target audience. I like my cordless drill, but that is because I use it in all kinds of situations, like in a dark attic in the middle of winter, or in the back shed w/o any power available.
If your buying this just because you think it is a neat idea, I would caution you on this. If you really need cordless go ahead, but these batteries have a finite life and will eventually end up, best case in a recycle bin, and worst case in your landfill. Then, you also are guaranteed to by buying these batteries, assuming you still can in 5-10 years.
Another con, would be the blade. This uses a very thin kerf blade, which will likely reduce the life, and not sure how easy/possible it is to sharpen those blades.
If this saw was capable of both 60Vdc and 120Vac, then it would seem to have a much wider audience and would be a better all around solution. But, since the motor is a BLDC, your now looking at adding the cost/weight of an converter and your motor would need to have different winding configurations to switch between the different voltages (assuming simple diode converter)
If you really need a saw that can be used in locations w/o ac, this is a great option. If you can get ac to your saw, even if you have to buy a $25 extension cord, my opinion is stick with a 120 Vac saw.
Jess Cretney fair reasoning for not buying this saw but what about the positives here? I'm a finish carpenter who works in new home construction and private clients. Most of the time for new homes there 3 plugs, 1 in each floor. So consider this you've got the siding guys, us finishers, and some framers out back building garages who all need power. 15a on 3 circuits. I have the DeWalt 10" portable and now the flexvolt. I'm done setting up cords and running splitters just to trip breakers. Most manufactures will support a battery platform for at least 5 years and that is more than enough time to make your money off this saw. In 5 years I can sell this flexvolt to the next guy with the 3 batteries and probably only end up spending a couple hundred in ownership. Convenience alone is worth that cost. It's expensive but since I've bought the flexvolt miter saw, I've plugged it in twice. I don't even bother reaching for the cord anymore.
Rip red oak , beech , or maple because poplar is one of the softer materials
I just got mine, great machine, it’s a crying shame it doesn’t have a 10 inch blade, as I cut slightly bigger than 2 inch pieces
What’s the material of table top?
Does this model have an option to plug in directly to a power source?
Lol
how long length of wood, total feet length per charge, 3/4" thick plywood or 2" thick wood
Watch the video!!!!!!!
This is a nice idea, but I'd be a little more excited if I could also plug it in. I'd be even more a little more excited if it could charge a battery while plugged in.
they don't have an adapter for the table saw
@@10OZDuster they do got the miter saw tho
Does it have a plug-in option? And can it take a dado stack? I'm assuming it doesn't because its battery op and most tabletops don't. Other than that, it looks like a winner. Looks very tempting.
Slap Stick I figure there's likely a good reason they went with a 60V and 8.25" blade on this rather than doing the 120V, but it seems like a missed opportunity to have set it up immediately with the idea of using the adapter to plug in when available like the new miter saw. If it had that and the battery capability I would already own one of these.
Patrick Houser they are making a corded attachment for it
doubt it can take a standard dado stack. my 10" jobsite dewalt corded table saw can only do like half of my dado stack because of the shorter arbor size. but hey you can do dados up to a quarter in. with a standard blade pretty easily.
"Linear" is the preferred term when describing length i.e. board feet. For example a thousand linear feet of crown molding.
As in length, proceeding in a straight or near straight line.
Lineal refers to generational descendants in a family line.
That's pretty cool, but seems like an exceptionally small market. In most cases I think it would be better to have a small generator and use a more standard portable table saw.
will these batteries work on dewalt 20v max cordless tools?
Yes
This is good for off grid living
People could be working off grid as well.
I’m sold in 2022 ! Home Depot HERE I COME !
What portable battery powered table saw do you recommend in 2019?
I have one and it’s great. Buy the 9ah battery’s.
Would be good to note charge time. If you can charge a battery in an hour, then being able to cut that many feet of plywood & 2 by's would allow you to work unencumbered by charging with 2 batteries.
Isn't the dustports in a portable saw like this, kinda irrelevant ? If you have power for a shopvac, you have power for the saw too.
I see people using a bucket, tipped against the dust port so it collects most of the dust, on the bigger corded brothers, could do the same for this one.
Michael Pedersen I agree that the dustports seem kinda silly. I see this saw used mostly in the field, which would typically be new construction without power, which again would be an open structure. Once power is available then this saw would be set aside I would think.
Michael Pedersen arguably you're correct. Though DeWalt does make a 20V Max vacuum as well. So one could conceivably go completely cordless with dust collection too.
You can place dust capturing bags onto the ports also. The enclosed bottom allows the majority of the dust to be funnelled through the bottom dust port.
their 20V vacuum wouldn't cut it with the tiny 1 inch hose. Dewalt really should make this table saw a hybrid corded/cordless.
Features: Right-hand miter slot is missing. 8 1/4 inch blade, does not accept a 10 inch like other table saws. Battery only; no corded adapter available. Fence, table surface, and throat plate are not dead flat. Miter gauge included is made of plastic.
All that said, I own one, I primarily cut hardwoods, and I think it does a great job, but is not like using a larger saw by any means. I would not recommend buying this if you know you'll have access to a power outlet; the corded 10 inch ones are better. But for lightweight table saw that I can throw in the trunk of my sedan and get going, this thing does what I need it to do just fine. The out-of-the-box setup is fine for most construction work. It comes with the fence and blade aligned to the miter slot. Adjustment is possible, but not necessary. If you want more advanced cuts out of this saw, there are a few things you need to do.
Use a 8 1/4 Diablo finish blade if you want clean accurate cuts. Because of the lightweight of the unit, blade vibration is greater, and even a quality blade with any fewer teeth will leave all kinds of saw marks. The lack of a second miter slot has not presented an issue so far. As with any table saw, I use a home-made zero-clearance throat and a steel fence plate if I need perfect cuts on small pieces. The Allen head bolts that register the fence can be easily adjusted to account for the fence plate. Just make sure you keep the fence aligned to the miter slot.
I don't think this particular saw is for most people, but if you're like me and don't have a truck or work van, and need to work in tight spaces with no power, this saw will do the job. It runs smooth, has the power to cut dense material, isn't horribly noisy like a Ryobi saw for example, and the dust collection works well.
Why could they have not did the saw like the the miter saw that uses 2 60v batteries and then has the power adapter to use 110v line power? this whould allow you to be cordless and corded...the best of both worlds...
I want one :(
can this work direct on 220volt?
can a 20 volt battery be used?
Nope, has to be used with a 60 volt flexvolt battery.
But you can use the 60 volt battery with your 20 volt tools. That's why it's called "FlexVolt". They also have a much higher capacity than the normal 1.5 Ah and 3.0 (or 3.4 or whatever it is) Ah 20 volt batteries.
How long dose it take to charge the battery
Just bought this and the whole motor assembly has a bit of play, not good if you want a very clean cut
People still miss the most crucial point. You’ll need a power supply to charge the batteries at some point, so what’s the point?, Plus using an extractor will need power and hoses
So not exactly power free is it.
This saw should also have a wall plug and battery charger
Am I the only one really not impressed by the sound of the 2" thick HARDwood poplar cut ? (2:31)
It looks to me that RPM is considerably lowering! Doing a strenght test with poplar is kind of funny too. Poplar might be considered hardwood but it's just on the biology level, like balsa wood is considered hardwood. (science.howstuffworks.com/life/genetic/question598.htm)
Try some real wood like maple, oak or ash wood or just say it is suited for softwood, ply or 2x4... Still this is a nice saw for carpenter on the go.
Anthony Thibodeau - All or most table saws make that noise occasionally. Even the 10 Delta and JET Heavy duty saws at my job does this sometimes depending on what material you’re cutting.
was this sponsored by DeWalt ?
What I was wondering also.
A Riving knife is for through cuts, not non through cuts
Not necessarily. The riving knife could be lowered to the same level as the blade for non-through cuts. In fact I've always had the riving knife in that position.
Sorry this one's a bridge too far. Any minor benefit derived from not having the cord is swallowed up by having to maintain yet another type of battery. If you need a table saw were there's no power get a Honda EU2000 or one of it's cheaper clones.
What a dog😃
just what I need ,,, a tool that won't last longer than a battery will, 200 a battery, not bad, that would cost me more than a laguna
no Brasil chegou agora Br é ruim mesmo hein.
Funny they have plenty of tools to give YT people but guys like myself cant go buy any, great job dewalt in making disgruntled perspective buyers out of what were perspective excited buyers ..end of January 2017 before you can get any batteries or half of their flexvolt line.all sold out..dismal at best.!!! keep your overpriced limited tools, I don't want them anymore.
테이블 쏘를 밧데리로 해도 사용상 무방하다 뭐 이런 내용같은데...
Sos un títere.
Number of cuts he claims the saw makes is greatly exaggerated
