The humble circular saw is one of the most versatile, portable cutting tools you could ever have in your kit. Whether you use it for cross cuts, rip cuts, plunge cuts or bevel cuts, it will give you the torque and the reliability to get the job done.
For heavy duty cutting, relying on a power cord was the only way to go. But not any more.
This is DeWalt’s DCS575, the world’s first 54v cordless circular, and this is the Top 5 Things You Need to Know About it.
#1 - IT PERFORMS AS IF IT’S CORDED
Yes, it runs off a battery. But because the battery in question is DeWalt’s new 54 XR FlexVolt, it has the capabilities normally associated with corded saws. For example, it will easily cut 90m of 18mm OSB board. On a single charge. 90m… And DeWalt claims that these batteries will give you in excess of a full day’s runtime per charge.
    #2 - IT’S BRUSHLESS
The efficiency of the motor determines how well a cordless tool performs. So, the DCS575 has a brushless motor, helping to keep the weight down while running cooler and more efficiently drawing power from the 54v battery pack.
    #3 - THE BLADE
Most 18v cordless circular saws take a 165mm blade which will give you a depth of cut of around 53mm to 55mm. The DCD575 is fitted with a 190mm blade which will cut up to 67mm. Just like a corded circular saw.
    #4 - IT BEVELS
Rip cuts, cross cuts, yes it obviously makes those, but it also bevels over to 57º, ideal for cutting roofing timbers.
    #5 - IT’S AVAILABLE BODY-ONLY
We’d recommend getting the bundle with two 54v XR FlexVolt batteries and a fast charger, but the DCD575 is also available body-only if you want to save cash.
It’s worth pointing out that a version of the saw designed to work with a plunge saw rail system is due to be released, the DCD576.
So that’s the Top 5 Things you need to know about DeWalt’s DCD575 54v XR FlexVolt circular saw. It qualifies for Toolstop Finance is available to order now.

Can you show it in use with the rail, I have the dewalt corded plunge saw, will it work with the rail for that without damaging the rubber, does it run up against the rubber exactly the same?

That's correct. At the time of filming there were NO DCS575s in the UK, however the spec is identical, apart from the base plate, which we pointed out in the video

Hi Toolstop, several webshops in the UK seem to have the DCS576 in stock, but you don't and I keep wondering why. Obviously I could get it somewhere else, but I like your webshop and very reasonable delivery charge to Norway. Also, any news on the DHS780 cordless 12" mitre saw?

Yes, I own the plunge saw and several rails, that's why I want the 576 and not the 575.
