You should try fishing or ice fishing on White Bear Lake. It’s very close to Lake Mille Lacs.
Bald Eagle Lake is great for crappie ice fishing! Especially during night time biting.

How come you don’t keep any of the fish you catch?
Mainly just catch and release. Slot on this lake is 21-23" so little bigger then I like to keep for walleye. We did get 2 slot fish though which can be hard out there.

Sorry Cathy, didn't see this comment! How was the St. Croix? I only have ever fished it for Sturgeon. I would love to go out there after their smallies. Bet a tub jig or some crank baits would work good out there. Love using swim baits too. Cover lot of ground and never now what you will find in a river!

What are you doing on Mille Lacs with a 25 horse motor ?
lol...Catching fish is what we are doing. But ya, sure makes it fun out there in the 16ft with the 25hp.
