Awesome Tom thanks for saying it I couldn’t agree more! Everything is so incredibly pressured right now the DNR literally cannot keep up so it’s up to us to catch and release. I’m seeing people in spots I never see anyone and it’s forcing me to think outside the box for locations.
You are the man Tom! Best informative walleye fishing videos on youtube! I live on Mille Lacs so the next time you are up you’ve got a free place to stay!
Milacs is fun. I was there on opener and slayed the the walleye. Going back this Saturday. You've definitely helped me become a better fisherman and I've been at it for a good 35 years. Thanks Tom
Hey Tom, I have been watching your channel starting this year. Thank You for all the videos. I took what I learned from you to and immediately saw a dramatic increase in my fishing game. I was on Milacs yesterday, finished off the evening with some chunky walleyes and a bunch of heavy smallies. Dragging minnows on bottom. Thanks a lot again, keep it rolling!
Help! Come out to Ten Mile Lake just south of Walker MN and show me how to catch some eyes out here. Very deep, very clear water with lots of good structure but catching walleye is difficult...At least for me..
I fish TML too, have been for about 55 years now. I can only say two words about our TML walleye...Nite Bite! Al Lindner turned me on to it years ago. It's so fun. Watch Tom Boley's night walleye trolling videos, it works on TML.
I've been going around Malle Lac for the last 25 Years. Resort were always packed with over flow parking throughout the ditches. Its good to see it's coming back . What really happen to Malle Lac? I've heard quit a few stories.
Great Vid, You are correct, we are gonna have to get used to catch and release. Every lake is over fished, and boring, cept mille lacs, if the DNR had managers that had any sense, they would copy mille lacs rules, even LOW is in trouble, between the nets in canada and the main basin pressure, its bad news for LOW, Kab and ??
I was out on Mille lacs the same day on the north end and it was a zoo up there. Should have gotten away from the crowds. Definitely did not do as well as you though. Cool video!
It would be nice if you could share the depths you are fishing. Maybe I missed it in this video. I saw it on the finder screen shot but they could be from a different video sequence.
Hey Tom, I will be fishing Northern MN starting on Saturday for a week. This week they had low 80s and upper 70s. Next week low 60s for high temps. Any advice for weather swings like that? Thanks
As a property owner on Mille lacs I can tell you the MN DNR are a joke. The reason the pressure is so high on this lake is because the tribe commercial fishes the spawning grounds.
It’s concerning to watch the amount of walleye taken out of Lake Erie. People load their freezer(s) and act as if they’re pulling Kobe beef off their worm harnesses around here... Perch too
I’m not one to keep many fish anyway but all I hear about is how there’s so many walleyes in Mille lacs, so why don’t they let anyone take eyes out of there?
Just a quick note please try and stop the ads in your videos its not anything that im interested in please love your videos and I've had really good experiences there with #9 glow perch jigging raps plus the using the #6 ripping raps in the perch color on that lake
Mille Lacs is cheating! lol Would love to have you out to Green Lake in Spicer, MN to try and figure out where the remaining walleye population is hanging out. Used to be a walleye factory in West Central MN in the late 90s and early 2000s and now it is like a completely different lake both ecology wise and economy wise. Milfoil, zebra mussels, shoreline development (cabins turned to McMansions) has all occurred in last 20 years and the tullibee/perch population collapsed along with the walleyes. Now limit is down to 3 if you can even find them. Extremely deep and extremely clear lake. I only seem to catch a rogue walleye here and there these days out there and the locals have all but given up on Green as a walleye lake. Sucks to see a lake you grew up on go from a tullibee/walleye rich lake with zero crappies or largemouth to a lake with few tullibee/walleye and a bunch of crappies and largemouth taking over. Can still catch 18 inch smallies all day everyday out there but the walleyes no longer hang out in the same regions as the smallies. Maybe they've all gone super deep?
They definitely go deeper in the clear lakes. Deep weeds hold them sometimes but sounds like part of the problem is the largemouth. I’ve heard large populations of those can run out the walleyes.
This is truly fascinating. I fish a lake in East central Minnesota by the name of Goose. Used to be a really good walleye lake, but recently the walleyes are few and far between and the bass are everywhere and massive. Never made the connection until now that the bass might be driving the walleye numbers down.
@@historygeek2587 a lot of people say Green’s tipping point was 1998 when the DNR put in experimental catch and release only smallmouth regs but I think it’s more like a death by a thousand cuts kinda deal. The MN DNR lake survey for Green from the 90’s compared to the one done in 2020 is just sad.
@@nickosteraas yes. Unfortunately we’ve labeled bass almost strictly a sport fish and walleye are usually kept. Leads to a large imbalance. I’d argue we should start keeping and eating smaller bass. I’ve been told they’re not as bad as we’ve been told; we only think they are because they’ve been deemed a sport fish. This could help balance the lakes.
Becoming a big fan of those Kahlins plastics. Appreciate you going thru your tactics. Always end up learning something.
“I’ll do a little slow pan for ya” 🤣 that’s swagger
Keep the daily videos coming, this is the only thing that gets me through work
Awesome Tom thanks for saying it I couldn’t agree more! Everything is so incredibly pressured right now the DNR literally cannot keep up so it’s up to us to catch and release. I’m seeing people in spots I never see anyone and it’s forcing me to think outside the box for locations.
I can tell you really enjoy the solitude of fishing, avoiding large boat clusters and gettin out on lake superior etc.
hey tom. can you make a shirt that has a walleye and says "hooooked up!"
I'd wear that! I love this channel, Ive been watching since there was only 15k subs. Glad to see Tom doin what he loves.
Please make a hat too!
Fish on hooked up! My grandpa’s favorite quote!
I'd buy some for sure
NORTH WOODS WALLEYE.... HOOOKED UP I'D BUY IT.

Great video great information! Awesome scenery !
Another great video Tom!
Another great video Tom. Every video I pick up a new tip.
Agree 100 percent on self policing our walleye fishing and keeping of fish.
Looks like a Ton of Fun !! Hooked up Fish On !
Milacs is fun. I was there on opener and slayed the the walleye. Going back this Saturday. You've definitely helped me become a better fisherman and I've been at it for a good 35 years. Thanks Tom
Awesome video as always! You are SO informative on what your using and doing! Thank you!

Always an educator and a fish slayer. Thanks Tom.
I see you were enjoying a classic bug hatch as well as some good fishing, hard to fish Mille Lacs on a bug free day...
Find em, catch em!
I appreciate your work! And sharing of your knowledge .
devils lake, north dakota checking in with a thumbs up
Hey Tom make a shirt that has a walleye and says SEND-IT!! HOOOKED UP!! CHEERS! FROM NORTH CANADA
Hey Tom if you were there Monday I was probably one of those boats driving by in the background. It was a beautiful day!

Fish are still shallow up there, we caught them in 6-9 FOW on a lake close by there.
Yes!
Slayed them!!!
Great video as usual ... FYI, your link to the Carbon X is broken ... also, no Surly? Mitchell & Shelby I can live without, but Surly?
Tom👍to your comment about fisherman managing the resource. I hate a person bragging about keeping a limit.

Nice video 🎣🎣🎣👍👍✋
new camera!
Gonna try your technique and if I hook up on eyes...I will get a couple shirts..lol
Pull ou the jig sticks !
Wooot
I was out on Mille lacs the same day on the north end and it was a zoo up there. Should have gotten away from the crowds. Definitely did not do as well as you though. Cool video!
You are a beast!!
Just got back from Mille lacs memorial day weekend. Caught 100 walleyes of the dock in 2 evenings. It was on fire
What braided line would you suggest for a spinning reel. I mainly cast and jig.
Hey Tom what depth are you looking for when pitching jigs early season like this? Thanks
Would this be a good opportunity to use slip bobbers with a leach or minnow ?
It would be nice if you could share the depths you are fishing. Maybe I missed it in this video. I saw it on the finder screen shot but they could be from a different video sequence.
Tom I'm kind of surprised you don't wear a self-inflating life jacket when fishing alone.
Hey Tom, I will be fishing Northern MN starting on Saturday for a week. This week they had low 80s and upper 70s.
Next week low 60s for high temps. Any advice for weather swings like that?
Thanks
Hey Tom, why the switch to Fluoro on your jigging rods?
Great vid...btw, the link to the Elliot rods doesn’t work
As a property owner on Mille lacs I can tell you the MN DNR are a joke. The reason the pressure is so high on this lake is because the tribe commercial fishes the spawning grounds.
This is real bad
Great video. That’s my home water. Any particular reason you went back to straight fluorocarbon? Hooked up!!
How do you decide what to set your drag at?
Drag setting for Walleye and Crappie?
What's your favorite knot for braid to fluorocarbon leadership
Fg knot or double uni on bigger stuff
There is still walleyes in the lake? According to the mn dnr there hard to find.. 🤔
Possible muskie follow at 17:23 left of the walleye ??
Sorry, right of the walleye
Good call. Looks a lazy follow.
Hey Tom can you make a shirt that has a zipper neck or something with a V neck, I got a big neck and I like to ventilate also, thanks Tom great video.
Tom I haven't heard you talk much about your 360 lately since you've gotten it??.... Do you still like it?
1 like for every time Tom said Wow or Awesome this video!! :)
Do you use traditional imaging too or just side imaging?
Tom, do you do any guiding?
It’s concerning to watch the amount of walleye taken out of Lake Erie. People load their freezer(s) and act as if they’re pulling Kobe beef off their worm harnesses around here... Perch too
Join a tournament and record it. That would be a great video
Good old tickle tail tommy
Must not be opener because there would be 45,000 boats out there.
I’m not one to keep many fish anyway but all I hear about is how there’s so many walleyes in Mille lacs, so why don’t they let anyone take eyes out of there?
Lots of walleyes to a good fisherman don't mean lots for the average guy
Nice video Tom. Sad state of affair when you can’t keep a couple walleye for dinner. WTF
Just a quick note please try and stop the ads in your videos its not anything that im interested in please love your videos and I've had really good experiences there with #9 glow perch jigging raps plus the using the #6 ripping raps in the perch color on that lake
And the MN DNR thinks there are no walleyes in Mille Lacs. The DNR had a stupid contest and hired the winners. 🙄🤔
Mille Lacs is cheating! lol

@@jacksilgen1561 it’s very frustrating literally zero crappies or largemouth in there 20 years ago and now it’s like an aquarium full of them

Holy cow you exposed the lake man... lol jk
Eww Minnesota fishing 🤮
Hey Tom I fishing Michigan I watched your show on night fishing could not find the link to the lights you put on the offshore's
love the videos but you need to do something about those dirty fingernails. Hygiene bro! Cheers.
