    Timely! Taking care of my morning constitution wondering where I should go fishing on this beautiful day. Looks like it might be battling the high water on Pepin! Thanks James and Pat and everyone at IDO.

    I’ve really never had much luck on crankbaits on Pepin yet we’ve been fishing there for 8 or so years. Would the maiden rock area have some good action as long as the water is high and warm?

      @InDepthOutdoorsTV  4 года назад +1

      Absolutely. That's a great area.

      InDepthOutdoorsTV great thanks, was looking at the charts and down by maple springs as you mentioned could have the right shoreline depth as well!

      @@josephtruskowski688 I always let the wind dictate my starting point. I want to fish the windiest shorelines. No wind often equals a very slow bite.

      InDepthOutdoorsTV that makes a lot of sense and we will keep that in mind! One last question, I’m not asking for your exact honey hole but around 5:30, is that near rush river? Thank you so much for your info!

      InDepthOutdoorsTV James, thanks to your advice, we had been putting limits in the boat throughout May/June. However, with the recent temps and low water, the same areas we previously fished now have no action. Any advice on depth now or stick to the early morning live bait bite?? Thanks so much in advance!!

    Do you guys think it’s to early this year for this high water tactic in early April (early spring this year)? I’d estimate water temps to be mid 40’s on Pepin, it was 40 last weekend.
    If nothing else chasing April bass in the rip rap like a previous episode should be lit right now!

      Look for 63 degree water temps to kick this particular walleye bite into high gear.

    Great content as always guys!! What do you guys run for line when trolling shallower like you were on Pepin? Braid/mono?

    • @InDepthOutdoorsTV
      @InDepthOutdoorsTV  4 года назад +1

      Braid connected to the crank with a #2 crosslock snap. No mono or flurocarbon leader needed. I prefer #20 Sufix 832 for the braided line.

    Dirty water or not the fish will still hit your lures. Regardless of the color.

    When are you guys coming to rainy river again

    • @InDepthOutdoorsTV

      It won't be this spring with the county accesses closed.

      InDepthOutdoorsTV you guys should do a mid summer video on rainy lake because it’s very challenging on the open water
