Maybe undercut the bottom with parting tool when separating, so you don't have flat bottom when finished.

Thank you for the advice, Yes, I separated it using a separator and smoothed it with round sandpaper, and the result was flat and smooth

Beautiful vase, and beautiful wood.
I have checked the wood database, there is a wood species called Keruing, Apitong, Scientific name : Dipterocarpus spp.. Could that be the same wood with a different spelling?
