    Not even watched and the answer is yes, yes you should
    EDIT: Having watched the whole video, still think the V12 is the way to go. Is it practical? No, but then show cars are never practical. In the end you’d have something mad to show what’s possible that can be handy on the drag strip/track/drift course (yes, diesel drifting, you know it makes sense)

    R34 Midnight purple has to be the hardest colour to spray. If memory serves me right there's no given quantity for the amount of red glitter to mix in which is what makes it so hard to get right.

    Hi Ryan, the rattling noise that you can hear which sounds like it is coming for around the top of the dash area could actually be the front inner plastic guards vibrating as you drive along the road. I had a 2013 Amarok 2.0 TDI 420 8spd 4 motion trend line model fitted with a tray back. Mine sounded like a coin rattling in a tin can, very tinny sound. I live in Australia and after driving on our crappy roads (especially the dirt roads) I found that the inner plastic guards were rubbing on the sheet metal, and the mechanics simply removed them and put in some foam strips with self adhesive tape, toy could see where they had been rubbing. I found it by just gently tapping around the front inner guards. Once they put the tape in it was back to being as quiet as it had been from new. And yes. Go with the v12 motor, everyone is dying to see it happen! Can’t wait for the next few episodes to see how it goes! Good luck with it👍

    Perfect home for the V12! I love the idea of doing a proper show truck that you can still drive there and run at the drags. I’d go super fancy on the paint like some candy and gold flake maybe some “kustom” type body work. Put it on Air suspension and 18-20” wheels for that real low rider look.

    Basically transplant the Audi mechanicals to the VW chassis including suspension. May require an angle grinder on the chassis rails. If the suspension is on subframes, maybe adapt the chassis to accept those. Stick in the ZF gearbox you mentioned. Assuming the Audi is on air springs and adaptive shocks, use them. Air tank in the load bed.
    Not sure how much difference there is in interior width, but maybe transplant a chunk of the interior also, if possible.

    Keep the long bed and go mid engine! That way you've got all that weight between the front and rear tires and can keep the 8hp with a short driveshaft.

  • @Sj1bby
    @Sj1bby 3 года назад +1

    Before watching: the answer is yes. If it does not fit, there is room enough in the bed!
    After watching: still the same answer. 3 turbo's and a V12, that would get people's atention... maybe the engine in the bed with a trans-axle wouldn't be a bad idea for weight over the rear.
    For paint maybe something retro like a "Chevrolet C/K (third generation)" sceme with the white stripe/band on the side (wiki the "truck name") for an example. But than use some fancy modern colours. I'd keep the beatup look it's rocking now but I'm one for the @16:00 look :)

    Although the V12 TDI would be a "cool" build, I wonder if the drivability won't be a million times worse. Huge, heavy lump at the front, single cab and a light rear end. Will that not be undrivable if heavily tuned?
    Alternatively, a dual V6 TDI setup could be interesting if you put the second one behind the cab. You've got extra space there anyway.

    great video Ryan, if that V12 TDI fits the frame rails by all means, swap it out you will sell the power train easy from it, as for a transmission if ZF has nothing consider Tremec out of the states they build some of the best gearboxes around that handle power, and you can adapt any bell housing to them and if you need aftermarket support for an ECU Haltech will do custom stuff for you and have all the support you will ever get from any company, My friend is building a DEVIL'S JUICE 🔥 burning car a Camaro he bought new in 1979 5.7 litre V8 with a Detroit 8-71 blower on it and full custom fuel system now with 3 fuel pumps , Haltech is who he is using for it, they are the best at all the custom stuff, plug in all the goods enter your sensor types and everything is on a drop down list from every manufacturer globally is listed analog or digital and they can be mixed together, this car will be about 2000 hp when done, 👍 I am not saying build it like this thats for sure, with Darkside building it , it will be vey interesting and thats why i subscribe to this channel, it is always interesting.

  • @Timoastra
    @Timoastra 3 года назад +1

    Since you want to keep it RWD, you could use a Tremec TR6060 or T56 Magnum manual transmission. It cant "formally" take the amount of torque a tuned V12 TDI will produce, but it is largely used in close to 2000 hp cars. It also has a bolt on bellhousing, tall sixth gear (0,5 - 0,65), center hydraulic throwout bearing (clutch-slave) and is fairly compact. Or use something like an built NV4500HD for maximum strength.

    If you can fit the v12 and a compatible gearbox and upgrade the diffs and stuff , program them to work. Jack it up.... The hubs 5x120 wont resist much , nor the cw s but if you guys can pull it off it will be unique..... Easy is not fun... Hard way is spectacular. You guys did extreme stuff like no one i would say do it... No one will ....
    Manual wont take it eaven the audi is limited in 1st and 2nd gear.... Then chassie strengthen.... Couse it wont hold the beast in place. After suspension beefing it ways a lot in the front.... Rear will be very easy... Like full jackknife stuff ... Like ford corvair effects.
    But if you can distribute some weith in the back gas tank and other stuff u might pull it off.
    Would be something amazing tho. Make it offroad Worthy. V12 ... Power baby .... In a ute ...

    Try put the engine in a A7 or A8.
    Would be intresting to se the power you can get out of the 4.2 tdi or the later 4.0 tdi if you tune the engine like you did with the A5 3.0 tdi that you got to 500hp out of🙂

    Paint it malachite green ( original Sport quattro colour ) lowered on white banded steels 👌
    Fill that big bed with batteries and make it a mega fast e amarok 🤪

    Would the 4.2 BiTDI not be a better setup perhaps ? V12 i think would be a tad overkill. Sure it is a status to have it on your "done" list, but it would be a nightmare on the road unless you can make this 4motion. Interior is a MUST.
