A fond farewell to Fokker

- After a shared history of 97 years, KLM will phase out its last Fokker. Two passionate Fokker pilots share their love for this aircraft.
The last commercial flight will arrive from London on Saturday 28 October around 20:30 CET. On Sunday the last four Fokker aircraft will perform a fly-by during the goodbye Fokker event.

Very sad to see her go! :( Glad and thankful I have been able to fly on the KLM Fokker 70 twice. You simply cannot beat the 'very Dutch' KLM + Fokker combination! Still hoping for that Fokker 130 NG...

A wonderful aircraft. Quiet, brisk, comfortable - big windows and a smooth ride. Gone too soon.
Too right. Smoothest landing for a short haul aircraft (even in 20 kt gusts!), quiet and spacious cabin, and those sexy Tays.
I love KLM and Fokker. They both made a great team. You are still in my heart! And forever will be!

Ik zal hem gaan missen tijdens het spotten. Vaarwel fokker 70 ik gok dat iedereen die je ooit heeft gezien je prachtig vond in die prachtige klm livery! 3x met zo,n toestel gevlogen fantastische ervaring niet alleen zonde voor de Nederlandse spotters maar ook voor degene in het buitenland.. gelukkig heb ik zat foto,s van dit prachtige toestel!
Will be greatly missed. I went on one of the last flights with my father, who used to work on the Fokkers for KLM/NLM & Air UK. End of an era & a sad day.
Indeed, KLM had used Fokker aircraft since its early years.
Great planes the Fokker70 + 100. Very, very, quiet in the cabin.

I flew on this plane once and it was the best experience ever. It was fast, small, and had large windows. Sadly it is gone now😢😧😥😞

My dad is a pilot on the Fokker 50 and works on ”Amapola Flyg AB” in sweden, and i think i have flying with him 50 sectors (i think, or more)
And i can say one thing, if you have the chance to fly this beautiful aircraft, TAKE IT.
I know this airplane from my long jumpseat experience and it is a beautiful sound!

I never had a chance if I loved aviation since then I would have been flying on the fokker :(

Not being from Europe I was curious what this was about. Looks like back in the 90's Fokker (long company history dating back to 1912) in the Netherlands made their own regional jet, but they ended up going bankrupt in 96, this was it looks like the last planes they made. I can assume after 20 years of service its time to retire the airframes, interesting! I always enjoy the KLM videos.
This plane was a workhorse as well. I flew on them countless times connecting to larger airports. Have many memories of traveling on an F70. We lived out in the country near a smaller airport so we always started and ended our journeys on one.

I have flown Fokker 70's many times and have always felt safe and secure. However, I really prefer their replacement aircraft the Embraer EMB-190 - it's just a nicer plane to fly in.

Ja een geweldige Fokker Vloot heeft KLM mede doen komen waar het nu is. Maar ook hier geldt Moving your World. Nieuwe vliegtuig types zullen de legen plaatsen opvullen en zelfs doen uitbreiden. In dienst sedert 1-12-1979. Morgen 35jr getrouwd. En maandag op de 1e vlucht mee KL501 Dreamliner 900 met Bestemming Mauritius voor 3wkn. We gaan een geweldig eeuwfeest te gemoed met onze KLM.

I've always wanted to fly on one. Sad that I might not get that chance. Dammit KLM, first the MD-11 noe the Fokkers... LOL
At least these Fokker 70s are still used for passenger service, unlike the MD-11 with which KLM had the final pax versions.

I wonder if they'll replace it with the CSeries? Does this mean King Willem Alexander won't fly for KLM anymore? Cute little plane. I wish I got to see it in person, but glad that I can watch it online.
