I Played 100 Days Of Stardew Valley With 0 Energy

- Every single starting tool in Stardew Valley requires energy consumption. Except for... the scythe! But do you actually need any of them to complete the community center? I played 100 days of Stardew Valley without tools.* (tee hee) Or should I say, I spent 100 days in Stardew Valley with 0 energy? Does it matter? All I know is that it caused me pain. And, I know that you, the viewer, are here for that.

Real ones know this as the "no tools and the scythe is a melee weapon because Blade said so" challenge
I can't wait to watch this! I feel like I play sdv with no energy all the time but that's in real life not in the game.
I wonder how well that would translate. 🤔
@@Leapalot at the moment it's a lot of watching other people play sdv 🙃
damn real.
Same.
@@Leapalot"I played through life with no energy for 100 days"
I am really impressed with how much progress you made and I would love a 200 days video. My only disappointment was that you did not make a joke about Abigail's birthday
I knew I forgot something!
I would LOVE another 100 days of this
I believe fish pond quests aren't random but determined by fish type and their position on the farm, so you need to move lobster pond somewhere else to get rid of that 5 clay quest
definitely by fish type anyway. I had 6 radioactive bass ponds at some point and every single one of them asked for 5 golden bars.
@@Cheshiregrinn91the position pattern is repeating. You might have just got unlucky
is it? i had lava eels ask for basalt so i emptied the pond and refilled the same one with lava eels again and they asked for something else at the same quest
@@kiwamihollie You can check BlaDe's map predictor which is available at nexus mods, it does predict fishing quests as well
Saltwater crab pot fish always ask for 5 clay for their first quest.
This is such a fun and unique challenge idea. It so quickly goes from surviving to thriving. Like it seems impossible at first, then the gold and level-ups start flowing in.
That first few levels in the mines really was the biggest hump of all. Oh. And rng.
Betting on orange hurts me on a psychological level because the wheel is skewed 75% to 25% in favour of green. Great work, keep it up, never let them know your next move.
I appreciate the suffering you're willing to undergo to provide us with some quality entertainment. I didn't expect you'd get as much done as you did. 😊
Glad you enjoyed! I definitely got a bit more done than I originally expected. 😅
if you want to do 200 days of this here's some tips from someone who did something similar for fun:
driftwood can be put in two different machines, the recycling machine and the wood chipper
In the beginning the recycling machine is fine but as soon as the wood chipper becomes available use that since it gives you more wood per driftwood
If you get mahagony seeds plant them with a floor around them, let them all grow fully and then bomb then and put 1/3d or half through the wood chipper too for a more reliable source of wood
when you get your hands on iridium save up to make a slime hutch, set it up by putting a spinkler next to the bowls, putting down floor on some of the inside so slime clusters don't spawn there and fence the slime in
Make a slime egg press and enjoy passive income
once you don't need driftwood anymore make it so your fishing levels let you craft crabpots for cheap and then make it so they don't give you trash
Take all the low quality fish and turn them into sashimi
Bam
lots of money
that's all I got so far
Thank you for the awesome video
You don't have to wait until the next day to see the tea scene. Just walk into Caroline's back room after you hit two hearts and you get the recipe the next day.
It was raining that day, so he couldn’t view it that day
About Fish Ponds - the fish in there will multiply by themselves if there is at least one inside (and there is space ofc). This means that in your situation it's best to put there the highest value fish which you can get from the Traveling Cart or Trash 😊
yesss, i love stardew challenges like this! it's always interesting to see how different people go about things in a low energy / no energy run. the creativity in getting materials and gaining levels in novel ways are always such a highlight. wishing you the best clay luck for 200 days!
Might be a minute before I dig back in lol
29:20 i love getting hatmouse calls. He's such a scrungly little guy
If it wasn't a 100 days video wheat would absolutely be the best for farming experience. They grow across 2 seasons and you only need natural rain twice (since there are two guaranteed rain days in summer), all you need is to bomb places, plant it and sleep.
In my first playthrough of stardew I actually kind of just hyperfocused on the mines and actually did get combat as my first skill to level 5
Again you've hit things right on the head . As always premium content Leap.
Also to access the sewers it's helpful to trade Omni Geodes with the desert trader for artifact troves
I discovered the wild bait for crab pots trick out of necessity on my first playthrough, where I avoided using the fishing rod because I was just that bad at it. I'm surprised more people don't know about it, given that I am far from alone in having trouble catching fish.
Maybe it's more popular than I know, but that was the first I'd seen of it!
The retaining soil is actually useful. You should have kept it. Summer gets enough rain that when combined with the retaining soil you could have pretty reliably grown at least a crop or two of wheat without any sprinklers or some peppers for poppers. If you felt like gambling a little you could have tried some wild seeds. You would have had good odds of finishing them.
Doesn’t tilling require energy?
@@cynthiabrogan9215 Not if you do it with bombs like he was.
That seems a little bit hard
A little!
Can't even hoe around the valley, devastating
I've theorycrafted it before, it's actually entirely possible to master every skill without ever spending energy.
For farming, you can pet animals, and till land with bombs once you unlock sprinklers.
For mining, bombs.
Foraging is kinda self-explainatory.
Fishing requires you forage up everything for the Crab Pot bundle in the community centre, and unlock the wild bait from Linus to stock them.
For combat, bombs.
For combat...literally regular combat? Weapona don't utilize energy
@@orionweiss5418 True, but... Bombs.
Awesome video, was able to join most of your livestreams from this and this was an awesome recap. I have done my own No Energy Challenge before and I was only levelling up in foraging and combat at the beginning, also mining because of bombing copper... It was really slow in the beginning but it got alot of fun once I got the Napalm ring and could make mobs explode! For the volcano I allowed myself to use the watering can for the first run through, because you can only get a bridge built after completing the dungeon. Then you can enchant all your unused tools with the effecient enchantment and finally use them!
It's sad! If I end up going for perfection I'll have to accept the watering can usage. 😔 Sounds like fun though!
Yeah, I think if you get lucky with which floors spawn, you might get a set that don't require the watering can. But you'd still need to break it out to get the two walnuts to the left of the entrance of the volcano dungeon. I am also not sure of any way to escape having to fish up walnuts that can only be obtained from the fishing rod.
@@slwrabbits can't get into the volcano for the first time without the watering can too though.
Ah yes the good ol' chronic exhaustion sdv run. Just like real life!
this was a great video and went by too quickly! looking forward to more of this :D
Might be a minute before I dive back into this trauma. 😅
omg long-form leapalot video !
One of my favourite of your live streams. You do the challenges I want to do but have no patience for.
This was a great challenge to... never do. 😅
@@Leapalot any plans to continue it or is this done now?
@@LorenMRK13 not sure if I'll do more streams, but I would like to finish this. 🤔
@@Leapalot well I’d personally like to see you complete the community centre!
I was doing a run where I pretended to be Linus and didn't get any starting tools almost simultaneously to when you were doing these streams and it was uncanny to watch how similar our runs went. A lot of the same hurdles, but I was on the regular farm, so getting bombs took the whole first year.
Miserable lol. That's pretty wild though! Hope you had fun!
I'm still trying to get concerned ape to add a way to get past the first lava pool on ginger island without a watering can so a perfection run would be possible.
That would be pretty amazing!
I tried to do a no energy run once and quickly got locked in on my farm from the debris I couldn't clear. Didn't even think to buy materials for a path right away. I also used the combat farm hoping the monsters would drop bombs, but that just made things extra tedious having to wait until night every day only to get nothing out of it most nights.
I turned on combat in another thing I'm working on and staying awake long enough when I'm already done with chores has been so booooring!
Finally! I always saw the livestreams being uploaded and was hoping a video would come out someday
Thanks foe your patience! 😁
I know this comment is a bit late but if you kill all the monsters on a floor the amount of tiles that a ladder can spawn on increases a bunch which could help you conserve explosives
Very true! But the golden scythe only does like 13 damage lol
Congrats on making your next good video! Every time you upload, i get 1 step closer to happiness!
I hope some day you find it! 😅
such a cool video!! already need a 200 day follow up! also saw that u have some vods for a no crafting cc run, have u ever considered turning it into a video like this for us folks w no time? tysm!!
Thanks for checking it out! I definitely have considered it, but I didn't record while streaming which means my audio wouldn't be set up the way I'd like. It's a little technical, but the short answer is that I couldn't turn those streams into a video I'd be happy with/proud of. That run was super fun though, so it might be worth revisiting at some point!
an entertainment suggestion: i wish in the beginning of the video there was a story made about the character design, name, farm name for why no energy usage etc. example stories
1. character has some illness like fibromyalgia and avoids using energy like the plague but still has dreams of living life as normally as possible
2. character has stupid idea that by saving all their energy they can see the world e.g. "kevins small talk the office"
idk maybe some other interesting ideas but i kept wishing there was a story reason why your not using any energy and would have been a nice bit throughout the video :)
"That traveling cart could have had something important for the community center but now I'll never know"
WRONG. Curse of knowledge.
Bug Meat
Rainbow Trout
Wild Horseradish
Parsnip Seeds
Tulip
Bruschetta
Maple Bar
Coffee Bean
Salmon
Battery Pack
Another amazing video! I’m really enjoying this concept. Will you be doing another hundred days?
I made a lot more progress than I originally expected, but it would be nice to see some resolution here. On the other hand... this was painful... 🤔
One must imagine Leapalot happy.
Bro don’t think I didn’t notice that ancient seed on the first day of summer
Krobus sells fish on Wednsdays, some of them can be donated. Some fish are locked behind travelling cart RNG tho
Hey! Loved the video! Curious what mods you’re using, specifically the one that had those “+5 health” notifications on the bottom left, and the strawberry icon thing under the quest marker
That's from UIInfoSuite2! My full mod list is in a pinned comment in my 225 days video and I'll try to remember to bring it to this one later too!
@@Leapalot thank you!!
what's the main focus, no tools or no energy?
Because removing the sprinklers and heater uses energy.
This video help me calm down my angry gamer rage thank u ur so cool stardew valley man
I enjoyed this. when is 200 days coming out? I'm invested now.
It might take me a minute to return to the pain lol
i wonder how much energy you need to spend to achieve perfection
I know I would need to use my watering can in the volcano mine. Probably some other stuff, but I know that for sure.
@@Leapalot I'm sure there are probably days when you could avoid using the can entirely with the right floor layouts, and as for the entrance there's the parrot bridge
one use I know for sure is digging up certain artifact spots
@@bonkersturnip The parrot bridge will not be available until you've completed the volcano at least once
@@Justicetom21 oh fr? my bad
I have 3 farms with one being over 3 years and not on one I can complete the dwarf scrolls... just keep getting same ones over and over 😢
I've never had combat be my first skill to level 5 haha
Someone be my co op buddy!!! We can do silly stuff like this!!!
Last chicken should have been Dessert!
I think I might have one of those that I didn't specifically call out? If not, I need one!
You could call one Elvenses if you didn't have one yet lol. Since you have 2d breakfast you might as well go for the rest of the hobbit mealtimes as well. @@Leapalot
You should have placed the crabpots in the pond, I'm quite sure you collect more garbage there...
Wait the thumbnail
what days does the night market take place on?
Amazing and pretty interesting challenge!
Thanks for checking it out!
Did i miss where you can use the hoe? I was curious how you were able to grow the crops. The hoe does use energy right.?
I bombed the soil!
I thought of that as well, nice job leap😊
what seed is that? the traveling cart looked super helpful! 5 battery packs at once?? insane luck
Seed was 345077286
@@Leapalot big thanks!
Are you really able to use bombs to break to boulder blocking the dwarf?
Yes!
This was such a good video!
What mod is the zero energy thing?
No mod, it was just self imposed!
is it me or is the music a little bit too loud?
WOOOO NEW VID!
38:02 you lost energy somehow
So! I just went back and watched the vod because I think I see what you're seeing. I didn't have any tool use and I didn't eat anything weird on the 9th of winter, but I did grab the stardrop the day before. I think the visual difference in the stamina bar is because of that!
@@Leapalotno, it's because you broke the sprinklers... Breaking things like that, as well as moving chests take up energy. Sorry 😅

don't know if this is helpful at this point, but if you need loads of clay....hoe/bomb the beach in town. you'll get tons.
I'm pretty familiar with clay farming via hoe, but I haven't tried it with bombs. Probably worth a shot! Maybe not in the winter when I start back up though....
Well, Ig if you did just marry Maru recently, but Maru's bombs are better than Abigail's!!!! >:(((
