Great video where was it plugged into however ?.not much on the plug end as many kitchens dont have upper plug sockets?
Thank you for showing this video. Now I understood how to connect them.
You're welcome!
Those lights sound HEAVY!😎👍
Where did you plug in the power cord socket?
Very helpful, though the speech synthesis was inferior to a real voice, which would have pronounced the main adjective correctly. Over. and over. and over. and over.
Oh really thank you I was here starck 🤣
Great vid! Thanks
Lol. Mark the holes to screw! Improves the screwing procedure!
Customer: "How many people does it take to change a light bulb"
IKEA (in a computer generated silly voice): "One, but you also need a MILLION MILES OF SPAGHETTI!"
Thanks for the great video! If I am not able to connect the two power drivers, is it possible to pair one remote to two separate power drivers. I need to set up cabinet lights on both walls opposite of each other.
The remote control does work also as a dimmer switch .
Utrusta ikea
your video is pretty impressive. I have one question for that. where can i buy the led light support? is it at the IKEA?
Hi thanks, Yes all from IKEA, you find all there. Appreciated.
My Ansluta wireless control that I use with the Omlopp drivers doesn't work anymore. Can I replace it with the Tradfri control? Is it compatible please? Thanks
I really wish IKEA would come up with an under cabinet lighting system that was meant to be hard wired AND linkable - with power supplies/transformers greater than 30 W.
I have an 11 ft run of wall cabinets (galley kitchen) that requires under cabinet lighting, which calculates to greater than 30W of total lighting . Using any Ikea system, I'd need 2+ power supplies, and a heap of wires I'd somehow have to hide. Behind/top of the cabinets doesn't work, nor do I want wiring/components inside my cabinets.
I don't need a freaking remote control, dimming, or color change gadgetry... just a simple low-profile LED system I can daisy chain without additional wiring, and a power supply powerful enough to drive it all.
How long the power supply last? Or the power supply charges continually with the kitchen ceiling light? It seems little complicated and a lot of cables and holes and plugs, I am sure you guys can toning of an easier way to have light under the kitchen cabinets. V/r Lexi
Nice video! How many remote control you can be paring?
Logically you just need 1 remote control per 1 transformer power supply, but please check Ikea website.
Is there a way to dim these light even further? The remote control only allows for Low, High, On/Off. Thank you!
It may be possible but the remote control, or better, the transformer is configured that way. Now a days the Hack word is well known, just a question to dig more about it. Something like a rheostat, or smart lighting perhaps.
There is a separate dimmer available from ikea. I suggest using it instead of shown switcher
Does any know if the length of the wires for the lights can be shortened or lengthened? I don't know if it changes the function or output. It would clean it up if you could cut that extra wire out and solder and heat shrink the splice. Thanks.
Beautiful
How can you turn of the lights without a Remote?
I need help with my office shelves!!!!! Pleaseeee
It is easier to put the led lights on the kitchen cabin and than hang the cabins on the rails. And than do the rest like the video.
Yeah. But sometimes a apartment already has kitchen cabinets. And you're not allowed to just take them off the wall if you rent the place 🤣
I think I have successfully paired the lights with the remote but nothing happens when I try to dim, switch on/off etc. any suggestions?
padraigmaca put on fire?
Why you use 2 power supplies?
Does anyone know if you can cut leds shorter? I have cabinet that is 30cm and there is no 30cm IRSTA. I want to buy a 40cm and take 10cm of. Is it like led strips?
I don't have any space at all above my cabinets. there is a wall soffit (also known as a bulkhead) type of a wall that sits right on of my cabinets. so what are my options as far as that part of the setup goes? where can I hide all of those wires but still be able to plug everything in? :(
You can always install the transformer (power supply) inside on the top of 1 cabinet.
Run it through the soffit for a real professional job
Can it be used without a remote and has it always on? Thinking about connecting it to a smart switch
Have you found an answer? Can it?
i wonder if this will work with aluminum cabinets not wood.
We find it impossible to "click" it to its place.Any ideas on what might be the problem?
Gabriella Mádi did you do it yet?
The problem is IKEA. Great system for IKEA Corp, shitty crap for the rest of us.
@@MoulfritProd oh dear not good given their prices
Some people sure like to fucking Moan!
Passing the wire behind the cabinet and up is basically impossible especially when there's a metal hanging bracket near the top. The other option of running the through the cabinet is asinine. There's better ways
Não seria mais fácil prender c fita crepe um pisca pisca..?
Hello, do you know if you Can connect more then two transformers (power supply) together with an intermediate cable? Say I needed more led lights and it passed the 60 Watts would I be able to connect a third transformer with the intermediate cable to have an extra 30 Watts to use as I would
Like to be able to control every single led with one controller. Thank you
Yes, you can add as many transformers as you want to achieve the required output power. To control all lights with one controller the pwr supplies has to be paired together at same time.
There is a limit of 18 pieces if I remember it right. It is written on the transformer
Does it have different light settings or is it dimmable?
It has 4 stages.
1, it's ON 70% of power wattage,
2, 100% power,
3, back to 70% power,
4, OFF.
Is it possible to shorten the flex on the Omlopp LED lighting strips? If not, is it safe to fold them up and put some tape round them? I'm linking 3 strips but have found that the smaller transformer does not work with all 3 connected - it causes the lights to flash - whereas they work perfectly with the larger transformer. Any advice?
You mean cut the wire? I recommend just to fold them and pass a tape on them, no problem at all. Now, the sum of all lights must not exceed the output total Watts provided from the transformer. For 3 Omlopp lights a 30W power supply should work fine.
learn share Thanks for that. I've tried 3 of the 30 watt transformers & they all cause the lights to glad if I put more than 1 in. Am I doing something wrong?
Perhaps replace the transformer, something not right. On this video i have 4 LED plugged in 1 30W PS (transformer) . Cabinets 1x40cm(15") 2x60cm(18") 1x80cm(24")
hello. what is the type of those omlopp black connectors?
Very informative video. However, ikea has slightly changed the models so its confusing to compare to present scenario. Can you please tell all the models (ikea parts) required to make a complete kit with which i can also switch on and dim with wireless remote control. They also have a smart range but i dont want that, the regular led light will serve my purpose. Also i will need two 80cm led strips but there is a chimney(exhaust hoo) inbetween. Looking forward to your suggestions. TIA.
Does anyone know if it's possible to use two transformer and only one remote?
Yes, it is possible, and even more than 2. I guess the limit is 15
Yup, good clear video, but terrible electronic voice. Just sort that out and it'll make it much better
The remote seems to toggle between different intensity of light and if so can it be configured to just "on" and "off"?
Press 1ª time turn it on (low light), press 2ª time (max light), press 3ª time back to low light, press 4ª turn it off.
@@learnshare I think they were asking you tgus as you showed using a second power supply for over 30 watts etc but did you use 2x controllers or 1 ? As 2cwouod be a faff especially if lighting was together
it have sensor switch button ?
I used these lights besides a mirror. Looks great but noticed that when I’m in bed and the room is dark they glow. Does anyone else’s lights glow when turned off? They stop if I flick the plug off.
Why in the world don’t the light daisy chain???
I suspect it is due to ikea wishing to ensure maximum safety by preventing people from overloading the PSUs. The one shown has many outlets, but they also do one and three outlet ones. If they didn't require a homerun for each fixture, you might have someone putting too many lights on a single outlet and PSU, which could be a fire hazard. Their mains voltage strip lights do allow daisy chaining.
I will be moving into a rental unit and you can't drill holes and I think my cabinets go right up to the ceiling. I guess the option is to run the wire along, under the cabinet and right up to the plug. Am I right?
+Chris Harrison You can always attach the power supply transformer inside of one cabinet (top) passing the wires between cabinets. Just drill accordingly the diameter of the wires (on the base and between cabinets).
How do you uninstall them when you move the kitchen to a new home?
Is there a way to extend the LED strip wire if one of my cabinets is too far from the transformer? (other than to splice in a speaker wire or something)
The ANSLUTA power supply cord as 3.5m 11'6", the OMLOPP LED got 137" 3.5m. Do the math, LED to speaker wire i don't know if going to work ;-)
yeah 3.5m isn't enough for me. Ikea doesn't sell an extension? What kind of connector is it, perhaps if its standard I can find one at an electronic/hardware store. Otherwise the only solution is to cut and solder a wire.
The number of adverts is out of control!

How to unpair the controller ?
+Alexandre Yamamoto Remove batteries and plug it again.
where to plug the cord. I don't have a wall outlet on top of my cabinet or is it powered with batteries only?
No batteries, get a power cord extension, is the only way :)
Good, i want parches the light, how to process. Plz reply
Is the lamp have a dot???
This is outdated as the transformer has changed. We could not get multiple lights to work. They flashed like a strobe light.
No, the ikea transformer has not changed.. I just checked the IKEA website and it's still exactly the same. There's a chance you have either the wrong transformer, or it is faulty (my first one was - couldn't get the remote to pair). Return and/or refund and try again.
Mine works with 2 lights, but starts to strobe as I connect the 3rd one. Have you found a solution?
Your prob overloading the circuit
Why one need this lighting. I dont get it. Why dont u switch on kitchen ceiling light & tada u can see every corner of the kitchen without bump ur head to something
How do you hide all these cables
Hi, I have installed three LED light and when I am connecting them into the power supply they are blinking (flashing) what is the problem anyone has an Idea ???!! the power supply has three input for the LED lighs
I'm also having this blinking problem. Are there any solution?
I’m also having blinking problems
Ron Beevis just guessing make sure the connection is wired correctly
Also have this flashing problem; seems when you connect more one light into the Ansluta the dimming function is replaced by one steady light setting and one flashing! Why the flashing? How does one achieve dimming with more than one light input to Ansluta???????
Have the same. Any solution?
Lights look big and bulky. Abit old fashioned.
Where is the plug!?
On the wall, top of cabinets.
Yeah but how do I replace them
This has got to be one of the shittiest product from IKEA. Its flimsy parts and lousy instructions makes this one the most annoying thing to install. Keep in mind you are working under a cabinet and can barely see what you are doing. The cable channels are a total piece of crap and so are the brackets to hold the lamp to the cabinet.
It is virtually impossible to install two channels for the wider lamps. I just installed one. I've bought and installed so much IKEA kitchens and other stuff over the years, I am getting close to saturation point with this kind of stupid design.
Use a real human’s voice next time. Stop being cheap IKEA
So bad all things
But the light is good.
What a messy and over complicated system.
Wires and Controllers just making a dam mess, talk about Amateur Hour
For the ESL student: WATT not WAT, also "led" is not a word, it is an acronym for Light Emitting Diode, or LED, pronounced L-E-D, not "lead" as in the heavy metal. Perhaps your voice recognition program doesn't speak English?

Partshanger also is not a single word and definitely not a name. I bet you sit alone at parties.
By the way you have to HOLD the button on the remote. How about you say it right and now "help" people to wonder for hours. Thanks for no help
THANK you Marta Ducak - I was going crazy over not being able to use the remote, as the IKEA manual DON'T have any information that you should HOLD the button until flash! - But I agree with Adam, there is no need to be such a bitch - it's a great video!
do you have to use the remote to turn them on and off? Or can you just use a socket switch?
did you ever get an answer to this question?
yes can be just a socket switch. the remote is optional.... cant seem to pair my remote to the power supply
@@timkhan6146 Where would you find a socket to plug the power cord in though?
