    I really wish IKEA would come up with an under cabinet lighting system that was meant to be hard wired AND linkable - with power supplies/transformers greater than 30 W.
    I have an 11 ft run of wall cabinets (galley kitchen) that requires under cabinet lighting, which calculates to greater than 30W of total lighting . Using any Ikea system, I'd need 2+ power supplies, and a heap of wires I'd somehow have to hide. Behind/top of the cabinets doesn't work, nor do I want wiring/components inside my cabinets.
    I don't need a freaking remote control, dimming, or color change gadgetry... just a simple low-profile LED system I can daisy chain without additional wiring, and a power supply powerful enough to drive it all.

  • @alexisnicole3965

    How long the power supply last? Or the power supply charges continually with the kitchen ceiling light? It seems little complicated and a lot of cables and holes and plugs, I am sure you guys can toning of an easier way to have light under the kitchen cabinets. V/r Lexi

    Like to be able to control every single led with one controller. Thank you

    • @learnshare
      @learnshare  6 лет назад

      Yes, you can add as many transformers as you want to achieve the required output power. To control all lights with one controller the pwr supplies has to be paired together at same time.

    Is it possible to shorten the flex on the Omlopp LED lighting strips? If not, is it safe to fold them up and put some tape round them? I'm linking 3 strips but have found that the smaller transformer does not work with all 3 connected - it causes the lights to flash - whereas they work perfectly with the larger transformer. Any advice?

    • @learnshare
      @learnshare  7 лет назад +1

      You mean cut the wire? I recommend just to fold them and pass a tape on them, no problem at all. Now, the sum of all lights must not exceed the output total Watts provided from the transformer. For 3 Omlopp lights a 30W power supply should work fine.

    • @lindsayksmith177
      @lindsayksmith177 7 лет назад

Can you please tell all the models (ikea parts) required to make a complete kit with which i can also switch on and dim with wireless remote control. They also have a smart range but i dont want that, the regular led light will serve my purpose. Also i will need two 80cm led strips but there is a chimney(exhaust hoo) inbetween. Looking forward to your suggestions. TIA.

    Why in the world don’t the light daisy chain???

    • @TheducksOrg
      @TheducksOrg 5 лет назад

      I suspect it is due to ikea wishing to ensure maximum safety by preventing people from overloading the PSUs. The one shown has many outlets, but they also do one and three outlet ones. If they didn't require a homerun for each fixture, you might have someone putting too many lights on a single outlet and PSU, which could be a fire hazard. Their mains voltage strip lights do allow daisy chaining.

    I will be moving into a rental unit and you can't drill holes and I think my cabinets go right up to the ceiling. I guess the option is to run the wire along, under the cabinet and right up to the plug. Am I right?

    • @learnshare
      @learnshare  7 лет назад

      +Chris Harrison You can always attach the power supply transformer inside of one cabinet (top) passing the wires between cabinets. Just drill accordingly the diameter of the wires (on the base and between cabinets).

    This has got to be one of the shittiest product from IKEA. Its flimsy parts and lousy instructions makes this one the most annoying thing to install. Keep in mind you are working under a cabinet and can barely see what you are doing. The cable channels are a total piece of crap and so are the brackets to hold the lamp to the cabinet.
    It is virtually impossible to install two channels for the wider lamps. I just installed one. I've bought and installed so much IKEA kitchens and other stuff over the years, I am getting close to saturation point with this kind of stupid design.
