i’ve been a huge fan of your content recently! i would really appreciate it if you made a video going in depth on the band dinosaur jr and there influence on grunge bands like nirvana and others ❤️❤️
Although the wolf was known for that voice, he was no musical slouch either. you touched on his tough leadership role he displayed. On the London sessions album from I think 1970, he had the all star British white guy band, with Steve winwood on organ, Clapton on guitar, bill wyman on bass. They were trying to play little red rooster, and for whatever reason, Wolf wasn’t diggin it. I think he had such a natural sense of musical timing, but wasn’t musically knowledgeable with theory. He’s trying to explain to the guys how it should go. You then hear Clapton say, “can you show us?” So he picks up an acoustic guitar with a slide, and shows them the riff. I’m glad they kept that in the recording cuz it’s so real. I believe he’s actually playing a little behind the beat, a common thing for R&B musicians of the day. I suggest giving that London sessions 1970 album a listen, if not just for that. The blues…just 3 chords and the truth. Thanks for making this and sharing it.
Love to see you do a video on Mississippi John Hurt. I hear his influence sprinkled throughout acoustic music today.
Great video , Howlin Wolf is my favourite blues artist. keep em coming. A video on the Cramps would be awesome.
I'll add 'em to the list!
