I’ll second the take on the sizing. Nightmare to size. It was extremely difficult to get that center tunnel like pin holder piece (which i’ve never seen before on another watch) to go back in place when resetting the pins.
@@JonathanGaiger I could only do it by pushing it with screw down pin remover and when pins gets stuck pulling with a plier from other side. The sides of the links did get scratched though, so use the method at your own risk.
@@JonathanGaiger Hello, my apologies that you had difficulty sizing the bracelet. I typically use a bracelet sizing tool and it works quite fast without much effort. You can find many different types online and on amazon. (I've included a link below for reference). The tool essentially presses the pin out smoothly and safely. I hope this helps and always feel free to reach out via email: Support@brew-watches.com and I'll be happy to do my best to assist ! -Jonathan www.esslinger.com/watch-bracelet-pin-pliers-tool-for-extra-wide-watch-bands/
Great rundown. I'm a microbrand fan and tend to be a rah rah guy, but it nice to get honest information on a watch, both good and bad. Thanks so much for this. Me personally, none of these are big cons for me, other than immediate availability. Still, it's good to know this stuff. In my case, it gives me more confidence to consider this watch since you're obviously thorough and didn't mention issues that would bother me. Big thanks for this great video.
I have one coming soon, it looks nice but I really want to change the strap, just that I’m not too huge on metal bracelets. Have you found one that works?
@@slimwrist yeah no worries! I found a nice leather Barton one that fits perfectly, it’s like a dark greyish brown (I believe espresso is the name) and it’s almost made for it lol shame you sold it but they’re nice watches!
Not sure if I did a good job explaining it but it is not the width but the actual space within each lug. Basically if you have a thick strap it will have a hard time fitting, the space between the case and the pin is really limited. Width is perfectly fine at 20mm.
@@slimwrist @wrist cake Aaah got it! Definitely not getting the watch then, since I find the bracelet a bit too plain for my taste. Even the Santos' bracelet is not my thing even though it has a bit more going on. That's a shame because I really liked the wine dial variant. (It's okay though cause I'm about to splurge on the Commuter by Traska as my first microbrand purchase. :p)
I have to disagree. The orange one which is just a regular leather strap not padded in any way still had a hard time fitting into the lugs. The brown gekota strap yea that one is padded heavy.

I don't suppose anyone has done any instructions? I don't want to scratch it lol

Can I ask what size your wrist is? I’ve been eyeing this but now worried it won’t fit as well as it should. Thanks!
@@Pineconeboy55 right around 17cm.

No problem. It says on Brew website that the Retromatic is available this month just FYI.
Any thoughts on the Brew Retrograph?
I have no issues with sizing straps on mine. I got the salmon dial.
I almost pulled a trigger on salmon but previous experience geared me toward no.

Sorry Kenan. Had to flip it. The new owner freaken loves it though.

Good review thanks. That strap, sizing and fit could be a dealbreaker especially when dealing with a microbrand.
Great video I have been very curious about brew besides teddy always lauding it
Great video man! Thank you for the information!!
Sounds like a standard pin and collar bracelet, no?
Where can I buy this watch? I can't find it anywhere.
I would try reddit watchxchange if you can't find it on the official site.
Watch is nice looking but the "Only 1 Year Warranty" throws it in the "Suspicious" Bin!
What about using a 19mm leather strap? If that even exists lol.

@@nielsiochem8578 take a look at 06:50 portion of the video. There you see the space mentioned and a thick leather strap I wanted to put in within it.
no.1 , 2 and 4 - milanese mesh bracelet
That is a really fat strap. Most leather straps would fit as long as they aren't padded to the degree yours is.

These watches are always sold out, why can't they ever catch up with demand?
Microbrand, likely playing conservative due to limited $$$
