Good format! It would be better to include harsh lighting conditions and see how it looks! Maybe even just outside the house-look

Would’ve liked to see lume comparison
Hey there! Wanted to ask if you still have the Steinhart Adventure 39. Did you end up keeping it? Or did you sell it? Just curious; I'm interested in rebuying a Metropole 39. Thank you!
A decent watch for the price. Hruodland is famous for their insane texts. Like, recently they released a vintage Rolex explorer homage which looks cool, but instead of 'oyster perpetual' it says 'roasted oyster' on the dial 😂They also have a stainless steel version (and they released it even before VC did, lol), which might be a better choice. The bracelets on these aliexpress mid-tier brands are win or lose. Typically, yeah, additional filing is always needed. I have a VC 2215 homage bt Specht & Söhne, and, surprisingly, it is very decent (but again I had to file the bracelet).
I wish they would make this in the original vintage Vacheron Constantin dimensions. It was like, 30mm diameter iirc.
i think you'll love the tissot seastar 36mm quartz!
That watch looks interesting. I am trying to keep my new collection below $500 below 39mm. Fits the bill.
Super cool comparison! Chapeau!
Thanks for this video! We have the same wrist size and this video made me realize that the 38mm is too big for me.
I would say 38mm is not too big but for this watch due to the fact that the outside bezel is same color as the dial, it makes the dial look huge. For let's say divers with contrasting bezel and dial color, I think 38mm is actually perfect.
Butthole logo 😂😂😂😂. Now I’ll never be able to unsee it!
Not s gada watch with plastic crystal. Tired of the lame "period correct material " argument. Ita junk. Put sapphire in and make it an ACTUAL gada
Hey mate nice video but the audio sounds muffled.
I am on my third mic to get better audio. Honestly I think it is just my mush mouth at this point.
Nice watch and review! I'm posting the Farasute Doctor's watch Review sometime later on today! Very surprised with the quality! Regards
Lorier didn't do this as a cost cutting measure, but they did it intentionally for the clarity, warmth, and vintage aesthetic. Just wanted to emphasize that, but totally understand the comfort of not worrying so much about a sapphire crystal.
I've been looking at this watch for a while, you now have convinced me to get it, thank you. Well done
It is on pre-order now. When it was in stock it sold out in 5 mins. If you have any questions email them and the questions are answered by the owners. Really nice couple it seems.
Wow 36mm watch with 20mm lugs are hard to find. This is lovely.
Yes, I forgot to include it on the video but the watch is also a strap monster. On black gator it is true vintage.
What a beauty!
Yes it is in preorder now, not sure when the shipping date is though.
Beautiful watch, truly versatile.
City GADA for me.
A very nice design. But I wish the hands were not so flat, but beveled. That way, you would get more light play, like you get on the indices.
In person everything works together well. My only issue is that lollipop second hand which stick out in terms of design.
Looks very nice
It is!
08:18 Chill bro, my hinge matches are on this app.
Dang this is nice
Super nice. Just never in stock like other commentors said. One the restock I ordered exactly at the time when Lorier said it would came back in stock and it sold out in 10 mins.
It's a really nice looking watch, but I wouldn't buy a new watch with an acrylic crystal.
You wouldn't buy a Speedmaster? A Rolex Datejust 1601, etc? If anything, hesalite is a feature for the warm look of older watches.
@ronaldnixon8226 there was a time when you had no choice. Acrylic is cheap and nasty.
Visually, it is great and not like the old acrylic crystals where you are able to tell right off the bat. Personal choice but I think you should check out more recent version of acrylic crystals on watches if you have not done so. When done right the clarity that it provides over even the best AR coated sapphire is not exaggerated.
@@slimwrist I am tempted. I own old watches with acrylic crystal and I haven't put any scratches on the crystals, probably because I do respect my watches , and take care , I just feel we have moved on , and would feel more confident with sapphire crystal. I enjoyed your review.
@@dalegamble1173 100% agree, I have to agree that I am babying this watch a lot more due to the acrylic. We will see how I feel in 6 months if I get scratches where I can't buffer out, but for for now I am really enjoying the clarity. Thanks for the positive feedback.
Hey man the algorithm showed me this. Pretty good vid! First time I've seen a Lorier review. Hope you keep making content. Also have a Happy New Year.
Thanks brotha, you too as well.
This watch is 🔥🔥🔥 but never in stock
Sign up for Lorier newsletter. They don't really spam you with lot of emails and you get future restock notification dates/times.
This would be perfect in a 33 or 34mm
I wish
I think 36mm is perfect for 6.5 inch wrist. Once it starts going below that the market just isn't there for Lorier to probably produce it.
@ Yeah. I’m at exactly 6” which is annoying but probably saves me money in the longrun
@@conzmoleman the website has a model with a 6 inch wrist. It fits pretty well i have to say
@ Ehhhh. I’m picky what can I say.
Are the numbers on the bezel painted white or are they silver
white in my eyes
@ you should compare this and the San Martin SN0111! I’m having a hard time choosing between the 2.
do these two has ghost date? or it's a fixed no date pt5000?
Yup ghost date exists for both.
how is it keeping time months later?
No issues for the Octopus. Cronos was flipped so not sure but they both use PT5000 so I would assume it is okay as well.
@slimwrist people have reported issues with PT5000, namely running fast after 3 months, & Ben of the Ben's Watch Club channel thought that the Kraken's crown movement was gritty in comparison with the Cronos and chose the latter on that basis. The big challenge with these videos is that they cover the superficial mostly and not how they keep time over time. Lower priced watches in the Stated are mostly quartz because people dont know where to repair or service automatics.
For the price this watch is a Great deal. The supplied band is rubbish but a strap swap solves the issue. I have the black one and the fact it's a Seiko quartz is a plus. 2 year battery that can be changed in about two minutes, is better than yet another NH or Miyota movement that will need to be serviced if you plan to keep it long term. The watch with a silicone strap melts on your wrist for great comfort. The finishing is very good and there is enough AR on the crystal to keep it legible in outdoors / indoors with out any glare. For a a hundred bucks this is a no brainier. Bonus If you have a an Erebus ascent either bracelet will also fit. and is Light years better than stock.
Agree but I don't think people service NH35, I say if it breaks it is going in the trash.
Bulova super seville its a great looking watch! but will looks huge on any wrist with those 25mm lugs on the bracelet. and square watches wears always bigger too, so 34 or 36mm. case would be much better imo. that's what stops me to order one
It fits like a 40mm with the square 37.5mm dimensions. I would have preferred it bit smaller but I am taking it on the chin because I love the look. 40mm is bit of a stretch for my 6.5 inch wrist.
The quality of your video is improving. I would however try to keep the old style of freeflow and some humor in your narration. Watch reviews are so cookie cutter nowadays and any difference is a welcome sight. Just an opinion. Good review.
I'm a huge fan of this brand. This watch unfortunately is discontinued, but there appears to be stock with some resellers. Unfortunately the one I purchased from gave me fake tracking and never delivered, so I had to go back to Ali for a refund, wasting $35 of coupons that were now expired.
I am about to put this on the market to fund for a new watch. Let me know if you are interested.
And again, alot of untrained eyed in the comment section. The OCTOPUS is OBVIOUSLY better in specs... dont discuss
The reason the case back is deep is that they use this case for quartz and automatic movements. The quartz are thinner and wear very well. These are old stock, hence the old logo on the dial, I think they are around 2 years old from the RUclips reviews. I bought a small seconds ronda 6004 version on the strap for £63 +tax in the last sale, fantastic watch, but I swapped the battery straight away. The edge between the lugs is very sharp just like on a Rolex Oyster case, I smoothed it down with a sharp blade. Nice review.
Have some sound issues with the video. Goes from very loud to faint to no sound. I used the caption.
It have nice dial and hands, not plain like dial A and not to complicated like dial B. But... That myota is low end movement with rotor noise, that clasp with 2 microadjustment and with female lugs is big no. I really hate when crown is not in middle, it's allowed but my ocd fires immediately . Lume is soso. I think there is missed opportunity if they didn't applied lume at all on 05,25,35,55 it be would be better visually and more interesting. Cracken is much better.
I preferred that they went with regular NH35 but since miyota 1825 is bit smaller in size, I am guessing they utilize this movement to keep the dimensions of this watch at 37mm.
Sorry but why is the bracelet an extra $30 more?
Usually the bracelet version is more expensive but at this price point I agree that $30 seems a bit excessive for the quality of bracelet that you get. I had another San Martin around and swapped out the bracelet on this watch and it worked so that might be one way.
Well done in articulating your thoughts on this watch and some of your philosophies in getting a watch. Appreciate that!
A watch like this needs a butterfly clasp. Wrong clasp for a datejust homage.
i believe the rolex datejust comes in oyster clasp for jubilee and oyster bracelet
Id love to see more of these as a feklow slim wristed guy
Yeah! Slim wristed crew unite!
I would love it if Baltany did a more reserved version with an oyster bracelet.
all steel, black dial, and oyster bracelet
both jomashop and ashford don't have the 36mm version.
Looks like it is out of stock. Not sure if YT will let me post a link but here is the deal I bought. www.ashford.com/glycine-gl0397.html
They seem to be sold out everywhere
Great video but something is wrong with the audio
I know man, got a new microphone coming via Black Friday deal.
Dope to see more fellow small wristlers out here! Subbed
Awesome, returned the favor, I literally was watching your review on Timex 1983 re-issue over the weekend.
I don't understand why some brands insist on putting butterfly clasps on bracelets. They're more parts, more expensive, impossible to adjust properly, and nobody wants them. Why do they still exist?
I have a feeling this watch in 36 was catered toward women hence the change in clasp toward butterfly. Lot of women watches seem to have butterfly clasp because of the look.
@@slimwrist I don't see how any woman benefits from a butterfly clasp.
@@Makingnewnamesisdumb No one does. I just think women like the seamless look hence why it is used so frequently on women's watches. Functionally it is horrendous for everyone.🤣🤣
I have a slim wrist. I think butterfly clasp are intended to be use with a slimmer wrist as the hard part of the normal clasp tends to be off centre to the side of the slim wrist and it will looks weird to the watch overall. Im loving all my butterfly clasp watches over the normal ones.
@@6inchwrist They needed to put in half links, I have a butterfly on my super seville and with the half links I am able to get perfect sizing. This one is either just a bit tight or way too loose.
Thanks for the review. Lume shot at 1:34 is pretty disappointing for Swiss C3.
Yeah the BGW9 on the 100 dollar WD Pelogos homage pretty much smashes the C3 on the Bulova. Thankfully I am not a big lume guy.
Yo 3:35 "as though you just joined a black fraternity" line is wild.🤣🤣
All love
I watched a fair few of these videos comparing the Cronos to the Octopus. And I went with the Cronos for the following reasons... It looks slightly more compact... and a bit more like my preferred Rolex Explorer. It was available with a NH35 movement. Which is a movement I'm familiar with. I don't really like the name 'Octopus' lol. Which might sound strange. I just think it sounds more suitable for a company making 'fun and wacky' watches, than one making serious homage watches. With the Cronos... no issues with it apart from the corners on the clasp. On the second day, I took a small jewellery file to it and rounded off the corners slightly. Which solved that issue. And I also disliked the highly polished surfaces on the side of the case and side of the clasp. So a careful rubbing with some fine glass paper sorted that out.
You can't go wrong with either. Cronos if you prefer the more modern version I would say.
The octopus looks amazing. You can really tell through the video how good it is but that logo and name are just terrible. If Chinese brands could get the names and logo’s right they would be unstoppable. Also THANK YOU for measuring from the male end links like you should. 90% of reviewers don’t do that and it drives me crazy!
How about "Squid" watch? And the logo instead of being a butthole is a tentacle that looks like a penis?
