Just purchased one yesterday at my local Seiko Boutique. I was actually going there to look primarily at a GS Soko Shadow. I love the SBGA413 Spring and when I saw they had one it went home with me. The level of craftsmanship is exquisite and that spring drive is mesmerizing. Looking at other watches, they appear to measure time, while when looking at the spring drive movement it is more like watching time flow. I've found the pinkish is very subtle in most lighting. Most of the time its more silver or white. Love it.

Great review! I bought this watch a few weeks ago. It is a stunning watch.
Your observations were correct as to dial color. It also picks up surrounding colors quite well. The dial textures are amazing. I can see in my mind the cherry blossoms fade .....fallen into the water.....swirling in the stream. Then again, I grow flw cherries , and have a Mt. Fuji in my yard. Next spring I will take pics when the flowers fade from white to pink.
This is my first GS. Very happy with it so far. And the spring drive. Wow!

I was close to selling it. Now it is on a navy blue soft suede leather strap and it has became my favorite again. The contrast of the strap vs dial really brings out the dial.

Great review! I appreciated what you said about seeing it in person vs through a lens. I was excited to see one in person at an AD, but found I was a little underwhelmed. Very pretty, but I liked the Snowflake more. But now as I look back at my photos from that day, I’m second guessing myself! Either way, beautiful watch!
I hear you. It is beautiful watch, but it is that very first viewing. Your expectation is way high so there is a let down. I am glad I have it now though.

I was similar with snowflake- obviously it’s a great watch but the first time in person I was slightly underwhelmed (due to the online hype - justified hype but still)
I ended up getting an sbgw235 as a blind buy (sent to U.K. from Japan), it’s such a plain watch but crazy to spend that much without ever having seen it or tried on- luckily for me I love it.
I still keep looking at these cherry blossoms though, hope to see one in real life when meet ups start up again as not sure I would blind buy that much money 😂
@@manuel_winde Agree with you on the snowflake, you got to go micro to appreciate it. I think Shunbun you can appreciate the dial a lot more on glance but these microshots from influencers have ruined the first impression for many watches for me.

Good choice, I just bought the SBGA413 and it is true that it is subtle pink but mostly silver in most light but that is what's so special about it. I hope it retains value for the long run. I haven't wore it yet and debating if I should keep it in mint condition for retaining value.
I see your point, I would say the value would depend on how many more of this model GS is going to push out. Couple of dealers said they might get restock in late September while others are requiring a special order. So you can still get it now except that you have to wait about a month to get it from Japan. I would say unless GS announces they are moving on from this model the price will hover where it is now which is around or slightly above MSRP.

It makes me sad that I cannot buy this watch in my country. Not even in Japan.
Just order it from a US based dealer and have it shipped to Japan.
I put an order in two separate Seiko boutiques in February. I got a call from both boutiques that the watch came in. The first call in mid April. The second call in late May. This is in Tokyo. I think you need to put an order in if you want to get one. Since the watch is hand built and hand polished, there's a limit on how much they can produce at any given time. Hope you get one soon.
Nice REview, what about the scratches ? is it easily to scratch ? or what happend with that ... it is a grade something titanium but in the practice what happend? this titanium is more harder than steel ? or the same or steel wins in that ?
pretty much scratch free. yeah titanium is suppose to be more durable than steel while also being lighter. also the fact that it is more brushed stainless steel with polished accents help hiding any minor scratches.
They really needed to put a protective coating like Diashield or something. I have so many scratches on my watch from desk diving.
I have mine on a strap now exclusively. I am thinking of doing a video on it where I was very close to flipping the watch but the strap for me made all the difference.
May I ask what strap you put on it?
Really nice, non influencer review. GS released a china limited edition with the same pattern dial but in baby blue that I got. I am now heavily debating if I want to add this sbga 413 or just pass on it. Is this a "must have" watch in your view? I actually wish it were more pink and looked more like it did in the pictures at the perfect angle at all times instead of only when you're lucky...
It is a must watch for me, but I wanted more silver dial and uniform colored second hand with the rest (I actually do not like blue second hand that you see on the snowflake, that just my preference though). If you are looking for pink dial I would probably pass.
That blue SBGA435 is wonderful, and I understand why you might not want to add this one if you have the 435. I got myself the sbga433 which was also a Chinese LE, and it’s much darker than the 433, so this sbga413 is a nice compliment. Also, don’t forget that the titanium is a really cool material. The case weight and finish on the SBGA413 is very different from the stainless steel on the SBGA433 AND 435.

Thanks for the review! Do you mind sharing your wrist size as reference? I’ve got a slim wrist (6.13”)and am worried it might be a bit big
6.5 inch here. Thickness is where your concern should be. Looks more like a 38 due to smaller dial.

Great review, I can relate to the hyping of GS vs reality (whilst they are great quality). How do you find it compares to the Aqua Terra in your video?
Aqua Terra I connected really fast. Great daily driver but in hindsight I should have gotten the 38 instead of the 42. Sold AT to fund for a 36 mm used datejust. I would say if you are between the two and want to connect fast then go with AT. SBG413 I am still trying to connect with it. It is too pretty for its own good if that makes any sense.
@@slimwrist1143 Thanks, I actually own the 38.5mm aqua Terra and was looking for something to join it. GS has lovely dial finishing...a bit too pretty for a sports watch as you said. I haven't connected with them in the past but like the case on this one

How has it held up against scratches?
It has been great, only scratch has been on the clasp from desk diving. I been pretty careful with it but banged the dial couple of times but so far so good.
Do you ever have trouble reading the dial?
no not really but i can see other having trouble for sure
Going for £4k on chrono so definitely decreased in 2023😊
