@@Birdbike719 pigs have more of a chance of finding them than dogs....weird huh? They have to put chains on the pigs and yank the hell off it so they don't eat the mushrooms.
I love Tuscany. I remember how incredible the flowers were and the amazing sweet smell in the air. The food, wine, and people were lovely. I totally understand why Italians are relaxed and create some of the best food in the world.
The view from your hotel room was spectacular! I feel like I'd be happy with just that view, the sandwiches from that shop you went to and a pot of coffee. Feels like utter bliss.
I've visited Italy several times, this makes me want to go back...In the Umbrian region that thick soup is usually served in a big bowl, they call it something like "pilgrims soup"...it's cheap to make but very delicious. And yep, many places that serve steak will cook it their way and it's usually very rare.
this is the kind of videos i want, when i look out for a traveler video. wow this this was amazing! long time fan, but this was amazing! best video in at least 2 years
Mikey, what an adventure! It brings back so many memories of when my husband & I were stationed in Italy (La Maddalena near Sardinia). I think you have to grow some truffle oak trees on your property. Cheers! ❤️
It is on my bucket list to bring my family (kids 9,12 and husband) to Tuscany. I went in college and I long to go back. It is some of the most stunningly beautiful vistas I have ever experienced in my life.
I love Florentine steak and the restaurant looked amazing! My favorite part of this upload was the mega stuffed prosciutto sandwich while just soaking in the atmosphere out on the hotel room patio.... What a dreamy place to be at. 💕
You should look into VR tours! You might be able to "walk" around in more foreign countries/cities than you think. But how much does Mikey make it feel like he's taking you along with him 🥰 so good!
I did the same truffle tour when I was Italy in 2018..the tour was not cheap but it worth every penny. The couple that run the tours are very nice people.
My family took me to Florence for a graduation gift this summer at my request. If it weren’t for your first florentine steak video, my family and I would miss out on some of the best steak of our lives!
OMG Mike, when you said they don't use truffle pigs I actually thought you said they use ducks. Ducks. I can totally get onboard having a Truffle Duck!!
Mr Chen in Italy you twist the pasta moderately around fork to fit your mouth and place in your mouth without slurping. It is not noodles. Beautiful place, views and adventures
Weirdly enough, in Tuscany, that's not true. Eat it like asian noodles, but do try not to slurp. I grew up with that culture. Twisting would have gotten you scolded. Maybe they twist now, I dunno. Been a while since I was there.
I’ve been having a really hard time getting myself to eat lately and the description of that pre-dinner sammich did it for me. I’m SO HUNGIE NOW lol and I’ve been a vegetarian for 17 years or so and I’m still like 🤤
I think of all the places you've visited, this would be the one I'd most want to go to myself. I think it might be hard to leave at the end of the trip.
That black garlic pasta resembled squid ink pasta. I've never tried either, but willing to give them both a shot. That steak could feed me for 2 days though. I don't know if its polite to ask for a take home container, but if not, I would wrap it in a napkin and put under my shirt if I had to! Love your videos!
You're not alone. I don't particularly mind it, but whenever I eat a Fiorentine steak, I always enjoy the slices that are slightly more cooked. It just tastes nicer and is far easier to chew.
Actually we don’t fully know why truffles grow the way they do. They favor conditions but we don’t know all of it like why they choose one spot over another when the conditions are exactly the same or why certain types of truffles like that spot. All we can do is find them and that’s all.
Farmers grow truffles by inoculating the roots of saplings with truffle spores, then harvesting the truffles in 6 to 7 years. This technique was first recorded in 1969. However, growing truffles requires a complex combination of appropriate weather conditions, soil chemistry, and a bit of luck to grow successfully.
As soon as I saw that clock tower i was like waiiiiit a dang minute that looks so familiar and then you said its where they filmed twilight & I flipped !lol 😂
Mikey Chen, get your delivery sorted out, can’t even buy your Oil, & get it sent to Canada. C’mon man, why have over 30 countries, to choose from, yet you can’t deliver too many, very poor service, this should of been sorted by now
T-bone bone. As a kid mom and dad would grill burgers for us and have steaks for themselves. I loved it because they let me eat the meat off the bone. Sister hated it. I was a savage 😃.
The location of a good truffle patch is guarded and the secret is held for generations. A good truffle hound is venerated. My Dad would love that steak. Mine would have to be a lot less pink.
Every time I tell people leaner meat has more concentrated beefy flavor they freak out. I get more flavor from something like a filet or a strip than a ribeye. Ribeye is too rich and I dont mean in flavor, it's just fat and fat it self doesn't have flavor like the actual meat does. The perfect steak is a nice marbled strip or filet.
I love, love your videos but why does your editor ruin them by adding loud music ? Just let the regular sound carry over as there is nothing wrong with just having quiet bird noises or people walking. I ended up muting over half this video.
Eh don't say never. Mike used to not like sushi and now he eats all types. Try some stuff out. If done correctly some raw food cam be really delicious.
You missed out on a huge opportunity! When you order the Dark Water, John C. Riley decants it for you and tries to sell you on the charm of brutalist architecture.
Glad hot pots are going popular in 🇺🇸🇨🇦 Best comfort thing when you want to enjoy your food and take the time to eat Suggestion for future videos : go to Toronto and Montreal 🇨🇦 Cheers from San Diego California
If you wanna blow money on something terrible, just visit your local McDonald’s. An Asian market has better hot pot soup bases and it’s way cheaper. Don’t give into his BS.
Fun fact. Some places hide truffles ahead of time so the guests don't feel let down. There is a reason they are so rare.
Still great practice for the pup!
@@Birdbike719 pigs have more of a chance of finding them than dogs....weird huh? They have to put chains on the pigs and yank the hell off it so they don't eat the mushrooms.
That’s the only thing I could think of the whole time I was watching that but it still seemed like it would be fun x)
Like in the Conan remote in Italy ahah
@@TheNuprin711 i wonder how yummy the pig eating all the truffles would be? 😁
I love how the woman was like “guys please if you need something don’t be shy” how sweet 🥺❤️
Yo Mike! Where's that wedding video you said you'll post? What are you hiding hahah
Best steak I've ever had in my life was in Florence Italy at a restaurant called Paoli's..that was in 1972 and I still remember it to this day!

That dog is a Lagotto Romagnolo, a dog bred for truffle hunting. They are great pets too lol
No it's not. Lagotto has a rounder head and curly fur like a poodle.

Hostess “ guys don’t be shy eat more “. You don’t have to tell Mikey twice 😂
Mike just fyi you’re supposed to twirl the pasta around the fork, slurping is considered rude unlike when eating ramen for example
Mikey, what an adventure! It brings back so many memories of when my husband & I were stationed in Italy (La Maddalena near Sardinia).

What a beautiful scenery and great food as always, thanks for taking us around the world~ :D
Mike Chen, only guy to routinely eat 3 star meals in a t-shirt. Love it
I'm from tuscany! Can't believe I get to enjoy this video

Dry soups, and the egg yolk pasta looks dry too, that's why they offer you the fancy water menú.
slurps pasta like ramen lol
Mr. Chen, thank you for taking me to Italy. I am unable to walk. Thanks 👍🏽

I came here to say this! The slurping was too much, it’s not ramen! 🤦♀️
Seriously… it’s not ramen Lol
Or he can just eat the damn noodles lol.
It's pretty funny how the dog was planting his own "Truffles" lol. Thanks for the video Mikey!
"Soup??" "Stew??" It's not bloody any of them!
"Squishy Baby food" perfect 😆😁
The sandwich looks amazing. One of these days I have got to get to Italy.
Food looks amazing! Great video as always! Safe travels you two!! xoxo
I'm watching this, and all I can think is, wow, Wow, WOW! This is such a nice departure. The narrative is also fantastic!
That is a porterhouse steak. It has a larger filet which differentiate s it from a t-bone. Perfectly cooked!
Hot Pot for breakfast? Man, I want that..
All of that truffle yum! The steak looked cooked to absolute perfection too 🤤😍
Take a shot every time Mike Chen taps/touches his camera
Seared over high heat to Blue and a twist of lemon juice and olive oil salt, pepper... delish
Anybody else get anxiety with him holding us over the balcony while he ate that sandwich LOL
What an awesome job/life for that pup! He must have so much fun hunting truffles! What a good boy

He def slurped the pasta
As always great food tour, did you got to keep the Truffles?
Hey Mike! You forgot to include all the places you went in the info box down below.

phew! for a second i thought he was going to slurp the pasta which is respectful in some asian countries but super disrespectful in Italy :b
He did slurp...what video did you watch?
Was trying to be nice… at least it wasn’t a full on ramen slurp…
@@ForbiddenFruitGaming I hear ya...that's true it was def a more reserved mike slurp lol

I am so glad to see you visiting outside Asian cuisine, way to go Mike! 🙌🏻!!!
All right, I like the way you think! Hot Pot for breakfast!
Hi Mikey! Happy Friday
The Steaks looks so good
Since you are in Italy, you should be twirling the pasta, not eating it like it’s ramen.
Have you ever thought about getting a perm? I think you can rock it.
Everything looked DELICIOUS!

it's a florentine steak for a reason
It's rare not raw.

hi mike, good morning!
Awesome job Mikey.
Always glad to see you upload a video 🙂🙂

Excellent Views of the Places and the Food Outlets !!
Italy has so much to Offer in Tuscan Region !!
"Dark water" - not sure about that beverage, but the Pirates of Dark Water was an awesome cartoon in the 90's 😀

Save the trip...Canada under Trudeau is worse than mainland china, repressive regime wise.
That seafood broth looked delicious.
Take a shot every time Mikey says the word truffle lol
Mikey you got to have olive oil and lemon squeezed on top with a Florentine steak.
Lemon on florentine?! Nooooooooo😅
Now we just need Mike to work with a seller that ships worldwide for his hotpot kits.
Why? It's overpriced junk
If you wanna blow money on something terrible, just visit your local McDonald’s. An Asian market has better hot pot soup bases and it’s way cheaper.
Don’t give into his BS.
Mike,
Chianina is pronounced 'kee-a-nee-na', NOT 'chee-a-nina'. I'm surprised Christine didn't tell you.
exactly... like the wine Chianti
@@pmg-1 Exactly!
That's arguably the best wine to have with a Florentino steak 😋
