Dude, thank you for this video. I am a research nut before I start a project. This has been one of the most helpful as far as planning the next stages of my build. Cheers from Chicago
Happy holidays I watched the revival videos and I thought that if you used the auxiliary terminal it opened it up for another button for lights and stuff
I am going to be doing the same setup on my xs bobber. Way to clean for an ocd guy like myself to a pass up. On a side note I was wondering what master you were running. I have been looking for a replacement other than stock and the Hugh's Handbuilt Slim is damn near nonexistent anymore. Thanks and super clean build.
stubbs2k5 I got that master cylinder from Mikesxs.net part number 08-0262. And I made the custom cap for it in my shop. Had to look it up couldn't remember.
furnimaker Thanks, definitely not the easiest part of the build. I had one oversight for the backlighting on speedo contacted motogadget they got right back to me quick. Told me to wire it to the auxiliary port.
Glad they were responsive, I have some motogadget components that I am using on my project too(m-unit, m-lock, etc). I am looking forward to (and dreading) the wiring part, but I think it will turn out fine, and I'll learn a lot. My bike is fuel injected so it isn't going to be very straight forward, but I'll get it done...eventually. Cheers!
furnimaker Well one thing made it lil easier I made 2 ground points and ran a 16 gauge wire from headlight to ground point under the seat where frame ground so didn't have to run grounds for each thing back to frame ground made it lil easier. Revival cycles has a nice wiring kit with all the wires and charted out to make it easier. Are you doing a xs650?
The switches are wired through the handle bars so you can't see them. That's how the switches are designed to be wired. So if that's out of your comfort zone I wouldn't buy these switches. It takes some time doing it so wires don't get pinched. But only way to go if you want nice clean bars.
@@todaystopic3527 no just wondering cause there was no mention of it on a website, I’m a tech at a bmw dealer and this guy was looking at these switches.
Hi. Never saw this before. Can you tell me which components I would be excluding from my bike by installing the motogadget? (I have a Yamaha XV 535). Thank you.
Hey I am wiring a M unit to my XS. I am having trouble having the bike turn over now. Do you have a wire diagram on how you have the ignition coils, ignition unit etc wired up? Thanks!
Hey Cody. I don't have a diagram but maybe with lil more info we can help you out here and other thing is motogadget was great when I had questions on how to wire my auxiliary lights. So back to your problem. It turns over slowly or not at all?
I'm still running the stock Ignition unit, coils and solenoid. I press my Aftermarket starter switch and I hear it trying to turn over. I've pulled the plugs and confirmed that I am getting spark. I have starter switch to m button to m unit. Start output goes to solenoid. Aux output goes to ignition coils red and white wire as well ignition unit.
I would check voltages at the starter by disconnecting starter see voltage levels make sure those are good then I would drop starter out and turn starter over and check voltages that way sounds that if starter is engaging it's wired up right I would suspect bad starter itself. Let me know what you find.
I just sand blasted the stock levers and gave them a fresh coat of black spray paint. I assume your asking about front brake and clutch levers. Oh wait no the front brake master cylinder is from Mike's XS with a custom cover I milled up.
holy crap dude! your setup is SO CLEAN. Did you run the extra ground from the frame ground or from the negative terminal? I've got my M unit ready to start wiring it all up...
Ya I ran from battery to the frame ground next to m unit then ran another ground wire from there to a ground lug in the head light and tied everything up there to that made it way easier.
The M unit can incorporate any type of ignition. Far as I know. But it won't replace the ignition system all together. My xs650 did have TCI. I replaced it with a pamco ignition and charging system.
@@indabebe I couldn't really tell you what colors. Could be any color. Just got to figure out which is the hot leg and which is ground. I'm guessing your not using stock harness with the m-unit. Whether it's tci or pamco wiring is the same in and out to the rectifier.
@@todaystopic3527 thanks for the reply. I was gonna cut the wire from the TCI and plug it it direct to the M-Unit. The lights seem simple to connect, the ignition wires seems a bit more complex
Hey, i am building xs650 tracker, already got PMA, Pamco. considering using m- unit with motogadget switches and speedo. Are you happy with it? Worth the money? Would you do it again?
Denis yes I would absolutely do it again switches are really nice quality and the m-unit makes wiring so much easier and saves a ton of space. There is a new style m unit now but if it has same quality as old style go for it.

Alberta Boy Happy New year! The auxiliary is constant voltage supply for the ignition curciut. Not intended for use as aux power far as I know.

Looks like this will be a pretty clean installation, nice work

Hi, very cool setup. I will clean up my virago 1100 more or less like you. What kind of battery did you use?
It's battery tender lithium battery not sure what model I can look for you later.
Mmmm what ever hey
But is that unit cool or what def is the route we are going
where are the wires for the switches why cant i find any pictures of how the wires get to the switches

Pretty much everything in your old electrical. Fuse box is out and all the old wiring
And the m unit blue comes with bluetooth with means you can start your bike with your cell phone
Have you got everything working? Can you do a video detailing how you hooked up the PMA, power regulator, and starter solenoid?
650 fan Ya sure. That was lil tricky from pma to regulator. I have some time Monday I can do a quick video then.
Today's Topic did you do a video on this?

Bad place for the regulator/rectifier, it needs air to cool off. Under your seat it will over heat
