    So where does your ignition wires like from your plugs / ignition coils go to ?

  • @indabebe
    @indabebe 2 года назад

    how did you connect the brown wire from the rectifier? did you connect it straight to the stator or hooked up to an key switch somewhere?

    I understood that the M Unit could work as a starter relay up to 30amps. Made to be able to start old HD and BMW

      Maybe the m-unit blue the newer version can do that. I have the older original m-unit wired to my stock solenoid. Solenoid draws its main current directly off battery not from the m-unit itself.

    Awesome video!
    Can you tell me where did you get the wiring loom and what size it is?

    • @todaystopic3527
      @todaystopic3527  6 лет назад

      Arnoldo Avilez That loom is a NAPA auto parts special buy. It comes of the roll and pay by the foot. Think it was less than $5 and I bought 1/2 inch and some 3/4 inch. Easy to work with 👍

    Thank you for this video! Is the new PMA required to do this? Do you think this same setup would work with an antigravity battery?

    • @todaystopic3527
      @todaystopic3527  4 года назад

      No you can run the stock charging system. I recommend the PMA kit but it is an investment.

      Last question for you- For other systems on the bike... if you can remember what spedo adapter did you use? Did you also just eliminate the stock on/off switch and neutral light?

    • @todaystopic3527
      @todaystopic3527  4 года назад

      @@nickmurdock507 I ran the stock speedo. I bought my ignition key set up from Dimecity I think it was $20. The neutral indicator is on the the tach which I opted to not use so I don't have a neutral indicator. Easy to wire though if you want the lil screw on top of back side of case is the lead for neutral indicator. One thing I wish I had added was a kill switch on handle bar. My clutch drags a lil so getting into neutral while running is almost impossible so I have to grab clutch with my right hand and shut bike off with my left hand because I put key under my left cheek. Kinda a pia but life goes on.

    Did you need the original witing harness while using the m unit? Or did the m unit replace the whole harness?

    • @todaystopic3527
      @todaystopic3527  6 лет назад

      If your going the m unit route you will be scrapping the stock harness. I got my wiring kit from Revival cycles. It had almost everything needed in the kit. I mean this is a custom installation so I needed a few odds and ends. But their kit has diagrams of a few senerio and wires are color coded for the application they are needed for. So that helped out a lot and to buy all the different gauges of wires in colors needed would have cost way more $$$. So the kits makes a nice clean looking sensible job in the end.

      Santiago BRC are you running a Moto gadget m unit?

  • @kerwinjones3106
    @kerwinjones3106 6 лет назад

    Is this all you needs to get the bike to running? I have an m unit, looking to get a pma and pamco.

    • @todaystopic3527

      Kerwin Jones yep pma pamco starter solenoid the fuse box and m unit control switches. Rival Cycles has a great wire kit for m unit and I got the loom material from NAPA auto parts. It's fairly easy but I enjoy wiring stuff.
