I'm a potter, good first try on the cups! Its difficult to get to the point where you're able to control the clay. And great idea to purchase some nice, new cups. Objects like these can enrich your everyday rituals. Japan has such a rich ceramics history and thereby an endless number of skilled potters, so might as well imbibe!
I'm watching this outside in the early evening in the south part of the u.s.... it took me a second to realize the cicadas were on the video and not in my backyard! We hear cicadas nonstop in the summer. :)
I swear, Sharla, you always manage to find the best places! Beautiful gardens, picturesque villas, delicious foods, wonky pottery...you just have a natural ability to find all the unknown but wonderful things Japan has to offer! With Emma and crew around, it's just been getting even better!
You two looked very pretty I love the dresses and the hat. I really enjoyed the videos you always make me want to go visit these places which I wish I could. I ever get a chance to go to Japan will have to re-watch all your videos. I can't wait to see the teacups.
I am sharing your channel with all my customers at my shop . I cut hair and I am meeting so many travelers going to Japan and I WHIP out my phone to show them all your videos on here and on your older channel THEY LOVE YOU I wish I knew more people I am screaming it to as many people as I can! LOVE YOU!
Got back to my first trip to Japan 2 days ago. It changed the way I look at everything. Already planning a trip back for longer next year and am inspired to venture further north thanks to your channel. Hope you’re doing well ❤️
The laughter came spilling out if me at the tea cup scene. I wasn't expecting it and of course you wasn't either. That festival looked very exciting and fun. I loved the garden and Villa. It was super beautiful and peaceful looking! Thanks for sharing. ♥️👍
Literally even just looking at the garden through the video was relaxing enough. I can't imagine how much more relaxing it would be to be there in real life.
You are so lovely!. I enjoy watching your videos. I hope to visit Japan next year before the olympics start and enjoy the food and take in the Japanese culture. Thank you for giving me an insight into this great country
You’re such a fun person!! I enjoy watching your channel and am excited to go to japan next year. It’s all because of you that I made this decision. Thanks for being you❕❕❕
Went there 3 years ago when I visited Tokyo. Went to Oarai Machi to visit the acquarium. The beach next to it was so serene and clean. Seafood market Osaka Naten goku was so fresh and dare I say, better tasting than Tsukiji market at the time.
You’re videos are so amazing. You’re so informative and you always show the most amazing places! The attitude you present shows how passionate you are about Japan! You’re living the life I want to life, and hope to live soon. That little bit about the 11 characters incorporated into the number of stairs was so cool. And the kanji walls are really amazing. Keep doing all the wonderful things you do, and I look forward to seeing more!
What a beautiful video, you did an amazing job filming the garden and villa. I love that you are showcasing smaller towns and the unique beauty of Japan! I hope you are doing well!
So many things to see in this vid! Ibaraki seems great! So calm and serene, (those flight of stairs though in the villa, I can just imagine myself tumbling all the way down).
Good job on your video editing!!! I can tell the difference in your video production quality. Thanks for the video, I love seeing the Japanese culture!
Yay...Sharla and Emma...fan of both of you...ty for this video. You are not just showing pretty scenery , you also inform us and educate us ,ty for that too.
hey Shar! hello from chile! I love your videos, when I was in japan last march I tried to visit as many places I saw in your videos... it was a great help! thank you so much ;)
Great video Sharla! The Kairakuen Garden and the villa are stunning!! My interest in Japan was first inspired by James Clavell's novel Shogun. I'm fascinated by the Edo period and by the role of fellow Scot, Thomas Blake Glover in the Meiji restotation. So this was another glimpse into the period. Loved the pottery as well. I loved your choice of teacups. ( I actually said ""They're beautiful!" before the caption came up saying you had bought them!) Especially like the blue one!
Your thumbnail for this video, its beautiful and you look beautiful too!!! I just started watching your videos a few days ago after binge-watching abroad in Japan. You have done so much you're so smart and pretty. I appreciate your videos and the realness you give, even though you say sometimes when you're not happy you still act happy and and that annoys people. Well, that's just stupid that it annoys people. I find your kindness and happiness refreshing. your so smart it almost makes me jealous 😅. Anyway I appreciate your realness and content keep up the good work. I'll keep watching I've subscribed and hit the Bell. 👍
Yay Mito! I use to live in Tochigi and we would drive to Mito every so often. I've had the pleasure of going to Kairakuen Garden twice for plum blossom season twice but four years apart. Very pretty; very impressive; very busy lol. We use to go to the aquarium; Hitachi Seaside park; the ocean, and of course Costco. 🤣
Loved the video! Seeing more of Japan with you is great, especially exploring all of what other towns have to offer. Those gardens are incredible, I think I could spend a day there writing, for sure. Definitely adding this to my list of things to experience in Japan, but I feel I will need to make multiple trips to experience everything, haha. The cup making would've been hella fun but looks difficult! Thanks for sharing your day with us as always! :)
your videos about japan are always so informative, i love it! i always learn so much after watching your videos ♥ ive always wanted to go to japan and am planning a trip soon with my boyfriend ^.^
I loved the sound of the cicadas. Even though we don’t have them in South Africa, we do have crickets and other noisy insects 😂 it reminds me so much of summer. This place is definitely on my bucket list!
OMG... I'm so happy because I've never seen foreigners visiting Ibaraki before like this even though Ibaraki is so close to Tokyo. Thank you for visiting😍
Oh man this morning keeps getting better wake up to go on a run in nice cool weather come home to my amazon package and the icing on top a sharla video to watch during breakfast
The kairakuen garden and the edo period villa are just amazing. Places like this are just beautiful and cool. One place i want to visit in japan if i ever get the chance to go is Musashizuka Park in Kumamoto where miyamoto musashi grave is at. Great video sharmeleon and thank you for showing use lovely places like this.
Thanks for the video! :) You seemed super excited/hyper at the beginning (yay adventure with Emma) and then seemed to become more relaxed as the video went on. Maybe it's just the zen feeling of tea and Japanese gardens? LOL. I agree, black swans are beautiful! Have a great time on your roadtrip!
Alright, I already had a talk with Emma about this, but why would you do this to me? Uploading at the same time?! I want to watch BOTH AT THE SAME TIME! It's so fun seeing the same day from two perspectives
I had taken a ceramics class and it was so rough, using the wheel everyday would have cuts on my hand from the small grains in the clay, and also it takes so much upper body strength and core strength that I didn't have (still don't) seeing you do the pottery wheel brought back memories of those days xD
This place is beautiful *-* The pottery classes remind me the ones I had during my childhood's summer, we get lots of help from the teacher though. Then it would have been a mess XD
Great video! I really liked all the details and explanations in the video, I feel like I can understand and appreciate the places better. I'd like to visit Kobuntei Villa, it seems like a really special place.
I recognized the cicadas even before you mentioned them...guess they're just that well known haha. That garden and villa were amazing! I would definitely be into visiting that!
I found it funny how she described them when heaps of countries including Canada have them. I don't find them soothing at all. I find them annoying af XD
Great video Sharla, it was nice seeing all the different places you and Emma checked out, lovely garden, both mochi looked good, The salad at the end looked really good. I’m happy you and Emma had fun.
Just hearing the sound of a semi makes me sweat - association with hot summer days. I have always passed through Ibaraki to other places, but I think I should give it a look. Thanks!
omg never been so early! I've missed your content so I'm glad to see any upload there is, and I've never heard of ibaraki so thank you for this unique content like always
Hahahaha when your pottery goes wrong is my favourite part 😂 I had a great time travelling with you!
Haha it was going so well WHAT HAPPENED😂😂
That legit freaked me out! 😂
Sharla said she'd make an extra cup to pick the best two and the universe said "ah nah"
Lucky she made two, the other one can be a soap dish
Sounds from Japan I like:
Green crosswalk signal
FamilyMart door chime
Cicadas
Absolutely lol
So nostalgic
And the school bell! Which isn't only used for school but for anything!
seriously i love these 3 sounds as well lol
the crows
Train announcement, especially in Kyoto with accent
The music before a traim arrives.
I'm from ibaraki and so so happy that she came here and introduced everyone the attractions of this city
My favorite part was probably listening to the cicadas, it’s such a childhood memory
I'm watching this outside in the early evening in the south part of the u.s.... it took me a second to realize the cicadas were on the video and not in my backyard! We hear cicadas nonstop in the summer. :)
Yes! Love the sound of semi!

I lived in Mito, Ibaraki for two years. I miss it everyday! Ibaraki is a beautiful prefecture
After work this is my relax time, I just watch the happy pretty girls having fun and I'm smiling again
I remember seeing those giant floats in one of Chris' videos! So happy to see another video from you Sharla! Hope you're doing well!
sharla, i hope you're well!! i really enjoy these kinds of videos and it's so nice to feel like you're taking us along and just chatting with us
I love, love, love the sound of cicadas. It's the sound of summer, to me. And I like sleeping to it.
Thank you for this video, I'm now adding Ibaraki to the itinerary for the trip I'm planning!

What a beautiful garden! Thanks for taking us there! 😁

I actually like the sound of cicadas. I find it equally satisfying to cat’s purring. :)
Nice! It's always great to get out of Tokyo and see what else Japan has to offer!
Will you do a grocery shopping trip and then cook somethings? I'd love to see a Japanese grocery store and enjoy watching you cook vegan dishes.
Love these vids so much. Thanks for sharing Japan with travel starved peeps like me. Much love, light and positivity from Montana. ✨💖✨
OMG...
I'm so happy because I've never seen foreigners visiting Ibaraki before like this even though Ibaraki is so close to Tokyo.

陶器造りいいですね〜
自分もやっみたいですし
ねぶた祭もいったことないので行ってみたいです
Those cicadas took me back to a holiday in Italy.

Wow, Ibaraki is definitely on the list next time I travel to Japan!
Amazing video! Love this kind of video! And what an great soundscape of all those cicada singing! I felt like deep diving in a manga or anime!
I’ve been in Ibaraki prefecture. My Homestay was in Azuma Mura, which I believe is Azuma Machi now.
Sharla eating the mochi is such a mood 🍡🤤
I just can’t stop thinking about Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni when hearing all those cicada’s cry.....
Man, what a fun video. I loved the festival and garden the most. It looked so beautiful!
It's really nice seeing more of the 'out of the way' places in Japan! Great video :D
Sharla creates new language as she snacks on delicious food!
Alright, I already had a talk with Emma about this, but why would you do this to me?
Uploading at the same time?! I want to watch BOTH AT THE SAME TIME!
It's so fun seeing the same day from two perspectives
That pottery class reminded me of Chris' wabi-sabi style bowls 😂
Wabi-sabi style is one way to put it😂
I find your voice so soothing. Great video thanks.
Thank you for taking us along on this adventure; I really loved the street festival, everything looks amazing and I bet it smelled just as good~!
Thank you for introduce Ibaraki prefecture.
I love when two of my favorite youtubers get together!

The grape mochi was the best :D
Hooray! A new video! Honestly loved the cicadas in the background. Reminded me of my trip to China 😂

Thank you for mentioning the stair in the villa. I just saw Emma's video and noticed that the stairs looked just like in all the castles.
you came in ibaraki!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you so much !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the little bits of history ❤
It was cool to see Kairakuen in the summer. I visited there last year and got to see the plum blossoms.
I'm coming to japan next October definitely putting this on my list of places to vist :o
The collab of dreams is back!
Great video Shar! Might be the best of yours yet.
Cicadas are aaaaaalll over Oklahoma, I had ONE on a tree outside my front door and it sounded like ten were living inside with me. They are so loud.
