To me, this is one of the greatest performances in cinema. Though you never see his face, his voice and body language builds the character development. Not at all an easy task.

People praise Karl Urban for don't bother to remove helmet/mask during the entire of Dredd, but forget Edward Norton had done it first as the Leper King.
I'm nearly certain, Norton did not physically act the part. he only did the voice. The guy playing the leper was not Norton.

I don't know what he did with his voice, but I remember going to see this with my sister when it was in theatres, and we both thought they had a younger guy in the costume but had Anthony Hopkins doing the voice with an accent other than his natural/usual accent. Neither of us picked up on who was truly under the mask. (My memories of the movie are otherwise a little fuzzy. As a history nerd, I knew how it would end and my sis just wanted to look at Orlando)

Religion aside scenes like this make me crave for a benevolent king to rise in our world. One who can unite people and bring peace instead of war. In our modern forms of government their just isn't that same feeling of loyalty to a leader.
They say power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely, but imagine if a man who refuses to be corrupted were to gain absolute power. A man who remains humble, his humanity intact and his heart tender for the people, that would be a man deserving of following to the ends of the earth.
