We had a string mower that you could pull behind the 4 wheeler or tractor or even a regular mower. Makes a great rough cut mower for fields and fence lines but ain't worth a hoot as a finish cut mower.
you can hammer back bent blades, and sharpen them.. thousands of mowing jobs.. no real issue.. I like that people invent, but.. maybe a different approach
actually you'd be surprised but no I've tried all sorts of different corsage on a line trimmer thinking it would hold up but even wire cable kits work hardens and let's go. it weighs too much and breaks off faster than trimmer line. if you use heavy enough line it lasts pretty good bet youd get a few hours of mowing before you needed to stop
Going to tell you an idea. I had about 10 years back the way you look at that right there. If you would you put another one closer to the corner and put a moving lever? So when you come to a corner at the Pole, you can push on the lever and the spe will go forward to have a corner reach like a weed eater. Make it easier for everybody else
It’s basically just thicker weedeater string I see what you’re trying to do for selling point but I see many annoying down falls with that set up a simpler solution pick your yard up before cutting it but there’s been other similar products on the market
It's this simple..ever trimmed a spot and you had to go over it a few times to get it even. The line won't be as clean or as even as a steel blade..just cut your lawn and look at the cut tips of your lawn..i bet it looks jagged and not a clean cut after using the line.
You think they are worried about it being uneven in grass that they let grow long enough to hide a 25lb rock lol The trouble is that this device is a niche piece of equipment, and people who don’t need it are critiquing it.
That looks like the strings like goes on a weed eater, but a little bit bigger. Around problem is they will also break. You'll be stopping every 15-20 minutes to put a new string on it
Now this makes sense.... I have land on top of a mountain and there's some serious hidden rocks and more than a few busted spindles so this isn't a terrible idea
I bought these for a Dixie chopper 2250r magnum. Absolute trash, $350 for something that didn’t survive ONE attempt to mow yard. Didn’t cut worth a damn, the pieces of line wouldn’t stay in hub and the ones that did where destroyed in 20 mins. SAVE YOUR MONEY DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE.
I'm seriously entertaining the idea but what's the cost of the wire and having to keep putting it in or the plastic string has a weed eater would be versus steel blade
Well bud not to knock your dreams but you should be picking up rocks from your yard as you cut. And you shouldn’t be cutting your pastures with less than a bushhog.
It’s doesn’t do a vital part of what a mower is supposed to do though. The upward curve on the back of a mower blade creates a updraft that sucks the grass up straight to be cut and discharges it out the side of the deck. These wont do that so I would imagine the cut quality is crap and I doubt it cuts as good, probably takes a few passes to get it all vs a sharp blade doing it first pass. Why do u think mowers are more efficient than weed eaters? Because of the way mowers cut. Im sure its already for roughly hacking down big fields that are super out of hand and cut quality doesn’t matter but for actual mowing and keeping a good looking lawn i dont think this is the move. Idk, prove me wrong by sending me one 😅
Yaaa more plastic in the environment. How about you just don't cut it😮 just let a animal eat it. Then you get food too. 🤯 And no expensive lawn equipment, and fuel ⛽.🤯🤯🤯
This isn't a new idea, everyone else who had it realized it was a bad idea.

You be changing cord all day lol
Broken down iron is better than microplastic

There’s a great way to avoid all of that. Walk your property, Mark the large stones and other obstacles, and get rid of them.
Steel cable would work better and last longer!
Barbed wire ...

I think the screen door for a submarine was a better idea

I’d try it out the lawns here have hidden rocks and the mahogany tree roots that are thick and destroy the blades so I’d give it a try
I have had two push string trimmers with string that thick or thicker, and it lasts about 20 minutes on rocks before it breaks off, sometimes less.
Demonstrate this great idea.
Why now cables instead of fishing line? How much are replacement fishing line?
Great idea

I would buy it but I need to see it cut like 4 foot tall grass first.
It's a lawn mower not a brush cutter.
@@NinjaDefiler i have a lawnmower that can cut 5 foot grass. I sharpen my blades razor sharp.
@@leo959 you don't, post a video on your channel.
Why cant the guy who made this video post it of his new string trimmer mower?
@@leo959 strawman argument and logical fallacy, so no video? Got it. 😄😄😄🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂 burden of proof is on you, you're the one making the claim NOT THEM.
Great idea!

Grass hopper makes a flail mower which would work way better

Thats just a wipper snipper. Have had them in Australia for decades. Those wires hurt by the way.
Definitely across the toes
Ripped out 3 spindles 4 blades 2 belt s this year help

Thats a lot of plastic in the ground

Had an old DR power trimmer brush mower. Had exactly the same. So yes, someone had come up with it
man, microplastics in the environment are not neccessary. Steel cable is what would work better.
We grow bricks here in ohio😂 theyve defff ruined a few of my days mowing😅
Love it

Smart
Why don't you. Pick the rocks up

you need stump jumpers
Man you better Cowboy up and put some still back up on her that lawn horse LOL
Have to question a guy "talking" about how good something works without actually showing you, especially when it's a video, smh
Still didn’t see it
No thanks bad idea you will spend tons of time replacing the string

“The rocks we grow in NW Arkansas…. Ain’t no competition to those where I grew up in Rockland County, NY. Before politics shot it in the foot…
To lazy to pick up rocks
All the energy needed to invent a solution to a problem no one has.
Pick up your lawn be a better solution. Only time ive known rocks to surface is when you work the soil😊
A proper walk through should save your blades
