I agree. Unlike the transforms of Dragon Ball Super, with its lazy recolouring of Super Saiyan hairstyle and lazy designs, Dragon Ball GT's SSJ4 is much more natural to the Saiyans, and is much more original in its design.
Super Saiyan 4 is the true pennacle of Saiyan potential plus they were able to deal with villains that are close to power that's in Dragon Ball super. Before the ultra forms of Ultra Instinct, Ultra Ego, Orange namekian, and Beast mode.

I Remember Reading A DBS Manga In June Were Whis Mentioned If Goku & Vegeta Still Had Their Tails. Their Power Would Easy Rival The Gods Of Destruction & Ultra Instincts Would Of Been Easier To Learn & Maintain Because Their Minds Would Have Been In Total Sync With Their Bodies. I Was Surprised Akira Put That In His Manga
Everyone always says this, and I get really sick of it. SSJ4 is just an adult by default. If you look at Vegeta, he actually ages down to his physical prime while Goku ages up. This is actually a possible carry-over from the original oozaru form, which has the same effect. Not to mention, SSJ4 draws out and optimizes all of the user's innermost latent potential. More importantly, they never said that the black star dragon balls were keeping Goku in his child form. They just said that any wish made on that set could only be reversed by that set. Even SSJ4 only restores his adult form temporarily.
Just a side note, he is not wearing a red shirt ripped down the front. That is red fur. Might seem a bit nit-picky but, seeing as this is a video dedicated to the anatomy of this form, I thought it prudent to point this out. Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't seen more folks mention that, as this is arguably the most iconic and defining feature of the SS4 form.
I find it interesting how ss4 is truly the final appearance of a saiyan at their max. Any alterations to their physical form are usually explained and make sense. Normally when boosting ss4 beyond it's previously thought max power it looks the exact same. But in heroes it only looked different because in it's limit breaker state because of the god ki imbued in it's power. And with gogeta it's because of fusion adding many unknown additions that neither individual is capable of separately.
I've short of always viewed ssj4 as the final transformation a mortal saiyan can obtain, what with it being the culmination of both their physiology and own efforts to improve themselves, with the only way forward being to change the quality of their ki from that point onwards ( I believe under specific circumstances that a saiyan can achieve ssj4 in as little as 30 years after mastering the oozaru form and just picking ssj up along the way but it would not surprise me if it took 40 or 50 years under less optimal circumstances for ssj4 to be achieved )

The weight increases after each transformation. The weight difference between Super Saiyan & Super Saiyan 2 looks indistinguishable. Anywhere from 3 - 5 lbs. SS4 is by far the best transformation in DB history, not only does it draw inspiration from monkey king Wukong but it also changes the appearance of the user, including weight and height. Minor thing, but it's not remembering his friends and family that caused Goku to turn into a Golden Great Ape, it's the Blutz Waves that caused him to transform. By light reflecting off the Earth's surface, the reaction within his tail caused him to transform. Baby Vegeta does the same thing when Goku goes SS4. Goku used the Earth as a replacement for a full moon. I also want to mention that GT actually is canon.

Yeah he was barely able to achieve cell/buu saga power as a kid. He wasn't mature enough to channel it properly. I like that both Toshiro Hitsugaya and Goku have similar restrictions attached to their transformation as it forces them to Max maturity for the power.
GT and Super (both anime and manga but for different reasons) were about the same quality, imo. I liked Baby and the end of the Shadow Dragon arc in GT. I also liked the GT TV special. I liked the first half of the Goku Black arc and most of the ToP in the anime. In the manga, I liked the Goku Black arc and Moro. The movies are better than anything in the Super anime and manga. GT had more consistently good art and animation, at least until Super cleaned up it's act. Both are like a 6-7/10. SS4 is one of the best saiyan forms. I like it better than Blue and even God.
Really fun head canon is it's potentially canon..when Goku transformed ssj3 we see a ln oozaru growing from a fetus and this is one of the forms it takes.
In the manga when vegeta first fought goku, he explained the transformation. He said it was that they absorb a type of radiation from the moon through their eyes and in turn a gland in their tails trigger the transformation. I wound put too much stock in it, because Toriyama forgot about characters and plot points.
I'd argue that any close enough celestial body to the planet you're transforming on would work, it just happens to normally be a moon. Earth and planet tuffle were just close enough that earth was a surrogate moon to it. especially if the planet was bigger than earth. Planet tuffle did get specifically wished into earth's orbit.

it's because GT is a different series, a kind of future timeline where they unlocked this primal transformation line which is not necessarily connected to the first 3 super saiyan forms in anything but name.
Super saiyan 4 is canon now since multiverses exist in dragonball, Toyo even stated in a interview that Goku and Vegeta will eventually get ssj4 transformations and beyond that in Dragonball super eventually as well.

How I look at golden great ape power multiplier is this, “base” oozaru is a 10x of normal base. Ssj is x50 times base 2 is 100x, 3 is 400x (since it’s incomplete to me) and 4 is supposed to be 10x 3. I think golden great ape is a 5000 times multiplier. Since oozaru is 10x base so should it’s ssj multiplier at 500x base ape. Ssj4 now being the same since it’s just a condensing of the form.
Personally after running the calculations I concluded that ssj4 as a multiplier can be no less than 12 thousand times base form I have not bothered looking for a upper limit but I have concluded that ssj god has to be at least 1 million times base but the ritual ssj god has to be 10 million times base at least ( base vegito = 20,000 time base goku/vegeta with ssj1-3 vegito = 1-8 million just under ritual ssj god but above non ritual ssj god) I think that goku and vegeta in dragon ball super are only demigods and not proper gods like goku black was ( divine soul and divine ki wereas goku and vegeta's souls are that of mortals even though they have god ki ) I believe gohan is the reverse of this formula with a divine soul but mortal ki

DBGT is a splendid story? That’s cap. The first 16 episodes is unremarkable. The Baby saga had great moments but could of been executed better. The rest of the arcs range from bad to decent.

SS4 is by far the best transformation in DB history, not only does it draw inspiration from monkey king Wukong but it also changes the appearance of the user, including weight and height. While Akira is a very simple man who doesnt do all the flashy looks, this form gives that. Ive never been a fan of God, blue, or even UI/UE heck beast isnt wven all that. But 4 holds a special place in my heart

Minor thing, but it's not remembering his friends and family that caused Goku to turn into a Golden Great Ape, it's the Blutz Waves that caused him to transform. By light reflecting off the Earth's surface, the reaction within his tail caused him to transform. Baby Vegeta does the same thing when Goku goes SS4. Goku used the Earth as a replacement for a full moon.
I also want to mention that GT actually is canon.

Yeah he was barely able to achieve cell/buu saga power as a kid. He wasn't mature enough to channel it properly. I like that both Toshiro Hitsugaya and Goku have similar restrictions attached to their transformation as it forces them to Max maturity for the power.

GT and Super (both anime and manga but for different reasons) were about the same quality, imo. I liked Baby and the end of the Shadow Dragon arc in GT. I also liked the GT TV special. I liked the first half of the Goku Black arc and most of the ToP in the anime. In the manga, I liked the Goku Black arc and Moro. The movies are better than anything in the Super anime and manga. GT had more consistently good art and animation, at least until Super cleaned up it's act. Both are like a 6-7/10. SS4 is one of the best saiyan forms. I like it better than Blue and even God.

Really fun head canon is it's potentially canon..when Goku transformed ssj3 we see a ln oozaru growing from a fetus and this is one of the forms it takes.

In the manga when vegeta first fought goku, he explained the transformation. He said it was that they absorb a type of radiation from the moon through their eyes and in turn a gland in their tails trigger the transformation. I wound put too much stock in it, because Toriyama forgot about characters and plot points.
I'd argue that any close enough celestial body to the planet you're transforming on would work, it just happens to normally be a moon. Earth and planet tuffle were just close enough that earth was a surrogate moon to it. especially if the planet was bigger than earth. Planet tuffle did get specifically wished into earth's orbit.

correct me if im wrong, but isnt the saiyans transformations supposed to be the same looking. Goku's and Vegeta's ssj4 transformations are different esepcially the color of fur on their body and their eyes.
it's because GT is a different series, a kind of future timeline where they unlocked this primal transformation line which is not necessarily connected to the first 3 super saiyan forms in anything but name.

Super saiyan 4 is canon now since multiverses exist in dragonball, Toyo even stated in a interview that Goku and Vegeta will eventually get ssj4 transformations and beyond that in Dragonball super eventually as well.

How I look at golden great ape power multiplier is this, “base” oozaru is a 10x of normal base. Ssj is x50 times base 2 is 100x, 3 is 400x (since it’s incomplete to me) and 4 is supposed to be 10x 3. I think golden great ape is a 5000 times multiplier. Since oozaru is 10x base so should it’s ssj multiplier at 500x base ape. Ssj4 now being the same since it’s just a condensing of the form.
Personally after running the calculations I concluded that ssj4 as a multiplier can be no less than 12 thousand times base form I have not bothered looking for a upper limit but I have concluded that ssj god has to be at least 1 million times base but the ritual ssj god has to be 10 million times base at least ( base vegito = 20,000 time base goku/vegeta with ssj1-3 vegito = 1-8 million just under ritual ssj god but above non ritual ssj god) I think that goku and vegeta in dragon ball super are only demigods and not proper gods like goku black was ( divine soul and divine ki wereas goku and vegeta's souls are that of mortals even though they have god ki ) I believe gohan is the reverse of this formula with a divine soul but mortal ki

DBGT is a splendid story? That’s cap. The first 16 episodes is unremarkable. The Baby saga had great moments but could of been executed better. The rest of the arcs range from bad to decent.
