- Hello everyone, after the last speed run with the Boataghini, I was left a bit disappointed to be honest. On 3s it achieved 41 kph. I always thought that the boat looked faster than that. It must just be a boat thing lol
Anyways, I bought a 4s battery and returned lol

That 4s battery has really woke this little boat up somewhat lol. i enjoyed my little self today. i think the only improvement i can make further to this, without changing all the elctrics etc, is to maybe try and get a bigger propeller. As for the on board footage Rob, i like to show that footage because it shows just how steady this boat is on the water, even at this speed. The camera i use for the fpv is only a cheap hawkeye Firefly, no gimbal etc, so its quite impressive in my opinion at the steadyness dude.

Thanks a lot for the nice comment bro. i think the 4s battery has made a massive difference and has really woke the little boat up somewhat. I think the only other improvement i can now make, without changing electrics etc is to do a bit of research on the propeller and maybe try and buy a bigger one. Although this might have the same effect on the motor as a bigger pinion would on a car. But i think i will try and find a bigger prop and give it a go. As for the fpv footage, the reason i like to add the fpv on the boat is to show just how stable the boat is whilst ripping across the water. The camera i use is a cheap hawkeye firefly camera and does not have a built in gimbal etc, so the boat is quite impressive when you see how steady it flies across the water

That 4s battery really made a big difference. That crazy flip shows the power when you pinned the throttle. It does seem boats look faster on the water than cars do on the floor, weird thing it is. Cool boat and great vid 👍

Thanks a lot buddy for watching and for the nice comment. But believe it or not this is actually just a big puddle. It almost dissappears in the warmer months and then returns when the rain comes. You can walk straight across it if you wear wellies like i am doing. I like it here for the boat because if the boat flips over then you can litterally just walk across the water and retrieve your boat. i like that option lol

Thanks a lot buddy. Yep, its a great puddle dude, it tends to nearly dissapear in the summer months, so you have to wait for the rain to return before i can take the boat on it. I like it here for the bot because if the boat flips over then you can litterally just walk across the water and retrieve the boat. All you need is a pair of rubber wellies lolol.

The camera i am using does not have any stabilization etc so the footage is pure from the camera being cellotaped onto the body of the boat. Quite amazing really mate. The camera i am using is an old hawkeye Firefly thing

No way Gilbo it was rapid lol. The 4s battery has made a massive difference and put a massive smile on my face too lol. I am also impressed mate at how steady the boat is whilst ripping across the water, thats why i like to show a bit of on board footage so you can see how steady it is, and the on board camera is just a cheap hawkeye Firefly that i use and that has no gimbal or stabilization on it etc. I think a few of us should get boats and do a whacky race on here !!!

To be fair bro, boats are quite cheap compared to car and trucks etc. I only paid 90 uk pounds for this boat albeit i was lucky, but even at full price they are only 150 uk pounds which isnt expensive when you consider how good it is. And its good fun to run every now and again for a change dude

I actually got this boat from ebay as a factory demo model for 90 quid mate, proper bargain. But i think the same model is only about 150 quid brad new which to be fair isnt really that much when you compare the price of other rc stuff that goes this fast lol. i think my only further improvement now would be to see if i can buy a bigger propeller for it, i will search the net for one lol

Hello Brother J. Thanks for the great comment dude. Yes, just putting a 4s battery in has made a brilliant improvement and didnt half wake her up lol. I recon if i glued a set of wings on her hull then she would defo fly lololol. I think the only other improvement that i can make is perhaps fitting a bigger propeller. I will have to do some research and see if i can buy a bigger one for it. I think it may have the same issues as fitting a bigger pinion so i will have to be careful of temps etc, but defo i will search the net for another propeller and see what happens. I enjoyed myself today making this video and ripping across the water lol. Hope you and ypurs are all safe and well dude

But yeah, dont just pull full throttle with 4s power because it does cart wheels lolol, but the boat landed the correct way up so its not counted as a crash lolol. I enjoyed this ripping today dude

Okay, that’s what I’m talking about. Absolute monster on 4s. That barrel roll coming off throttle was excellent. Speed was good, think you could get more if you upped your prop size & pitch.

Lol. Yes matey. It was a cold day today and proper thick ice on my car window. I actually warmed up a little today because after walking from my car to the puddle, and then doing the intro filming, i realised that i had left my handset in my car, sooooooo i had to pack up and walk back to my car, 10 min walk, only to return to then film the boat in the water lol. I also had a big hat on which covered my head and ears, i only took the hat off to film the intro lol.

The cold weather is defo closing in Derek. I dont mind the cold to much Derek, its the heavy wind or Rain that i dont like. I dont do wet lol. But i know what you mean about numb fingers lol

I think speed must generally just look faster on water than on tarmac for what ever reason matey. But i was happy with this run. That 4s battery has made a difference and woke the little boat up somewhat lol. I think the only other thing i could do now, would be to try and get a slightly bigger prop, just for a couple of passes. i would imagine that a bigger pro may give the same issues as a bigger pinion on a car. But it was defo good fun out there today lol

Thanks buddy. It was cold morning and i had to scrape ice from my car window this morning. However, i will let you into a little secret, when i walked to the puddle from my car, i did the little intro video and then when i went to run the boat, i realised that i had left the controller in my car lol, so i had to pack up and walk back to my car, get the handset and then walk all the way back to the water, so this warmed me up a little. i was also wearing a big hat which i only took off for the intro bit. But it was all worth it in the end because i was very pleased with the result dude, i was smiling alll the time when i saw it rip across the water, the 4s battery defo woke this little boat up a little lol

Thanks a lot bro. I am happy with this speed. 35 mph is fast on water and the 4s battery has certainly given the boat an extra boost. The esc was not to warm either which also surprised me a little, i was exspecting it all to be very hot. I am also very happy at how steady the boat is on the water at this speed. You can see with the on board camera how steady the boat is. The on board camera is a little Hawkeye Firefly which has no gimbal or stabilization etc, so the boat is impressive bro

I have googled the mobius mini cam. It looks a very similar type of camera as the hawkeye firefly that i use bro
@@tiborvon Yes, very similar. I just watched a footage of the Firefly Q6 4K which has image stabilization (gyro). That cam does great!!
My firefly is not the 4k one. I have had it qyite a while. Its been really good camera. I might have to upgrade to the 4k one at some point

Hello bro. That’s a nice new addition that you are getting. These things are pretty fast bro lol. I really enjoy ruining mine, i think you will have good fun. Nothing to warn you about really buddy, i think general use is fast enough with 3s battery. 4s is brilliant but just remember to let things cool down a bit. Because the electrics are enclosed, its important to make sure the water cooling is working. These boats are quite steady too but remember that if it turns over then you need a way to retrieve it. That’s why i enjoy my big puddle, its only knee depth in water so i can easily walk out in it. And finally, after a few runs make sure to clean the prop. It’s dead easy and dead quick to remove and wipe down and grease up. Top stuff buddy

Jet ski guy sounds a brilliant idea lol. There is a little adjustment on the propeller angle Paul, not much, and on this run i had it as low down as possible. I am thinking my next move will be to see if i can buy a bigger propeller and then try another run

I have the same boat v972-4, stock motor 3540 1800kv, esc flycolor 90a and a 42mm cnc propeller with pitch 1.4, I use it in 4s and it works very well, but my question is if I could use it with 5s or is it too much ?? Hello. I dont really know the answer my friend. My boat is total stock. It runs ok on 4s but you have to be careful for heat. I dont think stock can take 5s. You have changed the esc so this should be ok with 5s, but i think the motor maybe get too hot. I would not recommend to use 5s in my opinion.
