Like yourself I'm not a big fan for USB microphones, never have been, but became interested in the Axino USB mic a little research. With it ability to emulate multiple high end mics what convenient me to give it a try and after using it I don't regret my purchase .
Great! i like how it sounds.
This was a great review, but I wanted to say your lighting is amazing! Truly high class.
Thanks! My setup is forever changing, check my latest video for current lighting lol
"The New Antelope Audio Axino Synergy Core Usb Microphone" - im a voice over artist and you said that without tripping up. Impressive! lol
Solid bro
Can I use the effects like the mic mods and compressors inside a daw? And how do I do it
How do you rate this Antelope Axino with the Presonus Revelator USB Microphone because that also comes with builtin sound effects...
Which one should be bought?
Can you use this through a good usb powered Hub like Hyper +USBC Drive?
Awesome video! Very informative!!!
Thank you!
Yes it is only informative. I was waiting for a song or other sound recording.
I bought such a microphone because I thought it had the same sound as the ZenGo interface. I was wrong. The preamp of the ZenGo interface sounds crystal clear, but this is not the case with the Axino. AFX effects work in real time, their sound is UAD level i rthink but with "no detailed" sound, they cannot give a serious result either. Unfortunately, after a few days, I sent it back and bought an NT1 microphone. Well, that was a good decision!
@Balázs Kollár if I only used it as an interface, the quality was still poor. I would say "Behringer level" but I had tested UMC204 and 404 HD before and they sounded nice. (In my tests, the benchmark is an UAD Apollo 8).
If the Axino interface had ZenGo quality, I would have been happiest, because the DSP solution was extremely good. I think it's better than UAD!
I think for most people, getting something like a Rhode NT1 and an interface is a much more sound use of $400..... More versatility, better sound.... The ability to record inputs like insruments, not just a microphone. USB mics make sense for some podcasters and RUclipsrs at the entry level..... But this is entering a much more serious price range....... I just can't see this making the most sense to most people and their needs.
I agree with you!
@@EckertAndras well, ive been cutting vocals for a decade at least and im getting great results without any post production so far jus using the antelope audio plug ins on the front end
How can. You here the play back from the computer and not from the mic I’m trying to here my auto tune effect from my plug ins channel
Does ANTELOPE AUDIO AXINO sound better than Shure MV7?
Sounds great and the features and capabilities are epic. Still wondering if to get the axino or edge solo priced now at $395...
If you already have an Antelope interface the Edge solo makes sense to me!
Thanks, Jacob. Antelope says the solo works with any preamp. I plan to buy the Audient iD44 ....
BTW, how's the heaphone output quality? Anywhere near the Zen Go one?
@@johnngatho6520 if you’re recording music and not using a antelope preamp you have to use mic modeling and efx in your DAW vice using it pre DAW. Just a heads up, that’s why I bought the usb one.
@@ProTest808 Oh, thanks. So how would I use the emulations of their edge solo mic with iD44, say I want to record something with the Tokyo 800...?
Very good presentation! Could I use this mic instead of the ZenQ? I just need it for recording vocals. Has it got the same Audio quality as the ZenQ together with the Edge Solo? As far as the price is concerned it can‘t be, but who knows.
A Zen Q with a condenser mic will absolutely be better
@@JacobDarkOfficial Thanx a lot. I appreciate your reviews because in my view they are true and serious!
@@vewilli Much appreciated, should you end up purchasing it really helps the channel when you use my links!
@@JacobDarkOfficial well, I’m from Austria and purchasing it in America would make it much more expensive as I‘ll have to pay taxes as well!
@@vewilli no worries!
It is compatible with smartphones
How did you connect interface to monitors speaker and connect axino usb mic at the same time?
I had the same problem. I solved it by using a second audio interface with outputs that connect to my monitors and using a Mac computer. First I connected both the Axino and my other audio interface to my computer. Then I went into "audio/midi set up" and created an aggregate device, where I included the Axino and the other audio interface and applied "drift control". Opened my DAW and select the new aggregate device as the audio engine. That did the trick! However I don't know how to do it on a windows PC computer.
1,2,1,2,1,2 🤣 good review surprised by this mic.
The old 1s and 2s, still dependable to this day
@@JacobDarkOfficial 2
Do you use any other hardware with this USB mic? I need help because I bought this mic and it doesn't sound as clear as I thought it would be.
For me I used this mic and I really like it... I think you just need to know how to use it.. my test give me the best results when I put the volume to the middle ... Where you don't have a huge gain ... Remember you need to know how to use there afx in away you do not boost certain frequencies
@@istylebuy4958 thanks for the reply, what do you use to record vocals? what program do you recommend?
@@pwnagejetsonjetson4118 i work also with cubase and logic pro.
Which one is better, Blue Yeti or Antelope Audio Axino Synergy?
Antelope Audio Axino Synergy is much better. I have also the blue Yeti and the antelope. And i have also the mackie chromium. I only use the Antelope Audio Axino anymore. I'm selling the other two right now. I think, this test from Jacob is not good. Jacob should play with it more. Than Jacob could show what this microphone can really do.
@@RudiStreleLive Thanks for sharing
Blue Yeti ist müll in Vergleich
Ios???
how is this one cheaper than the edge solo? but it has effects included hmm
This is a USB mic, edge is XLR and meant for an audio interface
Not a fan of it rather go with the edge go but nice review
I've watched videos of this and some make it look good and some make it look bad. In this video you use the worst option for your voice for 99.9% of it and it sounds awful, the u87 while not perfect was so much better lol. Same in their official long video, he uses it with no mic emulation on the whole video, which defeats the purpose surely
Not interested. Have a PD-70 Presonus dynamic broadcasting microphone with a Focusrite solo audio interface.
