It takes time just keep trying. And if they are still being rebellious there might be an underlying issue behind their behavior. Also teens are never going to be 100% obedient so keep that in mind when you are parenting them.

My son is rebellious because he has diabetes and he hates being a diabetic and all the restrictions and care he needs but now everything is an argument and a fight ! But I found the video very helpful in reminding me to focus on one thing and not everything all at once and to understand his health condition must make him feel very powerless.

My son is 17.5 and only now hitting a really strong rebellious phase...he just told me he wants to move out of my house and live with his mom...Ive done basically everything you suggest. I realize theres probably not much I can do at this point...everything he brings up is about his feelings, he even acknowledges its not anything I do...what do I do with this!?

Right I’m dealing with that and we can truly discipline our kids anymore. We’re not allowed to like how we were disciplined or risk having a cps case. Smh. We have to nag them or do nothing. When they’re shut off they’re shut off. This is impossible.

My mom left us when we were teens, it was super hard for us. I had nightmares where I cursed and sweared to my mom, just to get a reaction and attention...All I wanted was her love, and even if she felt she loved me, I didn't feel it...Your daughter may just need you to be there with her and love her unconditionally, no matter what and even if. My mom was with us until I was 18. But I never got the love I wanted to get and the attention I wanted to get....Not even now as an adult I get it...even after conversations....So you may think you love her, you may think by saying to her you love her she will feel it but we all feel it in different ways. Read the book called "The five love languages of Children" by Gary Chapman.

Uhhh. No... A rebellious child/teen is trying to send a message and challenge your authority. Punishing a child for acting out will only push them further away. Find out what the message is. Then start from there :)

All I hear is excuses life is full of boundaries rules and expectations. Not hard to live up to a couple of moral standards and do the right thing spare the garage spoil the child. Bottom line is that’s what’s wrong with kids up today this type of thinking.

YEah right! Reading the Bible and interprting it depends on how a person thinks, situations and intelligence. Too many religions uses the Bible to TIED down people.

Agreed! The Bible is clear about creating an enviroment of love, joy, and peace.
      1. Show them unconditional love. 1 John 4:7-8
      2. Speak life to them often. Proverbs 18:21
      3. Support them in pursuing their divine design. Romans 12:6-8
      4. Speak truth with grace. Ephesians 4:15
      5. Learn their distress tolerance and do not nag them. Colossians 3:21
      6. Teach them about God's love. Deuteronmy 6:6-7
      7. Demonstrate integrity and walk upright before them. Titus 2:7-8
      8. When they rebel, don't chase them. Luke 15:20 Wait on the porch with compassionate open arms. Psalm 103:13

as a teenager myself who's a Catholic I don't agree with you you should go and understand why your teen is rebellious you don't have to based everything about ur religion and stuff like that remember that your religion is just a belief and not a scientific fact, it's also not based on a psychology thing or whatever try communicating with them without forcing them and whatever you do do not invalidate them
