  • In this video, we will discuss wiring harnesses for the DynaGen controllers.
When you purchase a DynaGen generator controller, such as the TG350 or TG410, consider also buying some accessories to help you with the installation process.
To connect your engine or generator to the DynaGen controller, you will need both Molex and AMP connectors. AMP-type connectors are used for AC connections, such as voltage sensing and current transformers. For everything else, there are different Molex Mini-Fit Jr. connectors. It's not easy to do yourself if you do not have the proper crimping tools and parts on hand. Thankfully, DynaGen offers pre-made harnesses that can save you a lot of time and money.
When deciding what harness you should start with, the AC Volts harness with these AMP connections is almost always used. The next most common harness is considered the main harness, and it comes in two versions. One is for use with, and the other is for use without, the optional relay pack. Additionally, the Expansion and Communication connectors are used for CANbus, Modbus, and speed sensing using a magnetic pickup sensor. There is also a specific harness if you use current sensors to measure power on the TG 410 controller.
It would help if you chose these pre-made wiring harnesses instead of making your own.
With DynaGen wiring harnesses, each wire is colour-coded and clearly labelled, making installation easy. Additionally, example wiring diagrams show how to use these harnesses, helping you determine the right one for your needs.
If you visit Aurora Generators, you will find all the manuals, example wiring diagrams, and a complete list of accessories you may consider purchasing with your controller.
DynaGen harnesses are colour-coded and labelled, eliminating guesswork about which wire goes where and what function it serves.
DynaGen wiring harnesses are inexpensive and can facilitate upgrading and adding these rugged controllers to your generator or other engine-powered equipment.
We recommend using only 18 gauge machine tool wire for all wiring connections, with the exception of the higher power terminals on the optional relay pack. The user manuals for these controllers cover other critical considerations.
We frequently refer to the typical wiring diagram even after using these controllers for many years. It is self-explanatory, with examples that vary only depending on the type of accessories you are connecting and how you wish to configure some spare inputs.
