For sure do it, Justin. This is one of the reasons I made these videos. My grandma is 88 now and these videos bring back decades of great memories.... and once you do, load it up and share, send out some love to the world, we definitely need more of it.
Backgammon is a wonderful game, I play it for money and in tournaments BUT, these wooden boards are strictly a NO NO. the dice bounce all over the place, landing on the floor more than in the playing area and the noise is extremely disconcerting and annoying. NOBODY uses a wooden board in tournaments, none of my friends own one, and many top players own 3, 4 or more boards and not a wooden board among them. Take my advice, buy a board with a soft playing surface, cork, leather or felt.

There is nothing like playing a a wooden board, it's absolutely beautiful. Just my 2cents.
chycho - point taken but you will not see a wooden board at any UK tournament, or casino event, I assure you.
I believe you and I understand why. but during private money games, what I've mainly played on is wooden boards.
